      hey, guys. Friday I purchased a new thermostat housing off your site.
      I'm stuck at the 8:48 part in the video because I'm not exactly sure where to jack up at. Is that the bottom of the oil pan?
      The motor mount housing wont seem to wiggle out no matter how hard or which way i try to take it off. Is this because I have to place that jack underneath to lift up the engine a bit? I can't see exactly where in the video. Is that the bottom of the oil pan where she's positioned the piece of wood at to support the engine?

    Excellent video I do have a question though, if some of us folks do not have the vacuum gauge to pull air out of the system, can we burp the system in the same fashion and achieve the same results? Thank you

    One thing I suggest is to put a piece of cardboard, at a minimum, behind the radiator, to protect it, or you will have another replacement to perform.

    hey, 1A Auto. I purchased a new thermostat housing for my 04 accord through your site. 2 things i have quick questions about:
    1. does the new thermostat housing come with the needed O ring for the bypass coolant pipe?
    2. I am in the garage and following the exact steps in this video. I am stuck at the part where I'm trying to wiggle off the Motor Mount Housing. I'm not sure if I'm jacking up the right spot from the bottom. Can someone give me some clarification on exactly where to place the jack and piece of wood? Is that the reason why the mount housing wont slide out, bwcause I'm not supporting the engine properly?

    Thank you for the excellent tutorial on the thermostat and also for the one regarding changing the starter which helped me immensely on my 2007 CR-V. Now I have a severely corroded heater pipe which runs from the thermostat housing, passes above the starter, below the intake manifold and then under the air filter housing to the heater hose. Can you please briefly list procedure for its removal and replacement? I have the old pipe completely disconnected and loose, have removed engine and radiator upper plastic protectors, battery, throttle body hoses, air filter housing and have disconnected most of the surrounding wiring. Just cannot seem to snake the pipe past the starter to get it out. Is there a trick?? Do I need to also remove the intake manifold, starter, or other parts?

    Nice video for accessing thermostat housing, but she never touched the water passage Title is misleading.... there is a O ring between the water passage and the block that can leak.

      which O ring? should i replace it when I am doing a thermostat. I have an CEL on my 04 accord with P2185-Engine coolant temprature sensor 2 circuit high

    • @Gevans5472
      @Gevans5472 4 роки тому

      Saeed Ahmed no. Not associated with the thermostat. It’s between the water pump housing and the engine block

    • @joehalligan7497
      @joehalligan7497 4 роки тому

      @@Gevans5472 was confusing to me at first too. what the title is calling the water passage housing is the housing that bolts on to the water passage and accepts the thermostat inside of it.
      I guess to clear things up I should point out that it is the first piece she put on the passage after sanding! hope this helps someone!

    I have have question when replacing thermostat housing is silicone required

    • @divi6401
      @divi6401 3 роки тому

      you don't have to use silicone if you a seal or gasket with the thermostat. You only use silicone when you don't have a seal or gasket. But always check first to see if one is available at your local auto part store. Note sometime thermostat parts will come with a seal or gasket in their package.

    guys, it's been 2 days now since i commented for some assistance. I can't wiggle off the Motor Mount housing. Is it because I need to jack the engine and trans up higher? I'm just scared to attempt that because I don't wanna break the trans housing and bend the oil pan.. anyone have thoughts on my issue?

      That's an Intake manifold. Remove it and you can see everything. I didn't use swivels either. A deep well 12mm 3/8 drive for the top bolt, a 1/4 deep well 12mm for the hard one in the back, and a 12mm ratchet wrench for the bottom one. No motor mount or fan removal required either.
