Its the rythm section that makes this shit amazing- that bass pounds and drives, and the drums lock it all in, both allowing Nobu to show off how hard he's laying in those keyboard parts. Good song is good.
To be honest I feel like Seymour should have been the Final Boss of this game. He certainly was the main “villain” of the game. People always talk about Jecht but… he’s not really a villain. They just had to defeat his Aeon which was keeping Sin alive. People could say Sin, but Sin isn’t evil. It’s just a machine that follows it’s programming. Or Yu Yevon? But Yu Yevon was only protecting his summoned city, and eventually lost his mind and became a shell of his former self, barely sentient. But Seymour… he was evil. He had a clear objective, he wanted to become sin and destroy the world.
I personally think his role is fine, my reasoning mostly because of the theming. Seymour was more so a representation of everything wrong with the world, something the olot revolves around using Tidus as a spearhead to punch a hole in everyone else's beliefs. Seymour was the embodiment of a small boy who was denied any sense of a normal childhood because of the customs of his people, the religion of Yevon, and everything in between. Lost his mother to their religion and witnessed her transformation into the game's most grotesque Aeon, was raised as a sacrificial lamb to kill Sin, and came to believe human life was worthless because that had been his lived experience. But he wasn't the mastermind. Neither was Jecht, Jecht was just the catalyst to get the plot moving. Yu Yevon, however, was a parasite pushing all of this forward and keeping the cycle going. I think it works well as the final boss thematically. Is it a pathetic tick that you can't even lose to? Sure, but that is also kinda the point; wears your Aeons like armor and once you've plowed through them all, the only thing he can do is heal himself in a vein attempt to live. Thematically speaking, it fits with the whole idea that Yevon l, as a religion, was only as strong as the faith people put in it; take that away and it's just a leech sucking the life out of the world at large with people worshipping it none the wiser of the fact that they were worshipping Sin. Just my take on it. Doesn't have to be right; one of the reasons I love this game so much is because of the open ended assertions made and how they can be interpreted.
Even then tho. Seymour wanted to destroy the world to end the spiral of death Spira was trapped in. Instead of Sin being the instrument and symbol of death, it would become Spira's salvation FFX was truly an amazing game

Truth to be told: I don't even like the song that much. ^.^ I mean: It's alright. And memorable. But I prefer Birth of a God (FF7) when it comes to a kick-ass boss song.

I like to imagine that when this song was being recorded, Uematsu was dissatisfied with the intensity (or rather, lack thereof) on the drums and told the drummer to really hammer those cymbals... Fed up, the drummer goes and picks up actual hammers with which to hit them :P
This is the song that plays when the character experiences a second wind. The enemy thought they won, the hero was beaten down and there was nothing left. But inside, something stirs, and a transformation takes them from 0 to 100. They are ready to fight some more, and the enemy WILL fall.
I had the exact same thought about hearing this song before starting FFX. Made me think Tidus and Seymour were going to have a last stand with Sin while everyone else was knocked out, ending with Seymour sacrificing himself for everyone else. Imagine playing a game in mode that lets you play as the villain and easily defeat the hero, and then you start hearing this as the hero rises again way stronger than before knowing that you’re going to lose.
I love this boss fight's music, I died so many times during this boss battle although I enjoyed the music while fighting Seymour I started screaming when I beat him
Even when/if I get around to playing this game, I will never be able to separate my association of this song with Super Pokémon Eevee Edition since that's where I first heard it. I finished that game recently and just really wanted to know where it came from (It was obviously a FF song, like most songs in that game, but I wasn't at all sure which). This song is so damn good. Lol.

Honestly, the only "bad" thing I've heard about it is the cherrypicked laugh scene, but I'm also aware that the people who criticized that completely missed the point (This is pretty much the only thing about this game I really know about, and even then, I'm not certain about the actual context). Lol. I'm definitely interested in this one, and I'll probably get it eventually. I'm not necessarily in a rush to buy any more games atm, but this is one I want to get around to eventually.

God they butchered this in the Remaster. I mean most of the songs got butchered, but it is MUCH harder to find the original tracks now because they keep posting the damn remaster as if people want to listen to that version. It has no punch, no beat. Dry as hell.

When I got to this part on my PS2, Tidus, Wakka, Yuna, Rikku and Auron were absoultely BUSTED. My Auron already was at 9999 HP, and Tidus was at 8000+. Everyone else had 6500 and lower. I grinded so hard to beat Yunalesca that the game was soooo much easier when I finally did beat her. All I did for this fight was bring out my Tidus (who'd already finished his Sphere Grid and was ending Yuna's) And used the Nul-Elemental attacks to turn this fight into a joke. I let Auron deal with the rest, with his guaranteed 9999 dmg for every single hit.
recently beat this game for the first time, i lost the first attempt because i was overwhelmed by what i was seeing and hearing lmao even so the game doesn’t explain how you’re supposed to stop him from using 4 spells in 1 turn so i wouldn’t put it past “unprepared” players
