You're absolutely right- an integrated Octaver would make this a truly innovative concept. Would almost make it it's own instrument type at that point.
Well, I bought two of them, one 4-string and one 5-string, from photos they sent me of the batch currently in production. They are my Xmas present to myself! As far as an octaver goes, I think they'll sound fantastic through my E-H Micro POG.
Honestly, I agree it’s a bit expensive, considering their upcycling off-cuts/leftovers from other instruments. If the price was 2/3 what they retail for I might be able to justify it. They seem like great instruments though, the UA-cam channels that have played them all seem to enjoy them
I have something similar to this! It's tuned like a Bass VI but like a capo on the 12th fret. It's still a very tiny 25½ inch, which is still positively microscopic for a bass.
Do we need an integrated octaver? Every bass player have one on their board and with portable aux preamps like Katana GO - You can have one also when You sit on a tour bus. BTW Mayones is great
I just got a set of flatwounds for my Kala Ubass, and it's like a new instrument. No more intonation problems, sound great, much more playable than the rubber strings.
These are so cool. It's too bad I can't get one anywhere lol. I ended up having WingBass make me an 8 string version with a built in PitchForm (EHX) switching. Cool, but it's not for me (anymore). So selling it. I love the SOUND of this Mayones, though!
I contacted Mayones in Gdansk, Poland directly. Their sales manager responded. That, I think, is the only way to get one. They make them in batches of about 12 at a time. He sent me photos of the bodies currently in production. I got my first choice of the 4-string, but the 5-string I picked was sold before I got back to him the next day. I settled for my second choice for the 5er. The 4-string version is 1450 € and the 5-string version is 1470 €. Polish VAT is 23%. Shipping within the EU is included. I'm in France, so that works great for me.
The USB rechargable battery is such a no brainer. It's amazing no one else does it. Also: Why can't we get phantom power for active basses? Mics have had it for decades.

It's a bit on the expensive side for an instrument I'll probably never take out on stage, but they look so much fun!
Or take it on stage and turn a ton of heads.

just a bit.
Bass prices are at all time ridiculous levels … this one even more
I'd buy one in a heartbeat if I could make it sound like Kai does. He's such a monster!
I agree, he sounds best to me of all players here

Curious to know which octaver you would like to have built-in?
Meatbox
Ashdown would be rad, too
Octamizer
I modified a Stratocaster into a five string with this tuning but fretless. Definitely wanna put a bass pickup in it now.
If I was stupid, filthy rich I'd buy this in a heartbeat.
If I was just filthy rich I'd have bought it in a heartbeat! No need for the stupidity, "just take the money" 😂
Redefining Stanley Clarke's piccolo bass... an oxymoron I've always appreciated
I want a standard scale and of those but I still want the body to be tiny lol
Anyone who buys such an elegant mini bass will certainly have a very relaxed financial situation
6 should be the next logical step 😂
I have a Kala but can't get over rubber strings, this mini bass could be a bit more practical.
I hate how they stretch so much when you slide

I have to buy one of these. Message sent to Mayonnes. I think this would be a perfect "bass" to play through JamOrigin's new MIDI Guitar 3.

Just too much $ for a novelty bass
My bad shoulder would love this
This would be so fun with a Bit Commander!
Doesn't match my budget but I love little things like this.
I plan to be a nomad next year and this would be perfect ;-)
Your gonna be a bum?
😂 I want one that's headless, with multiscale frets, but equally tiny. 4 strings will do me fine. P+J actives would be delicious.
Vimana II by Meridian Guitars (Italy) ... Totally handmade, better quality and a bit pricier (just a bit tho).
Fits your description.
@@PFFFFFFFFFFFFVTHAT'S INCREDIBLE! THANK YOU!! ❤
This is my dream... Dear Santa,
Super cool bass!
I want one of these so bad, but 2 grand is a bit excessive...
Real fun
We're just in uke territory at this point.
I thought of that when I first saw the image.
And in uke octave register.
Id love this as a 6 string
If it were a 6 string they could not get away with calling it bass.
How much?
1.8k+ $
too much
@@armignac the car I've been driving for the last 8+ years cost the same as this. I get much more utility from the car than I would this
"Couldn't Find a Capo" - How to say you own too many bass guitars without saying you do.
Ya gotta see his "Bass Faces" with a full size one
Haaaaaaaacoughcough
Nice
Hermoso
Who wants to see a video of Frank Itt playing this? 🤣
👍👌
Expensive Toy

Also:
Why can't we get phantom power for active basses?
Mics have had it for decades.
One essential piece of information that is MISSING!!!!! WHAT IS THE AVERAGE PRICE??????
Definitely too expensive.
Cool to see but no real interest.
What's the point...?? 🙄
Ask Stanley Clarke.
1. Ergonomics.
2. Carry On Luggage.
3. .....
Feel free to add your own.
Isnt the point to use otherwise wasted materials? Turns out there is a market for this. ( to expensive for me though)
Yes. All of them. 😂
