pinely hasanabi stolen video
This whole saga was on my mind a lot over the past few days so I decided to make a little bonus video about it. this is NOT part of the Pinely show canon
I was only able to find ur channel because i saw hasan watching ur video (and i knew how some people felt about some streamer reacting to other contend) i decided to watch the original (u have a lot of good works) because it was shorter than hasan reaction
I also found your channel from Hasan’s stream. I hope he is able to get that channel taken down so this doesn’t happen again.
You're my favorite Disney prince, bro. You're dashing and intelligent.
i always try to credit youtubers when i react to them (except when i don't approve of the channel) this means linking in the description having the name in the title and put the name in the video using graphics i also say almost every time that the links are in the description and i try to add at least as much content time as the original video
i also generally do not use youtubers original thumbnails and make my own
all in all being a reaction channel is easy it does not take a lot to give credit
can't Hassan/you copyright claim there videos to have them removed individual
Using other folk’s content in your own is already a tricky minefield to maneuver, but clip channels like that wholesale uploading the entire thing and erasing the original creator from its identity is like giving up and jumping belly first on the IED’s, hope that some way to regulate reuploaded stuff like that is available soon for creators like you my friend
Yeah I agree, it's absolutely wrong and the fact that music will instantly get copyrighted on videos because of royalties even if they're non-copyright yet a video someone worked on for a long time can just be uploaded by someone else with absolutely no worry of being caught by UA-cam is crazy.
Yeah it’s really unfair to the people have spent their blood and cum on their video. That shit pisses me off :\
Didn't expect you here Kwite!
Kwite!!
Nice to see you showing support Kwite!!
this stuff is insane, thanks for speaking out about it - but truly the biggest crime was that thumbnail, lol. big "how do i make sure this looks stolen" energy

These "clips" channels are just blatantly stealing videos
For a moment I thought that it was Hassan Hassan
Glad to see this is blowing up, it is a real issue that even relatively small creators face. UA-cam is flooded with so much stolen content these days it's amazing anyone even tries to make an original video anymore, so thanks for all the hard work!
UA-cam support is insane the creators literally have to cry and beg for their help on Twitter. Crazy part is it's the only thing that works.
Except for when it doesn't and causes YT to start filing through their videos to demonetize/strike them by retroactively applying arbitrary and vaguely worded new rules.
And since Twitter is such a shitshow the spaces we can reach for help is fading fast.
See that one crazy lady pulled up to YT headquarters with a real stick up her ass and we were somehow confused for years...
UA-camrs and Twitch streamers will be in shambles if Twitter actually goes under. They have no other reliable way to communicate about their issues as f***** as that sounds.
My 2 false strikes are just a wet fart in the wind. I’m not even big enough to be monetised, but surprise surprise the channels I was critiquing are YT darlings (Dateline and Matt Walsh) and could get their YT liaison to overlook fair use and make an unlawful copyright claim. I was not allowed to argue, just cop the strike.
YT doesn’t care about creators or content. Just money
ur so real for talking about this bc this happens to a lot of creators and it’s good to see ppl talking about it especially talking about content farms and how they will blatantly steal content and not credit the OP
This is one of the many topics that DarkViperAU talks about significantly in his series against react content and video's like the topic of this one.
@@GalvanizedKeller5938 Also Jay Exci who was actually really polite and well mannered about it all but got shat on by these twitch reactors

@@okayida im not saying as the viewer, im saying as the guy posting it. if you wanna watch the vods, go for an official source then.
The frustrating thing about all this is that, even in the context of YOUR OWN channel, this video (still well-made & articulate, but rushed and reactive) which has a more famous person on the thumbnail has 500k+ views compared to the ORIGINAL video that started it all (the one that took 3 weeks to make full of insightful commentary and great production) which has only 200k+ views. I blame the algorithm. Your videos are fantastic, and looking forward to more. 😊😊
That's because the new video has added commentary on it from a second person and is more entertaining though
I’m watching this video first bc of the algorithm but I’m going to watch the og vid after. Maybe I’ll also watch Hasan’s commentary too as long it’s from a compilation channel😂
Because this isn't the same topic. I'm not interested in 'radicalization of celebrities' but content theft? Oh yea, I wanna see. Also Hasan is just scummy trash so I'm not surprised to see he steals content, literally pasting himself over thumbnails.
E: even if Hasan didn't make the content himself, his content farms are of the same quality as himself. Much like how there are 200 channels posting XqC clips, all to scrape and scum their living from others work. (and sorry I can't edit comment, YT in mobile browser is _big bad_)
I feel like creators are afraid to speak out about these things because they are afraid of being seen as money hungry or attention seeking, and it's a shame. I appreciate when creators speak out against what hurts them because it can allow me to avoid those things when I see them. Thank you for bringing this up!
Weird how that works when a corporation will steal your money for humming two seconds of a song

I am experiencing this same issues on my channel. ua-cam.com/video/eh1jrQfrM6Q/v-deo.html
If you spend weeks on something or even pour your heart and soul into your hard work you would be gutted if someone stole it with no credit your work. Nothing to do with money.

I had never considered the impact it could have on the creator they are reacting to, although reaction content is generally not what I watch anyway.
Anyway, this is the first video I have seen of yours, and much like Hassan, I immediately like your content's style.
The fact that even big names like Hasan and MoistCritikal can't do anything about it is the most hopeless part of it. What the fuck is youtube team doing??
Yesterday on stream Hasan said that he's in contact with YT about this. Let's hope for the best.
Worrying about swear words according to Moist :-/
The UA-cam team is wasting time moderating swearing.
Critikal is one of these channels now. Why would he want it to stop?
Do you know how much effort it takes doing actually important things like looking for a 3s clip of a child near a firework so they can strike the 15minute video it's in!?

I was speaking to her once about this issue and she said that when she first saw people reposting her work (when she had a much smaller following) she hated it, tried to get things taken down etc, and thought her work was being "stolen", but eventually she realised that people sharing good work on reposting channels actually helped her, the audience found her work and she became popular and successful.

Hasan ia already working on getting the reuploaded stream clip taken down, he didnt upload it after all
To note, HasanAbi (Hasan Piker) do not own that UA-cam channel nor post any of his stream or VODs on UA-cam because prominent Twitch content creators have strict established contractual agreement with Twitch thus are only allowed to stream and have their streaming contents only exclusively be made available on Twitch. Ive always thought it was cool how hasan lets clip channels use his content but I never thought about how it hurts other creators. You bring up a good point.
Also it’s actually pretty easy for anybody to claim or strike a video. It’s kind of a problem how easy it is. You couldve claimed them pretty easily and they wouldve had to sue you in your home country if they wanted to keep it up which obviously isn’t something they’d spend resources doing.
Most of the stuff Hasan reacts to is news and other streamers, when it comes to UA-cam videos its rarely anyone who doesn't want their videos to be watched.
Most of the UA-cam commentaries he watches are are content creators who are friends with Hasan and want him to watch his videos
It's a scummy practice from top to bottom. UA-camrs need to DMCA these streamers more, and streaming needs to die. It's content poison.

Your video? No comrade, our video
i hate looking up a video and seeing a wall of "[insert streamer name] reacts to [insert video name]"
sorry people are taking advantage of you and your content in this way. its one thing being okay with a big streamer you enjoy putting eyes and commentating on your vids (which is still controversial in some ways, but it's completely up to the individual and i think they've gotten much better with encouraging their audience to go directly to the channels/videos and gas up the people they watch from), but its a completely other thing for a content leech reuploading it on the exact same platform you upload on to take advantage of BOTH parties. i wish there was some kind of real resolution to this, but youtube is too busy being mad at people saying swear words to do anything meaningful.
not only that, but it seems like the only real way to get anything fixed is to yell at youtube on twitter or get a bigger creator to also yell at youtube on twitter lol

This is a huge problem that i am glad you are speaking out against. This is why Hasan is dumb when he says “I don’t care if other people upload my content on UA-cam and monetises it” because it’s not always just Hasan’s content.
Maybe Hasan shouldn’t have created this in the first place.
Wait Hasan makes content? Doesn't he just steal literally every video he makes?
It is crazy and kind of admirable that Hasan allows (many) different channels to rip his stream segments to their own channels and monetize them. But that said, I definitely see why you'd consider those clip channels taking your video, AND using the same title and thumbnail as over the line. Hasan is a huge streamer on a different platform, so him doing reactions is justified in terms of publicity and not directly stepping on toes IMO. But these clip channels are harder to justify when using the video of a much smaller creator and not pointing to you, and the fact they're on the same platform. Hasan uploads some clips to UA-cam himself, but NOT from streams of him reacting to small creators AFAIK.
W pfp
W pfp
What's the pfp
Because it doesn't matter if smaller creators steal his thumbnail because he's making much more money by simply reacting to videos. There's nothing admirable, he can simply afford It financially because it barely has an impact. And it's been proven times and times again that reaction content does not provide exposure. Most videos he reacts to sometimes don't even reach the amount channels reuploading his reaction on UA-cam get. That's not just him but everyone doing this.

This is a rare case in which it was good. The fault is not just on the VOD channel but on Hasan or reaction as a whole really.
UA-camrs can put tens of hours, even hundreds of hours, into content. When someone can easily just react and not give them the views or clicks for videos (especially multiple) is just horrible.
If the UA-camrs wanted to give exposure to these smaller creators they would give them a shoutout and or not watch a video or series in its entirety.
It’s hard to do that though since the feeling the creators give is admirable and the care they do have for the community is commendable. It feels like you are watching something with a friend and it’s fun but damaging to smaller creators.
Pinely is cool with it, like most are, but it shouldn’t be at all. At least it shouldn’t uploaded to YT since Pinely’s video is already on the site.
DarkViperAU made a great video about react channels and how they steal content. You might have heard of him from the drama he had with Charlie and in response Matto doubled down with his series that was long in the making.
Same. I literally subscribed mid stream. And unsubscribed from the clip channel (hasanabi compilations) 😅
This is the first video I’ve watched on this channel, and it just makes me wanna watch the rest of your stuff
There's something really bleak about how frequently tweeting about a person or an entity doing something messed up is the only way to get them to respond or remedy the situation.
Imagine artists and musicians having their stuff stolen all the time and have literally no one know who they are or how they look. Good on you standing up to it. Those views should be going to you
I know this will not make you feel better about the situation, but I'm one of those new subscribers because I saw Hasan's reaction. I'm enjoying your work!
Holy shid.
When I saw the title for this video for the past couple months popping up in my feed, I was like "damn maybe reactions streamers ARE the problem." That's because I thought it was their vods and clips that they or someone affiliated with them uploads. And I remember there being a drama between two creators because of these similar situations where one person was accusing the other for stealing their content for reactions, so it struck me as this being something similar to that.
When I watched the video finally today, I didn't realize there was like an actual criminal ring that abuses the copyright strike system like this.
Sorry about this man. I at the very least hope that your video gets more recognition like it deserves, and at the most hope that these spam channels get regulated and terminated!!!
There isn't a lot of times where one can feel proud for being a part of the VTuber community, but this might be such instance. VTubing community is all about clips, heck, most people don't really watch streamers themselves, they just watch edited and translated clips of their favorite VTubers. But those clips are always made by actual fans, and they usually have great relations with the talents themselves.
When one time a clipper wanted to make a scummy business out of it, he was downvoted into oblivion, until he deleted his channels. I hope something like that can happen in this sphere too.
Ew, vtubers are whack.
i think vtubing companies know that those are free marketing and allow (for now) the whole reposting. at least those are clips with edits and translations which allows them to market bigger than their native speaking countries. meanwhile these are just straight up vods cut down to a shorter length.
Yeah rules surrounding the clipping in vtubing is way ahead of its time, which is probably why they're so successful and have international outreach. If clippers know what's okay and what's not, it creates a safer environment for them and the viewers as well knowing they're not watching stolen content. It can also incentivize translators to clip too if there's guidelines surrounding the ethical practices to follow when it comes to translation/clipping. The strict accountability held in the community towards other community members while taken a little too far for my liking at times, ultimately benefits the vtubing scene when someone steps out of line like with the translators or clippers trying to start memberships and patreons.
Always give credit to the original creator, give a link to their channel, ideally directly link the video you clipped, don‘t monetize the clip, and everything is good. Those are the basic rules to showing you actually respect the person you are clipping.
Telepurte had this problem as well. The channels stealing his animations were what ultimately made him use his UA-cam channel, which was good for me since I don‘t use Twitter. =D Over time the malicious channels dropped off.
There were channels honestly uploading his animations, with credit, just so they could spread the word about him, and they always pointed this out in the comments. Those channels removed the videos as soon as Telepurte came here, since that‘s all they wanted. THAT is the definition of good faith use. ❤
I glad you spoke about this because I have YT premium so I don’t actually notice when a video is monetized since I don’t see the ads. I like to rewatch hasans reactions in the evening and I like that they edit out the twitch ad breaks, but I didn’t realize they could monetize those videos. I had already watched your video so I didn’t watch that stream but it sucks knowing that other creators I’ve watched in the past are getting skimmed for views.
THANK YOU. I've been talking to this with my friends for so long. But... I get a bit confused because I know if Hasanabi reacted to my shit... I would get a big boost? I don't know!
Kinda? If Hasan never reacts to you, you never get that boost, but if he does you'll lose views from those clip channels.
Ultimately you will gain more viewers and subscribers overall, more so if Hasan never reacted
I hate these channels with passion, I remember confronting one channel that was stealing Sidemen content and some people actually defended him, shambles
it is so wild to me that a corporation like Google won't even pay a small team of kids minimum wage to delegate cases like this to so that there's actually some kind of customer service.. I have a store in Second Life, and even for fake money I give 10000% better customer service than a megacorporation. they'll never be motivated to do better until they're not the standard anymore -- copy/paste for any other product owned by a megacorp
Long time fan of you, was pretty excited when Hasan finally saw one of your videos. Hasan allowing anyone to use IP has been usually a positive but this situation sucks, hopefully more people knowing about the bot farms will get more scrutiny from UA-cam
Thanks for making this video! I had no idea that one dude could own so many of these channels reuploading content from multiple creators. I watch a lot of Hasan re-uploads from fan channels, so it's a good reminder to be mindful of how this impacts other creators.
Ngl I found the stolen video first, I had to look you up because I prefer watching OG videos instead of reactions. I'm glad I found your channel!
What’s very weird is that this video now has more views on the original video it’s about. That’s a sin in itself, after all the work you put into it…
Drives me nuts whenever I watch a video essay and then my next reco refresh is like 4 streamers reacting to that video. I watched the original, I don’t need to watch someone else watch it & comment
Great and fair summarization! Love your essays, awesome stuff hasL
plot twist he stole the idea from someone else and then had it stolen from him
You've earn my respect my guy!
Thank you so much for participating these out
UA-cam won’t do sh*t until UA-cam creators unionise.
The proliferation of these channels is awful. It's not just twitch streamers they do it to. They do it to EVERYTHING. Sometimes when youtube slips one of these channels into my recommendations I don't realize at first because they do strive to look official. But I have been trying to block them because there's no way to report them to youtube.
THE FACT THAT THE THIEF'S THUMBNAIL STILL CONTAINS YOUR SHIRT AND ALL. OMG. THE AUDACITY
There's a misconception that react channels fall under fair use when a lot of them actually don't. You can use clips, you can make reviews, you can make transformative content from other people's videos, but what is explicitly not covered is showing the full unedited video. Pausing is not editing. The channels who do this are going purely by the "UA-cam code" that this is fine. But they will take down these videos on request, because they know their legal position is dubious.
so if i am, lets say, part of a big company, that lets say, is making shows, you’re saying that i, can sue these reaction channels?
I believe they’re still fine under fair use because they provide commentary.
@@supersucks yes, they quite literally can. I'm pretty sure they had to stop watching Top Chef of kitchen nightmares of whatever Gordon Ramsey show it was for this exact reason.
@@PixelPenguin87212 commentary doesn't make something fair use, the UA-camrs who say this are either lying or misinformed
copyright and fair use law is complicated but there have been several cases in the last few years that clearly laid out what is and what isn't covered. The main thing is if its transformative or not and if it acts as a market substitute for the original work. see Hosseinzadeh v. Klein as an example of fair use precedent.
Hey, not sure if you'll see this, but you should get in contact with Kyle Hill. He's in a different lane of content (science vids), but fighting the same people.
It's funny how those reactors basically do a similar thing but just in a way people think is okay. Reactions take a fraction of the work it takes to create the video that gets reacted to. And even if the reactors are "fair" and link everything in the description or point towards the original creator.. well guess what no one gives a shit, at least a lot less people that would've seen the original video if it wasn't for a reaction. And it's so accepted to a point where creators that put hundreds of hours of work into videos think it's okay and cool if someone reacts to the full video just because they might get " a bit of a push" or because they don't want to seem too greedy. I mean if small creators react the impact isn't that big but the big reactors up top they only grow bigger and bigger because no one other than reactors could hold up with them in term of quality of content. Because the quality comes from smaller creators who don't even get something out of it. It's sad.
I want to point everyone reading this towards the video series by darkviperAU on this topic he explains all this in much more detail. I'm not even a content creator myself really but it's just the sad reality of what reactions are (in the form most big reactors do them at least)
They like doing that kind of thing where they copy paste the whole title before adding the 'reaction/reacting' part at the end so that when you search for the same vid they always comes up either first or second, at the very least add the reacting part at the start of the title.
Wow! Good thing UA-cam just released new content guidelines against SwEaRiNg aNd ViOlEnT cOnTeNt, this will really help creators against the things that are actually challenging their successes!
I really, really do not see the difference between the reactor and the reuploader. They are practically doing the same exact thing.
The reactor didn't want this to be posted, he never made a video, it was a fan edit. It would be the saem thing if he uploaded this type of video to hasanabi channel
@@spyczech He's still using this guys weeks of hard work to benefit himself with almost no effort at all.
@@loayzc10 the obsession being over who put in effort is short sighted, and not whether having reactions and fair use protections is valuable to society an our ability to critiue and have discourse over art which is now chiefly in video format. reactions allow a creators content to be challenged or intellectually dissected and that good for humanitiy making better art critiquing in real time has value on a social or cultural level even if sure its less ad impressions 4 pinely
@@spyczech it's like you've never even seen hasan react to things. He'll literally leave videos playing, (other peoples hard work) while he goes off to make food or whatever. Fair use laws are important, and they're there to keep the creators of the original work from having total and complete control. But just because those laws are important does not make them perfect. It's plain to see that reacting to content is just a convenient (and legal) way of stealing someone else's work. They reap all the benefits without having to do practically any work. Is it really SO different from reuploading? I think not.
This got recommended to me after I finished watching Hbomberguy's video on plagiarism
Isn’t it weird how he didn’t call out his buddy Hasan for all the content he’s stolen.
@@dbnathan5 In the Plagiarism video he did technically "call him out" at 1:06:54, though it is just a small joke. I wish he had gone into that more deeply but I assume it just didn't really fit the video
I've been telling UA-cam to stop recommending these re-upload channels
Good on you for speaking up. I hope alot more people do because these channels need to go.
These channels have been around for so long and do so much damage its insane. Early compilation videos with zero credits or links to source, "translation" videos for overseas content creators that mistranslate to bait viewers into drama that don't exist for more views and well these. I wish youtube would crack down on content theft. Alot of these channels get reported and nothing happens. They really should look into channels that are being reported for it constantly.
The amount of subs and views you would have gotten from his “reaction” would never have been in an amount to make his content justifiable.
Reaction content is straight up thievery
It’s very disgusting and unfair. Hope UA-cam does something about this.
the rabbithole goes deeper lmao
I watched your original video first and later I watched hasan react to it live. I’m sorry that happened!! You deserve ALL the views and I do hope you get a lot of subs because you definitely deserve it! Your shit is awesome
People, please stop flickering the god damn backgrounds!! It's distracting and can give people headaches. Just either put an actual video in the background or speak in front of a static background PLEASE!
Bro he even left your shoulder in the thumbnail 😂😂
Bro this is so messed up, hate that this is happening to you and everyone else dude
I think this is one of those situations where I would not be opposed to a youtuber copyright claiming another channel.
