I can't really tell a difference between Siri's responses now vs. before. Almost everything I tried just returned a website result. Like its no different than just searching in google, couldn't even dictate anything back.
This is probably the most useful feature and it's added on your normal phone app . But natural and local language support is needed as not every conversation in my country happens in english
I would say that the new Siri is at best 20% better than the previous one. It still cannot process simple sequential and contextual requests gets confused about calendar entries, addresses, making reminder/calendar inputs and searching messages or emails (it gets confused which to search). Not to mention that its proposed message responses are totally lame. Image clean up is not bad… errrm.

Either two things: She's lazy to go further or it's a UI problem. Since in IOS, the option you want is right there. On Samsung you need to find it first. To me on IOS the UI is easier to navigate since, well, there's basically no navigation.

I love how those two who replied to you, quickly answered using Apple's marketing excuses. Every year, Apple claims that they have the most powerful smartphone on the market, yet everytime they introduce a new feature, they say because of hardware limitations, they can't bring such features to older devices. On the other hand, all Android OEMs where able to port their latest AI features to their 2+ old devices. A basic feature like night mode was exclusive to their latest iPhone when it was announced by Appla, again "due to hardware limitations", yet Android phones were able to send it via updates to their older devices, Huawei gave it to their 3 years old phones back when they introduced it.
It still has a lot of work needed. I asked for “when is my next call?” And it sent me to the AppStore to download an app for calls. 😂 I then asked “what are some popular 80’s new wave bands?” and it sent me to a Wikipedia excerpt about 80s band inc. Motley Crue and Def Leopard at the top of the list.😅 Should they have enlisted their Apple Music Curators to have trained Siri with customized better data? Come on Apple!? You guys need to do better.

Absolutely nothing available in the EU. I knew we couldn’t get much but I had at least expected the new Photos clean up tool and maybe screen border illumination for Siri but nada.
Man i am also from EU and I am using all the features of 18.1. You have to change region to USA, phone language to English US and finally change region in your iCloud settings. I've done these 3 things earlier today and I was able to install 18.1 pubic beta and I was able to apply for Apple Inteligence in phone settings. Try it out man, it does work in Nethelands
I asked Siri two simple questions that I’d normally ask ChatGPT and it was just like talking to regular Siri (Apple Intelligence is enabled). Too soon imo guess. I asked it. 1. Tell me some of the cool things you can do? And it went into something about colors being cool. 2. I asked it could it retrieve information from the internet and give me updated information on it. Initially it was like “huh”. Then it simply displayed search results like it did prior to AI. ChatGPT on the other hand is a different beast😂. That said I’m glad there’s going to be an integration with it.

I keep telling people Apple Intelligence is locking intelligence voice dictation which I use because I don’t the keyboard - dictation is way worse with iOS 18 compared to iOS 17. Like right now typing this message twice the iPhone refuses to type iOS.

I'm in a weird boat with Apple Intelligence. I have an M2 iPad Pro, an M3 MBP which supports Apple Intelligence. But my iPhone 13 pro, what I use the most in the day, doesn't have it. Maybe I can summarize phone notifications on the Mac.
As an android only guy for years who still wishes apple would allow you to customize the phone way more, I don’t understand why anyone gets on and bashes apple for this stuff. Yes pixel might be ahead in some areas. Samsung too. But apple is clearly ahead in others. It took a long time for people to convince me to try apple but I finally did and don’t regret it. They are all just as good as the other just in different ways. Every user will have their own experience. What you value in a phone someone else doesn’t. The iPhone took leaps in my opinion over some years but have slowed down in recent years, so what. If you don’t like apple don’t buy it. But to brag here about your phone is silly seeing as after trying them all apple definitely has a smoother operation.

These features are over 10 years old. I just had a audio conversation with chatgpt and within 15 seconds I had nearly forgotten it was AI. Then the realisation that it made no difference to the quality of the conversation. And this is just 2024. So if Siri can’t understand what I’m saying, it’s literally trash.

i just got it a few hours ago. have not used it yet, packing for 2 weeks in the caribbean ill play with it on the plane.
