  • I have kept the best to last! Monday we went to the Launceston Steam Railway, this is the railway we missed on our last holiday to Cornwall, this was two years ago and we really wanted to make another visit. We weren't disappointed what a lovely railway just like stepping back in time, Nigel and Kay Bowman have done a great job,not forgetting all the helpers. So much to see at this railway and you can ride all day for the price of your ticket.
The atmosphere was so laid back,we would love to have another visit, the Hunslet loco's were lovely also.
The museum has so much to see and I would have loved to take some of the motor bikes home with me.
Thank you to Nigel for allowing us both to have a ride in the cab of Lilian, this really made Rosie's and my holiday.
Please,Please visit this railway if you're in Devon or Cornwall.

Great video! I last visited the Launceston Steam Railway back in 1993 and have always wanted to revisit.

I love this railway,it has that old narrow gauge line feel about it..If it hadn't been for the rain shower I think Rosie would have stayed on the cab all day...Brilliant!...We hope to go again in 2022.

An excellent video, a railway that I've also enjoyed in the past, built on the old Southern Railway trackbed to Wadebridge and Padstow. It's a lovely ride and the museum is great. Lillian is a nice locomotive. Friends of the Ffestiniog Railway here, strong connections.

Many thanks! We loved our visit to this railway,as you can see Rosie had her steam fix again.Things are slowly getting back to normal in the UK,roll on when the miniature railways open again,we can then get out and film some fresh stuff for everybody.

Apart from some foliage growth Chris, it's pretty much the same as it was back in the 70's when I first visited.....Regards....Bob

They're one of my/ favourite types of engine, the small Quarry Hunslet. Some interesting stuff in the shed; that vertical boiler thing looks most interesting.

That makes three of us Andrei, the red one is just like my 7 1/4" gauge loco a 3" scale model but without the tender they made them to carry more coal and water on this railway. We would love another visit as there was just so much to see.The bikes were nice to!!.....Many thanks for your comments.....Best wishes Chris.
