"Carl Harvey is a Jamaican born Canadian guitarist & record producer who recorded as a member of Crack of Dawn & The Aggrovators in the 1970s & later became guitarist for Toots & the Maytals. Harvey was born in Jamaica & emigrated to Toronto, Canada with his family at an early age. He began playing guitar aged 13 & also played the tuba at school. In the 1980s, Harvey became the lead guitarist of Toots & the Maytals & has been with the band for over 25 years. Harvey also toured with his own band along with Jackie Mittoo, and worked as a record producer, producing 4 albums by Messenjah (two of which were nominated for Juno Awards). He later also played lead guitar in Messenjah.
