    About Short Film Showcase:
The Short Film Showcase spotlights exceptional short videos created by filmmakers from around the web and selected by National Geographic editors. We look for work that affirms National Geographic's belief in the power of science, exploration, and storytelling to change the world. Two polar bears, a mother and her cub, clamber over the sea ice with the pink winter sky glowing behind them. “These are the moments I live for,” says nature photographer Joshua Holko.
High in the Arctic archipelago of Svalbard, Holko is on a mission to document polar bears in the wild. Braving the elements for up to 16 hours a day, he is joined on his quest by cinematographers Abraham Joffe and Dom West of Untitled Film Works. Despite technical issues and frostbite due to the subzero temperatures, the crew persisted in the depths of winter to capture the haunting beauty of this frozen expanse.
In Ghosts of the Arctic, get up close to polar bears in their natural habitat and experience the breathtaking Arctic landscape in stunning detail.

I feel so much awe for the photographers at NG. Such compassion. Working there is like reaching the highest point on the career. They spend days and weeks in freezing conditions, searing heat and humid jungles with all the problems they cause for the equipment. After all this they get a few minutes of their material on television. And still they go on, driven by their passion.
    Bravo!

Always love National Geographic (short) film's. Did however laugh out loud when Joshua said: "in order to connect with my subjects, I need to fully emerge myself" - wears full black on black while laying in the snow. Hahahaha

Went there last May, an absolutely stunning place. Seeing wild polar bears isn't as difficult as it's made out to be here though, you just need patience. You can see deer without even leaving the comfort of Longyearbyen, since they're not afraid of people.

The ultimate aim is helping them they're dying. I have seen videos that are so horrific of these animals trying to survive. I don't believe its global warming I believe it's controlled global warming and how they make the storms go where it's all a farce and it's horrible.

    How to Photograph Polar Bears:
Step 1. Take your ex, or soon to be late-wife/husband to Antarctica and dress them as SEALS
Step 2: Wait for the Polar bear to arrive.
Step 3: Watch the happiness unfolding... and click the photos to keep them as good memories.
Step 4: Enjoy the property, money 💰 and things all alone now... look at the photos and feel better. 🤤
