Mercedes AMG GT3 DIY Steering Wheel for Fanatec Universal Hub

This video shows my custom-made Mercedes AMG GT3/DTM style inspired steering wheel. It has a diameter of 30 cm. The rim is mounted on a Fanatec Universal Hub.
Big thanks to the customer support of Fanatec who made it possible to get 4 of their special micro connectors for the Universal Hub. Normal JST ZH 1.5MM 4 Pin weren't reliable.

Hey many, this is a very beautiful steering wheel. I'd like to ask you where did you connect the buttons in the steering wheel and if you used an usb encoder where did you hide it. Thanks!
Hello, thanks. I didn't use any USB encoder. Is just the universal hub from Fanatec. The only thing that was really hard to find are the little connectors for the board inside the hub. In the end all called Fanatec and I was quite lucky because they could sent me the original cables plus connectors. Normally they don't sell it separately but they got back a broken hub. Really nice from Fanatec. It's really complicated to build a good steering wheel. The cover of the grips didn't last long. They were self-adhesive, doesn't work. In the end it was expensive as well. Next time I would buy a rim at Turn Racing
Where do i have to send my order?
The most difficult part are the grips. The first try with a self-adhesive AlcantaraI didn't work. I guess the best thing is to do it how turn racing it. But for this you need a lot of machines. In the end I spend almost €1,000. So the new BMW steering wheel from Fanatic isn't too bad. Expensive for sure, but DIY can be expensive as well
