  • I'm a HUGE fan of WHOOP but not bought into everything they do. I am a fan of the new feature and seeing my mental stress, as I've had other videos stating how I've used WHOOP to improve my mental health. However, I don't believe the breath intervention will catch on. What're your thoughts?

Thanks for the video. I would love that instant notification option from Whoop... I've been looking around for this feature. More instant feedback for me would create more awareness around the increased stress level for sure.

Thanks a lot for the video! I am actually looking for this instantenous notification telling me "You're stressed buddy!", because during my workday which has tons of online meetings my mindfulness and groundedness isn't its best - I only notice my body's alarms (fight or flight / panic state) too late. So I personally wouldn't turn off this feature.
Now I wonder what are your thoughts on Whoops stress monitor vs Fitbit Sense 2 which has the cEDA sensor that continuously monitors micro-sweat and so on, combining it with HRV and other metrics?

    Good video man.
    I have a question.
You say the breath work in the app is treating a symptom and not treating the cause.
This I agree with but, my question is, are you expecting Whoop to be able to know an individuals stressors and solve that for them?
Everyone has individual stressors and trigger points and Whoop can’t account for that. This is going to be something individuals will need to look at themselves and read literature (like you have done) to better help prevent those stressors in the first place?
This might be where Whoop becomes a useful tool, like you have found, and people can see the fruits of their labour by seeing low stress scores?
    Would love to hear more!

That's my point. All the other data within WHOOP is provided in an easy to read score, which the stress monitor is. But the Press release and the market differentiator that WHOOP is stating in their press release is that it is a real time stress analyzer AND provides immediate interventions. I've been able to use the data without the stress monitor, and do my own due diligence on how to improve. This is the first time WHOOP is somewhat prescribing the intervention, rather than require the user to do as we all have with the other data, take on our own actions.

@@WesJH I see what what you mean.
When I read it, it kind of does.
To be honest, I didn’t even read the article because I used to use Garmins stress monitor before and looked at it being similar to that.
Normally with new features, once I get the general gist of these things from the product explanation, I stop reading.
I will also take up your recommendation on the breath work book also
