I discovered Pink Floyd when I was 13, by 17 I already had all their albums and me and brother became massive fans. This was in the 90's which had already amazing bands, but Pink Floyd was to us the best of the best. Once I discovered weed then I went to go even deeper into their music. I'm 47 and I'm still in awe and they are still my fav band on the planet.
My older brother and one of his best friends turned me on to the "Wish You Were Here" album in the mid 70's! Even though I remember hearing "Dark Side of the Moon" before that - and I am still A Led Zeppelin Head All the Way to this day!!! "Wish You Were Here" blew me away!!! ROCK 101 KLOL in Houston, Texas. Long live the 70's...
I remember as a child in the mid-70's. My mother with me at home, while dad was at work. She would say pick out any album you like, while we were cleaning. We had Hundreds of Albums. I had heard 100's by the age of 2. This was my favorite. and still is. Lol
Put the sound on your headphones, put on your skis and start sliding on the snow. You will fly, you’re in heaven. It makes even more sense now when I’m 62. Remember when you were young, shiny like the sun… Shine on, you crazy diamond !

I used to listen to these guys in high school in the 90s with a buddy . We'd drive around and get baked. Years later his girl left him and he seemed to never get over it..long story short he ended up losing his mind and now everytime I hear this it brings me to tears and I remember the good times we had as kids. Listening to this song on a quality hi-fi system is an extraordinary listening experience. Throughout the track, there are plenty of sonic subtleties, which only high-end sound systems manage to bring out. A friend of mine had a McIntosh system and Klipsch La Scala speakers. On this system, I was able to hear sounds that other systems just couldn't bring out. My Cambridge amp and Cerwin Vega speakers are fine with me, but they don't match the McIntosh/La Scala duo.
now this should be the soundtrack to the dawn of man 2001 only because it dares to be the other it is brave and brave is not often mainstream we need something more much more we need the mind that is no longer a previous mind we lust after a new mind one that is not the past we want a new mind we want the next
There’s no doubt is about it one of the first possible rock ‘n’ roll sacrifice. For Pink Floyd, never had this sound with Syd, he was sacrificed for the sound as many others have been in rock ‘n’ roll, history. For the fame and glory of the remaining members.

My first experience was in 1973 a sophomore in high school. me and a friend went to his house @ lunch time to listen to a brand new copy of dark Side of the Moon quadrophonic edition on his newly acquired Panasonic quad stereo record player/ AM-FM radio. 4 sansei speakers in each corner of his moms living room told the whole story of the dark side album, and bit of canna. we arrive late to 4th period and i got suspended for 3 days lol well worth it. I was hooked, then the Concerts and all was good. No internet back then, we had to do sumthin, right? lol

Definitely out there, we used to listen to this while submerged on a nuclear powered fasr attack submarine in the late 70s. 77-89. Perfect for that environment.

For the pilots reading the the comments my recommendation when this happens again is to join the ILS off your last assigned heading. When LGA is departing off 31 which they were this day 150 to 90 degree headings across the localizer takes you directly into the LGA departure path where they climb initially to 5,000. The EWR sector move to PHL is a poorly executed terrible plan and the FAA needs to admit this was a huge mistake and bring them back to N90.
Who's idea was it to put bird sounds over the top of it? Why? I'll find a "proper" version of it and listen to that if you're going to mess about with it.
