I've never forgotten The Numbers, saw then many times in Melbourne early 80s, can recall gigs at Tiger Lounge (Bridge Rd Richmond), Macys (Toorak Rd Sth Yarra), The Armadale (maybe). Annalise has a little bit of Debra Harry and it only helped matters that she played the bass with gaffa tape wrapped around her fingertips.
What an terribly underrated band The Numbers were, this is a briliant song, I had the great pleasure of seeing them play with Mi-Sex at Bombay Rock in Melbourne way back in the early 80's, it was a brilliant gig!
Does anyone remember when "Bumper Farrell" was a bouncer at The Antler?.What a nasty, violent a hole.Great pub though, had some great nights and saw some wonderful bands.
I saw them at the caringbah inn with a keyboard player - much fuller sound... spotted Annalise at the bar and went up to her to say hello but chickened out...oh well...
I loved this song 🎵
This is one of the best Aussie songs of all time.!!!!!!!
