There’s a way to update them without straying away too far from their signature styling. The did it with the Q8 and the A3. Acura has also achieved redesign without going crazy like BMW
I was between a brand new Q7 Prestige 3.0T or a ‘21 Cayenne GTS. This was very compelling, I liked its “stealth wealth” appeal and sleeper vibes, but the Cayenne blew me away. I still admire these when they drive past me!
Thanks for bringing up squeaks and rattles!! No car reviewer ever brings that up! Appreciate that insight! And to add to your conversation about the MLB-evo platform, we have a 2022 Cayenne (base) that is optioned very nicely with the upgraded leather, Alcantara headliner, heated and cooled front/rear seats, the sport design package and some other needed options. Anyways, the car has about 20k miles and has developed some very annoying rattles. One is coming from the headliner where the retractable sunshade motor is, the other is the clock on the dash (that was day 1 driving it off the lot!), one of the Bose speakers in the dash hums/vibrates going over rough road (make sure you get CONTINENTAL tires instead of the Pirelli - you'll thank me later!), and the last is above the glove box (I assume where the black plastic trim meets the leather). One last issue is the engine has a weird "misfire" when is starts up after being on and driven around for about 15 minutes. It is quite an odd problem to explain, but it almost feels as if the engine is going to "bog" down and just stall. The power is also lackluster for a car this size and could use a bit more. And yes we did bring it into the dealer and they were unable to "replicate" the problems we are experiencing, which is a shame, but that's why people trade out their cars every 2-4 years - that's when the problems start (or get worse) lol! Otherwise, the car is great. Would we get another? Probably not unless it has the V8. We never did test drive the Audi because of the exterior styling wasn't "fun" enough for us. Maybe time for a different brand!
I agree. When it came out in 2020 everyone complained about lack of physical buttons and knobs, well look where we are now… at least Audi retains a separate screen designated for climate controls unlike BMW now where everything is in the same screen.
As a BMW fanboy I gotta say this is a great vehicle, and does not deserve the hate it’s getting. Only faults I can think of are the abysmal storage up front, and tall transmission tunnel hump in the second row. Also price, it’s now more expensive than the X5 M60i, and is encroaching well into X7 M60i territory. But that’s really it. It was modern when it came out in 2020, and it’s still modern now.
problem I had with the X5m60i was the seating position, you sit up on it, in the audi you sit into the seat, the BMW your legs are bent closer to 90 degrees than the Audi you legs are more straight out... more laid back sort of, and the steering in the M60 was very very light, and did not stiffen up in sport modes etc...... Otherwise I liked it, and if you start optioning with real leather instead of the sensofin the price starts jumping, also rear wheel steering and the standard air suspension (audi is standard). Overall the SQ8 I bought was quieter, less road noise, and when you want it sporty it really tightens the steering. overall it is lower roof height, and the SQ7 I drove was pretty much the same as the sq8 but more storage in the back.. yes the center console is very tiny lol
@@twfinc6855 That's a good assessment, I think it mostly comes down to personal preference. I personally love the higher more truck-like seating position in the X5. Also in terms of NVH I'm surprised you found the SQ8 to be quieter. There's a few channels on youtube that measure sound levels at various speeds (car confections being the main one), and the X5 typically beats out the competition. The X5 xdrive40i at 55mph read 49 dB, Rolls Royce quiet, most of the competition were in the 54-57 dB range. Beyond that, I agree with much of what you said.

For sure! Audi is known for its luxury and performance. The Quattro all-wheel drive system is awesome for handling, and their interiors are super stylish and comfortable. Plus, models like the Audi A4 and Q5 have a mix of tech and elegance.
It's absolutely insane that so-called luxury vehicles are such a pain in the ass to operate due to no physical buttons. I can't stand going through the screen for everything.
Love my SQ7 , it’s definitely an under the radar cruise missile, I don’t use the 3rd row. It’s more about cargo space for me. The all wheel steering allows it to handle like a smaller car. The black optic and carbon package are a must.
A NEW generation is needed!!! Longer wheelbase, shorter overhangs, etc. This vehicle is a dinosaur!! …….Also need a new Bentayga, new Urus….🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️
Does the line also have engine problems like the Q7? My relative just got told that the engine needs to be replaced and they only have 45k miles on it bought it brand new.
Nice ride, but I see no value at that price point, especially when you drive it off the lot and it instantly and exponentially depreciates by half its value in a year.
For the love of god why are manufacturers so obsessed with touch screens and piano black trims? So sick of it. If this car had physical buttons for climate control and no piano black trim it might be an awesome car.
Seeing how the Ram Limited with the high output inline 6 in your last video did 0-60 just 0.19 seconds slower than this... I'd say the Audi needs more power lol
I love your videos, but why always the top of the line versions. I think a review of some of the lesser expensive versions which most are actually going to buy would be great
I believe he underpinnings and engine of this vehicle are the basis of the Lambo Urus. Save about 50% by buying this vehicle instead of the Urus. Anyone buying a used version of any Audi without some type of warranty is asking for financial disaster when engine, air suspension and other systems begin to fail.

$90-$116k? 🤬 Overpriced! It looks so old, same design for the past 6 yrs. The interior storage is comical and 3rd row legroom is a joke even for kids. The piano black dashboard and touchscreens are fingerprints and dust magnets. This vehicle is lame and overpriced for what you get. A family suv is supposed to be spacious for a family and all of their cargo. The driver’s seat is already worn out after a handful of journalists sat on it for a few hours so with one year of ownership, it will have rips on the seats. This interior is still perfection. I don't like the cheaper interiors of the new A5 for example, and it really detracts from the overall Audi experience. Too many cheap plastics in that vehicle. This Q7 still adpts that signature Audi design language that we've known for years, and it's perfect the way it is. If this Q7 still existed 10 years later, I'd still think it's better than some of the newer Audis in terms of design and interior. Also, yes, there really is no point to do an RS version of a Q7, since this has almost RS levels of power already, I mean 500 HP and 568 lb-ft of torque is no slouch.
