It is nearly impossible to pick just one thing to comment on in each shop cast. I loved seeing Maggie's donkey and the outfit was perfect for him. Kelsey's comments on socks and tee's was very helpful.Sock sprint progress visuals was encouraging. Loved the cats. Emmas summer knitting tee was lovely and her comments about modifying was very helpful. As was her comments about color. As always Kim's yoga exercises are energizing. Thank you all for the effort you put into each shop cast. You are all so very appreciated.

Well, from TWT I have learned: the utter joy of woolly wool; importance of swatching; flexibility in colours; fair isle knitting; socks are fun; tink when not happy; frogging is part of the process; yarn sniffing! Just a beginning…😄

I have learned so much but my favorite thing is hearing about the connections that the wool has to the people and history of the area it comes from. When I went to Scotland with my woolly wool, I felt and instant connection to my grandparents and the knitting that they did. I love the interviews with those who mill the wool and continue to discover the connections to people. Love the Woolly Thistle!

I watch your podcast every week without fail, because you are constantly teaching me about all the different producers of the woolly wools, especially from Europe. I'm also very excited every time you start carrying a yarn grown on this continent. My major focus, although still evolving, is to work with biodegradable, renewable fibers. This isn't a hardship because aesthetically I love the woolly wools the most! Thank you!

Fun shopcast. Socks are great for summertime knitting. No other small project is as satisfying: not everyone wears hats, cowls, or other small items but MOSTLY everyone does wear socks - and wears them year round!
I know, I know: someone might claim that they never wear socks. Well ok, but I think I’m right when I say most of us do.

Back to watching shopcasts after a sojourn to Northern Sweden where I visited a small mill (Ullforum spinneri) that produces yarn from a new sheep breed, Jämtland sheep (cross between Svea and merino).
Thanks for bringing so many luscious woolly wools from around the world to us in the US!

I’ve learned to not be afraid of woolly wools but to embrace them! They have such wonderful qualities that you just don’t get in superwash yarns. There’s a time and place for both, but the woollies and their producers truly are special.

Love hearing your theme song! Always an uplifting chat that inspires me to explore. Kelsey and Emma’s segments bring in the human part of our craft along with Corinne, Maggie, and Jill acknowledging the mistakes, mishaps, and pace that can be a part of the joy in making. - Corinne asked what TWT has helped me learn… Corinne and Donna Kay’s pattern helped me transform my “I can’t” mindset to “What if I can?!” To knit the all over colorwork Star Cardi…. I love it! It fits beautifully. TWT gave me more than inspiration, yarn, a pattern - changing my mindset was empowering! Thank you. Keep on chatting ❤

I have been watching (listening to the first few years) your podcast since the beginning. I was excited when you went to video shop-casts. I haven’t tried steeking yet but your videos showed me there’s nothing to fear. So, when i get around to it I’ll give steeking a try. I enjoy seeing all the new yarns and seeing what everyone is knitting. It’s refreshing to see when on of you says you made a mistake and what, if anything, you will do to correct it. There’s a few podcasts out there where it seems the host(s) never make mistakes ,at least they don’t admit to them, and it always makes me feel less than. I learn something with each new podcast!

Among many things I have learned from y'all is one particular video from way back by Corinne about blocking sweaters and how to do it--I send it to all my non-knitter friends who are knit-worthy and love handknits and want to care for them properly. Loved Kelsey’s and Kim segments most of all. Kelsey is just my kind of girl, just wonderful salt of the earth. I always learn from her. This time it was sock yarn amounts! I have been working on really documenting my sock knitting and now I think I can relax a little on yarn amounts. Thank you and your socks are really pretty! I’ve learned a LOT about wool: sheep breeds, woolen/worsted spun, Colors (that contrast/blend)… Sample/project discussions are a big help determining what to choose for a specific project.
I’m definitely NOT an opposite season knitter, hah! I knit whatever whenever. I “try” to knit summer tops in winter, all’s fine until I see that Gorgeous pullover. Vise versa! Oh well, all knitting is good knitting! Always have some easy sock, cowl or shawl nearby. When I’m stuck, I crochet (tote, basket, shawl)… uses different part of my brain (maybe??), different hand/arm muscles.
Appreciate “chair yoga” as my knees, hips aren’t flexible anymore (boo hoo) yet I want the stretching benefits!
Thanks again for a fabulous episode! Anxious to cast on Rambler socks!

Yes! Kelsey! Ladies' size 11/42 feet unite!! I am also trudging my way through a fingering weight tank top (in size 3x) and feel like I'm way behind. So, I have to remind myself that I'm probably making a lot more fabric, compared to my peers who are regular sizes. On top of it, all that wool in my lap during the heatwave was not very motivating for knitting or crocheting. So, while I don't have any answers for you, I wanted to give you a shout out and rally behind you with these projects for generously sized people. You got this!

Emma, I love what you said about knitting. I am a total process knitter. I don’t mind that it takes a long time. I love learning new techniques and construction methods. To answer Corrine’s prompt, I wanted to learn how to make socks a few years ago. I searched UA-cam and it just happened to be the week of the sock sprint and you had Denise DeSantis on the shopcast telling about her No Fear Sock Knitting class. Not only did I learn to knit socks, yours was the first knitting podcast I watched, and I haven’t missed an episode since. ❤

As soon as I saw Among the Wildflowers in your email this morning, I changed my Sock Sprint pattern! I had gotten a late start, so was easy to adapt what I already had on the needles and had fun this morning picking contrast colors. I am using Rambler and love it! I started the chart as I listened. I think one, of many things I have learned in the Shopcasts, is that even quite experienced knitters frog all the time. Either to correct a mistake, or fix gauge issues, or because they changed their mind on something. I have since become so comfortable with this that I do not consider it a real project unless I start over or frog at least a couple times 😊. Seeing you talk about this on Shopcast WIPs really helped me see this as just part of the process and all knitting is good knitting!

Thanks for another great Shopcast! I can’t think of a specific learning but I love all the visuals and variety of voices and perspectives - hosts and contributors alike! I am more of an audio podcast listener - this is one of the UA-cam ones I keep up with!

Hi everyone, lovely shop cast. Wish I could come to the shop but I'm in the Midwest. I'm with Maggie, my kids are too old for toys, but I knit them often. I sit them on shelves or decorate my classroom with them. By the way, welcome back, Maggie! And that's a clever idea with your sleeve decreases.

I just barely started watching, glad that Maggie had a lovely vacay, and wanted to chime in with a strong suggestion to set up a hashtag for the shop and for whenever you have special events like the Grand Opening. It'll make it easier for people like Maggie and your fans around the world to find those posts from those who were present. You can put out cards with the info for where shoppers can find you online and to encourage the to share on their social media with the official hashtags.

A great podcast as usual and congratulations on reaching your eighth anniversary. Plus a big hooray for the opening of the retail store - someday I’ll make it there. One of the best lessons I’ve learned from your podcast is that I am not the only knitter making several attempts before success. I’ve learned to appreciate the innate qualities of wool and the therapeutic aspects of knitting all while having a grand time with my TWT friends. Thank you

I have learned of many European knitting terms. Learning continental, as throwing was irritating g an old injury. More about HAPS, introduction to the ladies and history of Shetland! More about wool types, with Emma and Maggie's spinning adventures. Corrines venture into weaving. I long for my land in New England.

Another great podcast. Love all the makes. I am a left hand knitter and would love some tips on left hand knitting so I can knit a sweater without fear. Thank you ladies. So happy Maggie is back. Jill your sock story with your frenchies was so adorable. Thank you ❤

It’s always fun to sit and catch up with friends on the TWT podcast. Corrine your haircut is so becoming! Kelsey wondered how we plan our knitting related to the seasons. I don’t: there’s always at least one thing I want knit next. What I actually knit may depend on my budget or my stash or what I can’t resist but it doesn’t depend on the season. In fact, that hasn’t occurred to me, perhaps because I’m a slow knitter so I cannot plan on having a project finished at a particular time.

Congratulations on your shop opening! I’m in Virginia, but would love to visit sometime. You have taught me all about the benefits of wool and about different brands. I love hearing about your knitting and crochet projects, too! Lots of inspiration!
