video well done, no wasted time, direct and to the point.
Good video. Great up close shots and good editing. Thank you
Hey man, Thnx a ton for the vid, the neighbour's throttle spring came off, and for the life of me I couldn't figure out how it was routed before watching this.
Thanks for making this video , 3 dollar part and I am back in business. Took all of three minutes.
great video...I live near where those parts are made.. I'm glad they made it to you
Always so thorough and clear. thanks
Thanks for the video. I used the information to verify throttle linkage was correct on my Huskee mini tiller. It was a great help.
love that auger. so handy. good job Donald.
Thank you, you are gifted in explaining multi step repairs
+jonathan bosco thanks
great detailed video dony !!! i keep forgetting to catch up on your channel youtube has stopped showing your videos on my home page !
thanks for sharing this video...
Awesome video! I have a Strike Master with the same Tecumseh engine on it. Recently took the carb apart and found that most of the gaskets inside are shot, so I purchased a new carb. I am having a problem getting the spring back on (governor piece that you referenced, part number 570717). I was wondering if you had time if you could show how that spring fits on the throttle of the carb. Thank you!
First of all thanks for all of your videos. Best ones I've ever seen on the topic. Working on a Tecumseh TC300 3193F (B) 9307G for a friend. (Eskimo Ice Auger) The original complaint was a weak spark. Found the coil air gap to be less than .008. After locating a manual it was quite a surprise to learn the correct air gap was .030 so after adjusting I've got a nice strong blue spark. Problem is it still won't start. Pulled the carb and gave it a thorough cleaning but it didn't help. Ordered a rebuild kit since the diaphragm seems a little stiff. Fairly certain this engine has the emissionized TC/Tillotson carb (idle adjustment and main screws). When the kit arrives I plan on a more thorough cleaning. What would be the best way to remove the limiter caps and plastic housing surrounding these? Might get brave enough to remove the welch plug as well. Thanks in advance.
Another great fix don , Thumbs up !!
+ShawnMrFixitlee thanks
as always Don. A fine job on the repair.
I had to do this repair on my model 76 White Lightning. It's the predecessor to the 77 Lightning Legend in this video. Both augers have the Tecumseh TC300 engine but not the same version. The throttle plunger in the model 76 is Tecumseh part number 570702. The repair is the same as this video except for the spring connection. Tecumseh made a couple dozen versions of the TC300 for many applications including trolling motors, drills and mini rototillers.
Hi Don, Great Video on the spring repair. I'm writing cause I own that exact same auger, bought it when I was working but now retired and for the life of me can get it to start. Did the normal gas mix in the spark hole and it fires ok. So took it apart as you did there and noticed the gaskets seems like they were no let say adhering to the surfaces between the Carb and engine body. so I put some gasket sealer on them. got it back to gether and still no kick or try to start. I then noticed that the fuel in the gas line would only come up to the carb so far then nothing but air., vent is open. I believe something is not right with carb having sat so long in the attic of barn. HERE is my problem. I can't seem to find anything about the engine on that unit. I know it been a few yrs since you did this video but hoping you might send me in the right direction to get a new carb and parts as gaskets for this guy . If so Great. Thank You for any help- Gary
Donny, I broke off the Air Vane on top of the carburetor of my Model 77 just like yours in the video.
What is the proper position when I put it all back together with the new vane?
Thanks for taking time to show us your skills and wisdom again Dony. Have a Great weekend.
always love the very informative videos, very professionally done.
im like a broken record but the 380 likes, and 1 dislike, i just dont understand folks. that are getting great info, why not simply click on like.
+BIG GUY IN BEAUMONT CA it's because other insecure people, especially shop owners don't like the fact that I post these videos online to help you folks out there for free
Great vid
Man! I don't even have some of these tools, but I fucking love these videos! They are amazing! Thank you, Donyboy!
+Pixel Knight thanks for watching
How do you adjust the idel speed? I have the same motor on a little roto till and cant get it to idel
Great video...thanks! I have a Jiffy 77 ice auger with a throttle problem. My throttle spring is intact but there is no spring to pull the throttle plate back to idle. I'm not sure if Jiffy used a tension spring to pull back the throttle place to idle, or a torsion spring on the throttle plate shaft. Can you advise what you saw on the unit you worked on? I'd appreciate a picture if you have one in the shop! Thanks in advance.
Wondering if you have a vedio and or parts numbers on changing the pull start cord?
Have you ever had to rebuild a Eskimo Auger pull start, I cannot seem to find anything on this particular repair. Great videos have save me a lot of grief over the years.
they only sell complete recoils
Hey dony do u possibly know the part number for the little metal linkage connected to the throttle lever mine is bent real bad and I'm having trouble locating tecumsehs part number thankyou
Dony, or anyone, do you know which Tecumseh carbs had the damping(?) spring on the float pin and why? I have a very old, 70's outboard with a 7hp engine that the float/needle clip either broke or was lost and I wondered if this should have that spring, that from what I can find, is/was for damping the float movement. Thanks for any help/info.

Bueno travajo Buena leccion👍
gracias
Hi there DonyBoy,
Thank you for this video. I don't need a spring but I do need a carb kit for that exact carb you have there. I am having a dickens of a time finding either a kit or a carb.
I'm thinking I need it because I can get it started, it runs for half a minute, then quits. Then it doesn't want to start again for an hour or so.
Any ideas.
George
Great video!! Do you have a parts # for the linkage piece?
Do you have a video on cleaning this particular carb ?
Thanks
I have a jiffy like this one but uses propane bottles. Would you know where I can buy a carb kit or new carb.
Thank you
nice job don
+Drew Thornton thanks
sou do Brasil acompanho seu vídeos gostei muito
+Pedro Gustavo bonjour
Could you show how to replace the nylon fuel elbow on the carb
Mr Don you know how to adjust a carburetor on a Murray lawn mower
I own a mini tiller with that same engine. I cleaned the carburetor but sometimes the engine will not always idle at the same speed. Sometimes the engine will not restart even though there is gas in it. What is causing this?
Does anyone know what that plastic part is called? mine snapped along side the plunger and cant find the part anywhere
i used to have a ice drill
gave up on it
now i use half stick of tnt ,,works like a charm
Hey Dony, I have a Jiffy model 30 auger. What do you recommend for servicing and regular maintenance? Thanks.
spark plug, check fuel lines, fuel filter and sometimes they need carb kits
I just got done fixing my father in laws jiffy auger a month ago it nie runs good
not to be scrapped yet, WTG Dony!
Any chance someone could help me with the part number of the spacer part number shown at the 5:50 point of this video?
I have an older Eskimo Ice auger(TC-300) with electronic ignition. Where would I find the part number to order a Walbro carb kit for it. The auger was left in a garage for over 10 years with fuel in it and it was pretty gummed up. Got it running but it has trouble idling. As usual great video
usually k10-wat kit
Parts ordered and hope it works. Always great videos
Got the carb number, it is a WTA 3B hope I got the right kit. thanks again
That is the two horsepower engine. Some (maybe all, I don't know) of the three horsepower Tecumseh augers have a different throttle linkage.
I'm looking for a gas tank like that for my auger. Do you know where I can find one?
do you have a part number?
what if the throttle got stuck wide open?
What an odd design, almost made to break.
Augers look so handy, holes in seconds :-D
Just bought a new gas tank for my Eskimo auger, it was leaking and the fuel lines were cracked going into the tank. Ethanol is just awful stuff for small engines. Even running the gas out still eats away at parts.
+Craig Arndt the fuel line grommet and fuel cap often need to be replaced on those eskimo ice augers
Yes, my grommet was split, but the crack in the tank was where they molded the mounting bolts. Eskimo has a new tank now that has a new design.
+Craig Arndt Ethanol seems to affect two stroke engines more than four strokes. At the end of the ice fishing season I fill the tank with Tru-Fuel. It's $6/quart or $20/gallon at Lowes, premixed at 50:1 and ethanol free. using it for the first and last tanks of the season avoids a lot of fuel system problems. During the season fuel doesn't stay in the system long enough to go bad. I do the same thing with my trimmer and chainsaw. A $20 gallon of fuel is less expensive than a carburetor repair, especially if you factor in the frustration and time.
I think you're right, the ethanol and oil mix seems to really wreck my primer bulbs a lot more than on my 4 stroke motors.
Linkage material looks weak.
