- This video was made on the 2014 TravelWild Expeditions cruise to Spitsbergen, the largest island in Norway's Svalbard archipelago.
One of the main reasons people travel to Spitsbergen is to see polar bears in the wild. Glaciers, rugged coastal mountains and snowy landscapes offer the perfect backdrop to seeing polar bears in their natural habitat. On our Spitsbergen trips, we commonly see polar bears swimming, nursing their cubs, hunting seals and ambling among the pack ice. These are thrilling encounters that make Spitsbergen arguably the best place to see polar bears in the wild.
While polar bears are the main attraction, a trip to Spitsbergen offers so much more. Other wildlife that you are likely to see on a Spitsbergen cruise includes walruses, whales, seals, Svalbard reindeer and huge colonies of seabirds such as dovekies, norther fulmars and Arctic terns.
Cruises to Spitsbergen also entail visits to glaciers, research stations, historical sites and plenty of shore landings. Most trips are 7-10 days in length with some circumnavigating the entire island.

Beautiful polar bears
I have no any idea talk about this wonderful nature. But when I was student at childhood life then I lived with these beautiful animals like white artic 🐻 Bear wonderful Seal, very cool ice with 🐦 in my heart. But today selfish human's mind thrown me at economic and financial violent. Why I am not able to spend my time with wonderful friends and nature in real life. Thanks..

The plant identified as Tufted Saxifrage looks very similar to Diapensia Lapponica..
looks similar yes, but if u look closely, u can see Tufted Saxifrage have more anther than Diapensia Lapponica, and the petal shape of D. Lapponica more rounded than Saxifrage. sorry if im wrong

Weddell, Ross, and Leopard seals. Adelie, Chinstrap, Gentoo, and Emperor penguins. Skua, petrels, other birds. Orca whales. Some invertebrates. Fish and squid, other sea life.

If you teach the bear that approaching humans for food is safe that will endanger both the bear and the people. Arming yourself is not just common sense on Svalbard, but the law. If a bear threatens humans they will act in self defense.

human should not trespass wildlife as they destroy animal habitats and encounter dangerous situations. these tours must be stopped and banned. Hope that Norwaygean government and WAP (World Animal Protection) and WWF (World Wild Fund) will restrict these destructive harmful tours
at least they are shooting with camera's not weapons, everyone looked and acted respectful in this video to me.
No humans need to learn more about their environment in order to protect it.
