All that shifting is just "visual" affects or a "power reserve" of possible "ready to use" powers or skills that the user can use NEXT round. Think of the visuals as a power limitation-basically a "tail" of what possible power or skill is coming up next round. This explanation is coming from three specific super hero systems - DC Heros, Champions and Blood of Heros.
The fight is “OK”. But the way they developed the source of the power kinda ridiculous. It’s too easy to obtain and replicate the power for every super characters.

This movie just doesn't make any sense, Captain Marvel powers were mutated from the Infinite stones as the source. Having Her DNA replicating Cosmic powers are just plainly bad writing. Thor is born God and that power is magic and how on earth they going to replicate magic into DNA? where did they managed to get Captain Marvel's blood sample when during that end game fight she's dint had any injuries. Her glowing sheild was practically not be penetrated.

"What If" showed how to do this kind of fight. I couldnt tell what was going on here for parts and the CGI looked bad.
