Samsung have really upped thier game since years ago. We used to laugh at TouchWiz, but now OneUI is one of the top Android UI. Now they are offering 4 years OS update + 5 year security (better than Pixel!). Now, their camera are also top notch.

I'm a Samsung fan and really prefer the Samsung rendering.
But in fact I preferred the rendering of the S21s, the S22s have too much contrast and a slight problem of overexposure, not to mention the HDR which is worse than that of the S21s, and especially the colorimetry which was almost perfect on the S21s once the scene optimizer was deactivated and the natural display screen mode was set .
I really hope that Samsung will fix this problem.
Ps: did you turn off scene optimizer and choose natural display mode on samsung?

I used my brother's S22+ and I own a Iphone 13. Both the phones have different post processing algorithms but when you edit photos in lightroom / photoshop Iphone photos are a lot better for colour correction. Correcting oversaturated photos is a nightmare as when you are working on one colour another colour gets some wired effect. Both the phones require colour correction if you want to use those files for any work. And here the iPhone wins by a huge margin.

Tried out the S22 6.1 inch version in store here are my thoughts.
    PROS
    1. the camera is really good both selfie and rear for video as well as for photos.
    2. the UI was swift.
    3. the phone feels nice and compact in the hand and the build quality materials wise is solid as good as any premium phone you would have held in hand.
    CONS
    1. when i went to the store the phone was switched off so i started the phone it was nice and cold because of the AC in the store but within 10 mins of using the phone i could feel the heat near the camera area on the rear side of the phone this is me not even playing any game but just casually opening a browser or checking the settings area and snapping a few photos.
    2. after i records videos in 4K and clicked a few photos i.e. 10 15 more minutes the phone was really warm and my hands were a bit sweaty not something which i expected.
    3. in camera app turning on stabilization for video only 1080p was supported no 4K but the quality was good for 1080p in terms of stabilizing but why not support for 4K
Just the heat is a big turn off for me and for that I am going to pass on what seems like
a solid designed phone and a great form factor but the fire breathing dragon can cause issues when
    1. you tuck it in your pocket after using it for a while , the heat is discomforting.
    2. if you are out using Google Maps with GPS + 4/5G network and having your music streaming in the background etc..
    3. if you are gaming on this phone longer
While I did not do any significant battery tests so i cant share much on that.
I might end up picking the Apple iPhone 13 128GB base model the S22 had my hope high.

I am using s22 for few months now.
      It's okay.
Actually, all compact phones are going to run warmer because of fluid dynamics and heat transfer laws.
It is not possible to get a compact phone with same cold running temperatures as a bigger phone.
It is the reason why gaming laptops are bigger than notebook style laptops.
I really loved s22. One of the reasons was the size. It's handling every everything pretty well. I am also a casual gamer. I could play CODM with highest graphics setting on for ours.
The only thing which really bothers me is battery.
      Though I already knew it.
Same physical constraints govern this issue as well, but I really feel this one.

Have been following Techwiser for a long time now and really love all their content but recently a pattern/bias is very clear in these camera comparisons.
It is quite evident how unwillingly the iPhone’s wins are reported while the Samsung’s advantages are talked about in more depth (like HDR). There are several other reputed channels which go to great levels to come out with a balanced result.
Also, a big part of the user experience these days is the integration of camera and software with 3rd party applications like Instagram and Snapchat because an overwhelming majority of users just use the in-built camera application and now it is no secret that Android devices struggle here. But unfortunately, there is no such test here.
These videos are now making me wonder how should I trust other videos of Techwiser!
PS: iPhone 13 onwards you can change Photographic Styles and chose to have cool, contrasty photos as well (among other styles and this is not just a colour filter) as opposed to warm photos. But obviously this didn’t matter in this camera review for them I guess!

For me, I can't choose iPhone anyday, if i do then i have to carry an extra android. Because for me, file system accessibility is the most important. I can literally download anything in my phone (even if my phone doesn't support the file type). Once my friend told me to download videos from a google drive link and stitch them together. While she cannot do that in her much expensive iphone, i can do that in any android.

At this point, both phones trade blows and quality on both is superb. WHAT MAKES A LOT OF DIFFERENCE THO IS:
*WHEN YOU UPLOAD TO SOCIAL MEDIA*
1.) Let's face it. No professional photographer will choose either phone for professional work.
2.) And People who will use these cameras are 90% of the time going to post it on social media. (Instagram, snapchat, facebook, tiktok etc)
-- and we all know which phone can "shoot and upload directly" from a social media app without the quality getting too much compressed.
--so for the vast majority of people, one phone (regardless of how GOOD it is in taking photos and videos), when they shoot and upload it directly from an app, it'll look like garbage.
--while the other phone, will look so much better

Regardless of the history of previous Samsung devices and the heated debate about which chip is better, this time the S22 has a Snapdragon chip on it, 8 Gen 1.
I have the same phone from pre-booking and had updated it right after I set it up, so I know what conditions you're talking of. The phone DOES get hot, even with regular tasks such as watching videos, high brightness, prolonged camera usage.
I've read and heard that most 8 Gen 1 chips run hot, regardless of the phone (except a Motorola I guess).

Having said that, I'm hoping for Samsung to push a future update where the boost clock is slightly improved in its CPU Governor profile. But then again, the performance would face a slight hit.
      Just my 2 cents.

@@sanketss84 It does not heat all the time. If your brightness is less than 30% and you're not doing some pip activity along with using other app (for instance watching a YT video while scrolling Reddit/Instagram), then it does not heat.
I don't play games on my phone but I don't have to test it to tell you that the result won't be disappointing. I'm sure it'll reach 50°c easy.
Expect your phone to heat while using maps with gps. And in case you happen to be near or in direct sunlight, then RIP. I can't imagine how hot it'll get.
If software updates in the near future don't solve this, then I'll see about getting the device checked at authorized service center.
