What if it rains on your test - how would you need to drive? Believe it or not, this is a fairly common situation, especially during the summer - so in this video, we will show you exactly what to do to remain safe, and pass your driving test in the rain!

I took my motorcycle test in June in 2016 and it was sunny and warm, and incidentally took my drivers licence test last June, again clear skies and sunny. Passed both the DAS and car licence first time. Good weather is beneficial for your motorcycle test.
I've don't over 20 tests a few years ago and 20 more recently and I've not driven in rain yet. It is possible depsite this being the UK. I'm watching this video as the forecast is for rain today 😂 😂 😂 but then knowing my luck it won't rain today
well... if it's raining that bad, at least you know your Tell Me won't be an under-the-bonnet question ;)
The tell me question is where you explain how, you don't show them how. The show me will always happen during the test, for example an emergency stop or using certain functions safely whilst driving

It started to rain during my test, nerves got the better of me and I forgot about the distance requirements, until the examiner pointed it out to me. I instantly thought i'd failed, turned out not, passed with 2 minors! :)

JUST WANTED TO SAY A MASSIVE THANK YOU FOR THE CONTENT UPLOADED - PASSED MY DRIVING TEST FIRST TIME ON THE 1ST OF FEB, IT WAS SNOWY AND THE CONDITIONS WERE QUITE BAD BUT THE TEST WENT AHEAD AND I PASSED WITH 0 MINORS!

The most difficult thing about driving in the rain can be reading the road markings, especially if they are faded. If you do not know the area or do not have vast experience and great awareness it can be challenging and you can easily end up making a serious mistake but not seeing important road markings.
If you end up in the wrong lane, then go the wrong way. The examiner won't fail you for taking a wrong turn if it was unsafe to take the other turn as directed

They cover everything here its the best on youtube (Trust me ive seen many) Advanced Driving is just that.. i learnt more here than i did with a real instructor. 2 minors al take that.. Defensive driving is Key for me and the most important the thing to remember more than anything is Forward planning dont look down, look up and see what's coming UP. 🍾😁

I think it’s just because we are so used to walk in the rain, and don’t realise that we are still in the rain but in the car lol 😂

I was failed my test last Monday I’m so disappointed 😔 I was so close to passing this test I was done everything good and when I need to go Westly Road I was did very small mistake I got 8 total falt including 1 serious falt I’m very hope less because my theory will be finish on 21st April 😞
That's enough time, just don't be nervous. A way I like to look at the road, is that everyone besides me has right of way😂

Don't start your test with the fuel warning light on, like above! :D
Unless it’s you own car, then it’s the instructors responsibility to make sure there is enough fuel

Gonna get my friend who's learning to drive to watch this channel.I swear learners should practice in all weather and at night though, I even had a few of my lessons in the dark, snow ect.I was naughty and went on the motorway as well, it's good that learners are allowed to now.I was confident enough to drive to Poland the week after passing 😁

Just had my test and failed because my approach speed at a roundabout was too high because of the weather. He said if I did that speed normally it would’ve been fine but it was heavy rain so it should’ve been slower. Thought I was going to get away with good weather but nope! Just as we set off it started pouring it down. Gotta love england. Hopefully I’ll past on my second attempt

I’ve failed my first ever driving test on Monday 28th with 2 serious faults and 12 minors. I got 6 minors for steering wide repeatedly hence a serious and I got a serious for following a car too close where the examiner intervened and told me to hang back. Otherwise I got an easy test route and followed road signs. I didn’t cause any real danger so I drove form the test centre and stopped outside the test centre with a smooth drive.
I’d consider it a learning experience as I was fully prepared, but my 2nd test is booked in three weeks time. My instructor will be helping me work out on the errors and help me regain the confidence.
Yes, hopefully a few lessons to polish up your faults and you could pass next time. Good luck!

The official guidance from the DVSA is to turn up for your test as normal, and if the conditions are safe the test will go ahead. If the examiner decides that it isn’t safe, then they will postpone the test to a later date. Good luck!

I always set these videos up onto my onboard display so i can watch these videos while driving, helps so much!
Please don't watch videos whilst driving, that is very dangerous. You're distracted by the video and won't be paying enough attention to the road and could end up in an accident

Also will you be failed if you can’t work wipers like if it’s a new car just before the exam...
It’s a Fiesta ST. Yes, you will need to know how your wipers work - as the examiner won’t do it for you!

I just want to ask what is the best spread limit to drive in rain or wet conditions
That depends on what type of road you are on / the road surface / sharpness of any bends / hazards present etc. You must decide what speed is safest. 👍🏼
As ave got a car now. Do you know when I have to change my wheels as you have to change after so long Cos ave not got a clue
Unless they are damaged, there is no need to change wheels on most cars (apparently on a Bugatti Veyron the wheels do need replacing every so often). If you meant the tyres, then the Highway Code tells us what to look out for 👍🏼

no advices to roll down and up side windows in order to clean up it of the rain drops
today was my driving test, and everything was going right and very good, but in the middle of the test it was pouring rain, and the speed was 50 was driving 40, and I did everything well...but was shocked when he said I failed because of the slow speed I don’t know what is fair If a student fails because he follows his and other's safety !! i don't know what to say!! in general, I will try again and will not give up!

What is the safest way to drive in evening when its raining non stop, as one can see from front and back mirrors bit door mirrors side ones are not clear due to rain on them, so should we keep the safe distance from the front car aka 4sec gap as side mirrors don't help in such situation???
Drive a little slower in the rain (as you have less grip and visibility) and ensure you don't follow the car in front too closely in case they brake suddenly. Pay attention and you should be fine 👍🏼

1 feb 2020 is my driving. test.iam from Australia. there is 💯 percent thunderstorm ..so i m confused should i go for it or cancel that??
You've got nothing to lose - go for it! If the weather is too bad for the test to go ahead, they'll rearrange it for you probably.

The worst thing is that imagine ina driving test you’ve always drove when there isn’t rain nor have u used the controls in the car
In all fairness rain isn’t too bad, keep control of the vehicle and keep the view clear and you should be ok.
Hi i need to ask one thing my instractor told me to go from middle on single carraige way round about no need to go from left lane because its sigle carraige way is that true because after two days my test please reply me soon there is no marking on roundabouts
Junctions can vary so we can’t advise what to do without being there. I’m sure your instructor knows best 👍🏼

Thanks it was positioning on the dual carriageway as I was driving on the right hand lane and the other one was signaling at the wrong time

What is anti lock breaking system?
It helps you stay in control when braking hard or on slippery surfaces. Google ‘ABS’ for a more thorough explanation. 👍🏼
I knew somebody who failed the test, because they didn’t use the de mister
We must know how to use all of the cars wiper and de-mister controls, so we can maintain good visibility through the windows. It’s not the examiners job to do this, so if we can’t see, and can’t fix the problem - the test might be stopped. I’m sure your friend improved their car knowledge before their next attempt at the test!

Is not pressing vehicle checks serious fault ? So i find it distracting especially during a test 😅when you have your own car you’ll turn it on in your own time 😂😂😂😂
If your car control is affected whilst operating the wipers etc then you could be given a serious fault. Make sure you learn your test car thoroughly so you can operate it safely. 👍🏼

Please I have questions if Driving exams missed to see speeds limited national speed limits sing Single carriageway county narrows area , if I ask to examiner what spped limite ?
It’s your responsibility to know the current speed limit - the examiner won’t help with that on a test.

The examiner will probably cancel the test if there is snow or ice - and then rebook it for a later date.
