- A rare onboard lap from Niki Lauda's Ferrari on Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (or populary known as Mosport Park) in 1976.
Excerpt taken from "The Mythmakers" documentary, narrated by William Shatner.
It´s amazing how the circuit has remanin practically the same for more than 40 years
Yes still same
Lauda was quoted as saying that the complex of turns 4, 5A and 5B were among the most difficult to 'get right' on the F1 circuits of the day.
Agreed, they are very deceiving in their difficulity.
And he spun out in the hairpin in 1974 and Fittipaldi won. I was there.
Holy hell. This is rare. I've never seen this before, and I thought I'd seen every worthwhile F1 onboard online. Thanks for sharing.
I have raced Mosport turning 123.5 lap times in open wheel. Probably have over a 1000 laps there. It is by far the most daunting race track there is. Everything seems easy after Mosport. Except Street Circuits.
For sure one amnog the most difficult tracks. I would not overlook the Nurburgring though.
I was at Mosport just yesterday with my McLaren 720s. What a track.
Excellent track
RIP Niki🇦🇹🇦🇹🇦🇹
Adios NIKI ........ YOU ARE A GREAT DRIVER AND A GREAT MAN. THANKS FOR ALL YOU HAD GIVEN AS INPUT TO MY MIND AND MY THINKING
Excellent stuff. William Shatner doing the talking is the icing on the cake.
I saw Lauda and clicked on the video without seeing MOSPORT. I had to watch it a second time because having been on the track in a 911, turn 4, 5A and 5B looked familiar.
Now this is great! iRacing is running Skip Barber races this week on Mosport so this is a great example how to get around that track :D
Rip Niki Lauda 🇦🇹
Onboard starts at turn 3, too bad we don't get to see a Legend through a legendary corner. As always, Damn you JJ Lehto, damn you Schnitzer! The track was never the same after 1999.
This circiut amazing but dangerous for f1 if they renovated circiut maybe back one day
I learned to drive a race car there
Grazie mille pour cette vidéo👍 👏👏👏 🏁
Incredible that that they thought using music was better than the engine sound which is actually the music!
Amazing track.
Na câmera onboard mostra que estava sem a carenagem lateral, não sei se durante a corrida ou somente para efeito de filmagem e mostrar o trabalho de mudança de marchas.
Thought that narrator sounded familiar...
It looks like the video starts at turn 2.
Wow mosport, good memories there at the GP in the 70s. They eventually moved it because this place was a death trap for f1 cars (not sure if its been renovated, haven't been there in years), but yeah lots of fun back in the day
What genre of music would the background music be considered?
So glad they dubbed over that Ferrari V12 with some homosexual synth music that makes me want to leap off the 18th floor balcony
Anyone know where I can find the documentary?
O Enzo Ferrari não teria gostado dessas primeiras frases, para ele era tudo o carro
SCIENCE!
Looks easy enough.
Obviously never turned a wheel at Mosport!
music ?
