Looks great Rich! I love how you can't even tell the mirror is modded. As always you are a pro at what you do!
Now you need led turn signal bulbs to go with it!
"pimpin' fool!" --> someone has been reading my comments! lol
great job rich!
Good job with the details of the job. Seeing all the challenges gives me a chance to be better prepared. Thanks and job well done.
That is one tasteful, and dare i say, practical modification, and you did an excellent job on it, I could be tempted to do this to my own car. Good stuff Richpin.
Awesome videos! I just came across your videos wondering about adding some lights similar into the mirrors of my Cobalt SS. I'm glad I clicked on it. I had no idea you could mount the lights like that behind the glass just like how the cars that come factory are done. I'm impressed. Thanks!
Thanks for the awesome video i bought a set of LED Arrow blinkers and i want to install them into my 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe and this helps me out a LOT
Thanks for this great video and also replying my previous post . Looks like this is going to be my next project next summer . Kind a cold out side here in Canada and I don't have a garage like u . Thanks rich
Keep this up. Your Saturn is looking awesome!
I almost spilled my tea when you said: "I guess im human".
Its not that i laugh at your injury, NO. Its just how you said that thing.
I understand....lol
Any project worth doing involves the spilling of blood. That's really cool. You're taking the safety up on your car bigtime. You pimpin' fool!
Nice work!
Good work.. I'm planning on installing some LED lights on the side of my F250 front fender rather then on the side mirrors. I'm trying to decide if I should connect the wires next to the stock signal lamps or go direct to wire box .. I'm thinking about the weather "rain, snow or mud"..
Amazing!!!!!!!! Ur the man Rich. Thank you once again. I will be working on it today. Awesome awesome awesome work!!!!! ..if you like to pimp out your car even more, i've got another project for you. Let me know when your ready:)
That looks awesome man! i know what I'm doing next...
Smart.... Ingenious! Helpful! Innovative! Perfect!
Awesome! Really helpful tutorial. Looks legitimate.
Don't be sorry I'm going to put these in my car & you're vids helps a lot i'm sure that person is just a troll, the vids are not "garbage"
Really nice video but the whole time I was watching I was thinking why could not this be my car LOL. I am up in years with artheritis in my fingers now where as five or so years ago I would have give it ago. Thanks for a very well excuted video. Cheers
good video rich i did the same way on my saturn sl1 1995 good information thank you.
Thank you.
Important Update: Jan 1 2013 there will be a new richpin channel for all future videos.Richpin06a channel will be solely for all the Saturn lovers out there.Should be a lot of fun so stay tuned.
Great work!
Rich the Saturn L-Series have heated mirrors. There is a grid of defroster lines on the back face of the mirror. It would be like trying to shine light through window blinds. Just thought I'd mention that for L-Series owners. I don't think this would work for L-Series heated mirrors.
Sweet job Rich.
“Ray Ramano installs lights on Saturn” 😭😭😭😂😂
Hey thats neat. Thanks for the great videos...
wow thanks for the video im sure i will use this as a example when i get mine ! I wounder how it will look with the hazard lights on.
Turned out great.
Cool video. Might do this. Have to remove mirror and check what type of clearance I have. Thanks
Thank you for letting everyone know that.
Wicked awesome Richie!
This mod has worked out so well.
You're a pimpin fool! Lookadat!!Great video my guy!
Great video
nice job, thanks
The wires from the light had one wire with a white stripe and the other was just a black wire.White stripe (pos)+ other wire (neg)-
Thank you.
Just saw your video now. I should have watched before fixing mine just glued it on the mirror
nice job
Another nice on Rich =D
Very nice. Dose the light just show right through the coating on the back of the mirror glass. I may pimp out the mirrors on my 2000 Corolla ve. I also will do the flashing rear break light which I think is a great Safety improvement . Love your videos.
It was fun though.
Important Update: Jan 1 2013 there will be a new richpin channel for all future videos.Richpin06a channel will be solely for all the Saturn lovers out there.Should be a lot of fun so stay tuned.
Would it be possible to remove the grids.
No idea I'm about to get into shooting a video on replacing the glass from a junkyard sourced L-Series heated mirror. I'll let you know how it goes. I remembered this video and wanted a primer before starting to go at it.
nice job。
Where do you place the wires at in the fusebox. I am confuse. Thank you
We all know Rich loves his Saturn when he's pimping it out this late in the game. ^_^
Its worth baring in mind that some mirrors do not allow the light through , I have some BMW M3 style mirrors and did everything on this video but the light simply does not pass through and there was no backing on the mirrors it was silvered the same as on the video but did not shine through, so check your mirrors with an LED style torch BEFORE you buy the kit.
great advice. i've got my mirrors all set up for the arrival of the signal wiring from overseas. yet to come across a video where they list a link to find the turn signal wiring.
Very cool mod. I just have a quick question: could I tie the wires from the mirror to the front turn signal? SInce those wires are easy for me to get to.
I thought the light was not going to come thru the mirror ! So I guess I can do that to my vehicle.thanks your Richpin the pim pin!
brilliant! :)
What did you connect the ground wire too
Hold on i have a part 3 with some important updates.Mostly pertaining to the left side mirror.
The whole time I was watching this I was thinking this guy really loves this Saturn
Did you have to scrape the inside of the mirror ? What I mean is I watched another video and the guy pulled off the mirror and then scraped like the grey I wanna say paint did you have to do that ?
I have a 2000 Dodge Stratus se I got some lights from ebay too I'm watching your video very closely I do not have to connect the two black wires two black ones and a green one don't know which ones to connect
appreciate It
The dash support.
You could also have made a simple knot in the wire that wouldn't pull through the hole in the rubber plug. I really don't know why you went to all the trouble to put the arrows on your outside mirrors but to each his own, I guess. Sure not anything I would bother doing.
"Oh my God Richie...you're a pimpin' fool!"...LOL
You must be from Massachusetts...you have the same accent as a buddy of mine. He says things like rubbish...and Caaah (for car)...lol
Nice videos! I may have to do this but with one that is not the sequential flashing type...to me it is a bit annoying. I would be adding them to a mirror that already has forward facing flashers...I just want some with them facing the rear to alert people coming up on you.
Did you test these out before you epoxied them in?
nice !!!!
very new to wiring and electricical work, was just wondering what should i do with the negative wire ? do i ground that to something ?
Thats badass rich! Wish i could do it but i have heated mirrors :(
Of the two wires you pulled though the right side, how did you know which of the two to connect to the green wire? Was it marked like speaker wires are? Also, what did you do the the other wire, was that a ground? This is a cool mod! My SW2 is the same color. : )
Great vid you pimpin fool ! LOL
how didi you tie them in
Hey where r u located at was wondering if u could do my saturn 2008 aura
I will take a peek.
Yes you could.
where can i find rubber gromets like u used ?
Someone said you live in Milwaukee, is that true? I'm in Milwaukee and need a bit of assistance with wiring on my 03 lesabre. Very good job sir. Nice attention to detail! I tried splicing into my turn signal socket in my headlamp assy, but arrows STAY on constantly but do blink when turn signal is activated. My car has daytime running lamps so does that has something to do with it? Spliced into socket, positive to positive and negative to negative. Idk.... Been trying to fix this for 3 days. Do I need to run wires to fusebox? Help please rich.
Maybe with heat but you might damage the grid that way. It's best to install as 1 unit. The glass, the grid, and the oval housing are practically inseparable. Imagine a large oval shaped piece of 3M double-sided tape with the defroster grid pre-made inside of it. Let's call it grid tape. That way when it came time to install it at the factory they just peeled off the backing material and stuck the grid to glass one on side and the oval housing on the other. Video should be done by tonight.
Did you or could you just add a fuse to the existing turn signal under the dash and wire together?
There is no coating it is mirrored glass.Have you ever seen those skyscrapers with all the mirrored window glass in them i think it is the same thing.
I sure did.
L-Series mirror replacement video is up.
Very nice! Looks sweet..
Suppose your LEDs were signaled by ground instead of positive voltage, how would you do that? With a voltage inverter?
Regards
I believe the signal comes in as positive.
nice
I had question which jb weld did u use for the sealeant? I looked at my local store but to many choices
+Emprez hernandez I used the KwikWeld.
Each light has 2 wires which are the positive and negative (2 lights = 4 wires). In your video, you only showed two wires to connect to. Green wire for right, and the other for left. Now, which wire would you connect to those? The positive or the negative? And since the 2 light has 4 wires, where do you connect the other 2? I hope you understand my question. Thank you.
The other two wires are negative (ground). So you have to ground them either to an existing ground wire or to the chassis.
I had the same cut hands from fishing speaker wire few months ago rich
How much would you charge for86 cutlass
Alot of work but looks pretty cool!
O U T S T A N D I N G. Patience + expertise + common sense = DONE RIGHT. My one and main question for you RP06a: Where are you so I can take my '94 Buick Regal for this ... please! (^_^)
I googled "rubber plugs automotive" and found quite a few.
If it was made in China it will give trouble. I have had led's from China only last one day..Good luck, Nice install..
The hardest part is finding the wires that go to the directorial lights then finding the positive wire.
Sorry i tried my best.
remove the paint with paint remover only where led lights will be mounted. q-tip works great
Lol..I'll give you credit pal.
That's a big 10-4
I installed those recently, but those are mad after starting the engine. could you tell me how I can fix the problem? Come on in please...
I still can't find how to get to the turn signal bulb
hey rich. any help. I also installed the same LED arrow but the result is not so success as yours. the light is dimmed, it does not past thru. did your strip or scrap the silver paint on the backside of the mirror. pls help me rich or anybody can give help pls.. thanks
Check your wiring
@@nopoint9976 it's not the wiring its his glass. The reflective coating us blocking the light from coming through. The only thing you can do is remove the silver coating on the back.
You're a pimpin fool! That's awesome thanks
you go gramps #
It was a lot of work must have been 5-6 hours per mirror.
O..ya
Anyone tried this on a frontier?
You forgot to top-off the blinker fluid Rich!!
looks like you have a hot spot according to your camera angle
Wanna come do this on my SC2?
If your name was ....Lisa or Mary.....sure....haha.
I can always pretend.
Nice job sir
My question is this: @6:27, what did you say exactly?
Ahmed A. Mohammed a lot of work but I think it’s worth it
@@leannew666 I do understand that, my question is about what is he saying at the time mentioned
No that’s what he was saying. “A lot of work but I think it’s worth it”
@@leannew666 Just got your point dear. Many thanks to you :)
Ahmed A. Mohammed you’re welcome. Took me a few times hearing it to understand aswell.
