    I am happy you like that grill. The good news is it doesn't cost an arm and a leg for it because it's not a grill overlay. I bought a roll 1/2" wide chrome molding trim from Autozone and installed each strip on top of the original black grill. I found 1/2" perfect to cover the width of each of those black squares on the factory grill. Do it one strip at a time and cut it to length.

    This is a very good install video. I never would have thought to replace the factory adhesive strip. Very cool. 😎

    my dad's 2004 quest has puddle lamps in the mirrors too. thanx to your video we know how to remove the mirrors to replace the puddle lamp bulbs. He also loves the LED strips. He wants to install them on both mirrors too. thanx for the instructions.
    and by the way, we loved the front grill.

    Looks good. I don't have a van lol but I wanted to see the concept. Those look thin enough where you don't have to physically cut into the mirror cover, although if you want it completely flush you could do that.

    You can definitely put some silicone. I do want to let you know that after half a year of use, everything still works (No LED burnt), but the flexible clear housing did yellow a bit due to the sun's UV. I don't think it looks bad at all, but thought I share that with you.

      Mine is completely yellow now and looking ugly... Anything that can be done to restore it?

    Yes I sold it after 1 year. I was having weird driving problems with the car and also not totally happy with it. I think the Altima is a great car, but I probably got an odd ball lemon. I traded it in for a Honda Odyssey. My wife is driving the Ody and I am now driving her old Quest. This is my fun car where I can put all kinds of crap on it. LOL.

    Good job! Thanks for the instruction! I'm going to buy that from eBay, too! Maybe you should have put some silicone sealant around the hole you drilled on the mirror housing to prevent potential water leak(In case water goes through the 3M in heavy rain).

    Thank you for your video. I'm planning on doing the same on my Volvo s60. I hope it looks as good as yours.

    Yes, I stripped the wire back, wrap the new wire on and solder.

    You will need a volt meter to test to find the pulsing 12v when the turn signal is on. The LED turn signal itself is polarity dependent, so if you connect the two wires and does not light up, switch the two wires. There is no easy way to this. If you not sure how to use a voltmeter, maybe ask if any of your friends know.

    Looks factory to me. It first I couldn't understand what you were doing or why. I am thinking next summer when I dont have 10,000 other projects to do on our van. I got it the first week of August and it needed brakes and timing chain guides. No garage wanted to do the guides so I am doing it myself. The brakes are easy. I already did the rear. I also have the replacement speaker for the back up sonar. Everyone says they don't last so I will install a resister to cut down the impedance that is frying the speaker. A simple 10k resister cuts that down. Many people do not know electronics let alone mechanics. A van is not a cheap vehicle to maintain because mechanics charge more as they are harder to work on under the hood.

    I ran mine through the front quarter panels. Going through the firewall would have been cleaner but more work.

  • @dial2fast
    @dial2fast  11 років тому

    If it's a mess, you are better off ripping all the old wiring out and rewiring it yourself. You can buy 'universal fog light wiring' kit off ebay for $20 which comes with relay and switch and reinstall it cleanly. Trying to clean up someone else's wiring is more of a headache and time wasted. Trust me, been there, done that!

    Thank you for the making this. I had bought this product on a whim for my car and when I came I said to myself that this is going to look fake and cheesy because it is not integrated it just sticks on top . But seeing it on your car I think it will pass.

  • @dial2fast
    @dial2fast  11 років тому

    Not possible with factory fog lights (this applies to most car manufacturers). Unless you do some serious rewiring to bypass the factory switch.

    Instead of running them to the engine bay, can't you run them to the wires under the dash that go to the turn signal relay?

    Hi does the lights stay on or do they only come on when you activate the signals?

    • @dial2fast

      They don't stay on. They blink when your turn signal blink.

    hello my led light side mirror has 3 wires one wire is black other one is red and other one is silver. they are 3 wires .

    • @tonyg-2jz82
      @tonyg-2jz82 3 роки тому

      Black = negative Red = positive Silver = turn signal. Simple as that splice into those and solder or electrical tape the shit out of them. Heat shrink tubing also highly recommended

  • @aguilakristoffer
    @aguilakristoffer 8 років тому

    Ok so... The bulb of my car has 3 wires. And this light has only 2 wires which is the positive and negative. Now, how do I connect those? Which of the three will I connect the two wires? Thanks.

    • @dial2fast
      @dial2fast  8 років тому

      +Kristoffer Aguila Use a multimeter to test the 3 wires and find which 2 will give you flashing +12V. To do any automotive electrical install, you must have a multimeter. No guessing here. If you not familiar with using multimeter, search 'how to use multimeter' on my channel.
