    I love this! Keep doing the Honda vids! I'd be interested in seeing a vid on flushing transmission fluid.

    Just got done with (actually haven't bled yet), you made it look super easy. It's not exactly hard but i struggled both getting the hose off and taking out the bottom bolt. Hopefully this clears my code out.

      My coupler just refused to come off no matter how hard I pulled and wiggled it. I ended up breaking the damn thing.

    I had done everything u had done in the other video and I never would’ve thought it to be the thermostat but I guess u answered that question for me. Have to try it tomorrow. Thanks

    Can you tell me how much in liters coolant came out after the third bolt removal? I only have half gallon Honda coolant left and might try to do this with it anyway.

    Would you recommend changing the rear and front housings for billet aluminium parts? With the original dual plunger 78°C thermostat? It's €356 though. It's for longevity sake.
    Or is the fiberglass-plastic one alright for day to day use? Original, front housing with thermostat €106. Overpriced tbh.

    Did you reconnect the square clip?

    Hey bro I think your videos are dope! I have a 03 Honda Accord with overheating problems and I’m going to be changing my axles on her soon. I genuinely want to start upgrading my engine and stuff. If you have any idea on what upgrades are necessary to make her faster I’d appreciate it. I’ve already pretty much rebuilt the suspension

      We don't have any performance upgrades on it either, but maybe in a future video we'll throw a turbo on it

    What does it do when the thermostat messes up? I think mine is stuck open or closed and is overheating the car.

    • @VeryGoodGarage
      @VeryGoodGarage  Рік тому

      If it's stuck closed, then coolant isn't going to the radiator and the engine will overheat. If it's stuck open, then coolant will flow through the radiator even when cold, causing the car to take longer to warm up to temps

    Does the thermostat have a number on it for replacement?

    I cannot remove the coupler before the thermostat for the life of me. I tired a pick and silicone based lubricant and I just can’t get it off. I give up.

    man my housing unit is not like this in my 2003 accord, I have one bolt that is on the opposite side and I have no room to maneuver the bolt out, that’s all I need out

  • @ripplesnake
    @ripplesnake Рік тому +2

    Yeah no the coupler between the thermostat and the hose doesn't like to come off, you got really lucky. And don't break it because it's a dealer-only item for around 33 bucks for a piece of plastic.

    I wish it was that easy on the 2003, 2000cc model. You have no access to the thing. You see nothing. I'll try from under the car with the guard off.

      2000cc wow, that's like the opposite end of the spectrum in power than mine
