What is this dude thinking he can't behave like a trucker and climb into his cab put the pedal to the metal and leave us all in the mirrors and the dust. 😉
Driven Renault trucks back home from the time it was Renault/Dodge in the year 2000 before it was Renault/Vovlo we’ve a few Renaults in our Fuel Tanker fleet and a new T-High ridged truck and barrel with a draw-bar trailer on the way, been a great truck in our fleet the lads have had no trouble with them, and they’ve gotten good use road/off-road wise, I’m here in New Zealand now driving big 58tonne Kenworth trucks…
Really like it how you blended the part from the truck to the models and back to the truck, that was great editing and it was seamless. Like the videos
I'm a scania fan and currently drive a newgen 450 but so many companies seem to be opting for the Renault so as you say they are offering a good deal so has to be serious contender , nice to see you back ! 👍
Scania every time for me. And always the bigger engine. Company buyers just don’t seem to get the bigger engine doesn’t struggle to pull the weight but the smaller ones rev higher and use more fuel
Yeah. I really don’t understand their thinking. At our company we drive a lot of DAFs and mostly they’re LF180 6 speed 14t box trucks and CF300 20t trucks. I drive such an LF and you need to absolutely rev the nuts off that thing to get even a little speed. I’d be lucky to reach 60kph before I’m on the highway. And that is in the flat Netherlands. Those CFs aren’t much better though. Company just doesn’t seem to get that more hp engines make for easier and smoother driving and no need to have your foot flat to the floor all the time. It saves fuel costs, maintenance costs and you have happier drivers as well.
The 480 premium is my daily drive so i know pretty much everything about the truck. You dont need to to push the parking brake off it will do it itself with a gentle press on the gas from stationary. The fuel setting is probably in standard mode but can be adjusted from the dashboard display using the scroll function. It will change up quicker in position 3. I like them, nice and spacious compared to other makes. Good video and i love the colour and the bling. Unfortunatley XPO units are all white and pretty much straight out of the box.
@@bendermi I've rented a Volvo FH 500 some time ago, it had some issue with the exhaust after treatment. I can't speak for all Volvos, I think they're actually good it's just that I had a bad experience with that particular unit. MAN are quite simple to figure out that's why I prefer them
i would have loved to give a Renault a go, but they just don't have enough power for the conditions here in Norway. we run 50t-60t and in our fleet which, aside from one 2022 Volvo FH 500 is Scania 5 and NG ranging from 490hp to 730hp, the 650 and 660 trucks are the ones that has the best combination of power and fuel usage.
Stravro welcome back bro I ev been missing you it's you who inspired me to ev dream of going to America and do truck driving I wish one Day God gives me that chance coz I love truck driving
Hi stav I like to watch your video out of all the trucker youtubers. You do very good job telling the detail information about trucks. I wish you could make a video on Asian and American truck manufacturers. Using online trucks videos available from trucks manufacturers and informing the vehicle details specifications through your videos.
I learned in a Renault truck and it had that same gearing quirk of having to put it in drive and then reverse. I never understood it and it’s one of the reasons I preferred the DAF to learn in.
Great video Stavros, It all comes down to number crunching, go for the best repair & maintenance over 5 years, preferably for the biggest engine you can afford. Less stress driving on todays roads. Does not matter what what truck you go for, todays vehicles are all pretty reliable.
Not me, I go to an army surplus yard to find a nice low mileage 6x4 Scammell Crusader that starts and runs ,a lovely canvas to put my paint on. Good old fashioned 3406E KittyCat with Jacobs engine compression brake, souped up to 600 plus ponies, my own gearbox based on an Allison CL750 6 speed auto with direct manual control, 3 speed brownie plus overdrive aux box , twirling a short geared Rockwell SQHD or SQRD double drive bogie on 315\80\ R,22,5 Michelins topped off by a 9 ton capacity Kirkstall front axle also shod with 385/65/ R,22,5 Michelin rubber . Want a good hill climber, bags of torque between 900,1800 rpm, cliing onto the higher gears without screaming her b------s off, the paintwork maybe mank, cab short on toys and luxuries to keep the driver happy but the Scammell will do the job.
I would recommend the MAN 2021... Much better truck than any other in the market today and MAN still offers 640 HP engines so quite a good deal I'd say
our fleet is mostly renault T's or merc actros's they been phasing the mercs out for the Renaults.. makes sense if they getting a decent service package out of it. and no one wants to drive the mercs (they gen 1 and the mirrors are absolutely useless as well as the driver "aids" )... be nice if they get a scania or two by the time I get my licence but I doubt it .
Hey Stavros we have just put a new man TGX 640 on the road it has been totally fault free unlike the Scania and Volvo’s we’ve had in the past we would recommend the MAN
Scania Streamline 4×2 becouse îs great truck and great stile and V8 Engen and full horsepower. Great thu se you back and God bless you. And what your favorite truck?
Daf to me are currently my favorite for mid power. If you need more than 500 hp, Scania 1st, Volvo 2nd. Renault, MAN & Iveco aren't even in contention.
Been driving a T since launch its about time they put a better interior in it, It's a forest of cheap horrible plastic got to be the worst currently on the market.
Just had one for 4 days not as good as they make out to be the cruise control broke the suspension went funky on me and no where to put anything and it only had 375 on the clock
Stavros Save up your pennies and come over to Australia and drive the Kenworth K220 Would be good to have an international option on a Aussie built truck
I would take peterbilt 379 long hood with 6NZ Cat engine; manual 18 speed, and 336 rears. This is a coffin; it’s not comfortable and space less. This truck is more of a local driving not over the road
All we run is Renaults, tried them all and Renaults service is just top tier. Can’t beat them
We missed your reviews man, good to see you back.

@@bendermi I have no clue what you said, but I fully agree with what you said.
Probably the most popular truck in Europe.
i don't know much about trucks, but ive always liked how renault semis looked
You know my dream it to drive those trucks in uk all the way from Zimbabwe. One day is one day
I am a DAF guy, but the Renault is tempting

I’ve never driven a T high and would certainly like to get a run in one but going by it’s looks they are one of the nicest looking trucks on the road
In general the Renualt T-480 is a very solid truck, i really do like the design and some of the features it has.
I like how you explained everything, your videos are remarkable

It's about investment too , but it's well spent money because they're easier to sell afterwards.

They have good engine and gearbox good value for the money.
I would go for the Volvo, if the money isn't the first thing to think of.

That's strange because Renault has the same engine as Volvo up to 520hp.And with the TC engine with 480hp you have 2700nm of torque.

Very clean I love the truck
Dual Clutch Turbo Compound Volvo 500 HP 2800 NM. More responsive gears [as you said yourself in the drive] and a slightly wider torque curve.

I refeer renault trucks because of the interiors❤️
My only gripes with the renault are the position of the speedometer it needs to be placed lower on the dash, and the lack of better placed cup holders
epic review. thanks! have a nice sunday!

Driving in UAE 🇦🇪 T460 renault beautiful truck
Scania Streamline 4×2 becouse îs great truck and great stile and V8 Engen and full horsepower. Great thu se you back and God bless you. And what your favorite truck?
I would go for the Volvo because of the better front axle and more torque through the revrange .
What do you mean by the better axle?

Volvo has always had better handling because of their front axle and they're keeping on developing it .

Now you know why the Volvo always has been the better truck?
I now have a new Renault after 18 years of driving Volvo.I can say it's a better truck and less fuel consumption as a similar Volvo FH.
If you move the driver's seat to the other side (left-hand drive cab being French) puts the storage bins in the correct orientation?
Value for money I'd say Renault & there lovely to drive
The bore of an engine is the diameter of the cylinder, the stroke of an engine is how far the piston goes from top dead center to bottom dead center
I am currently driving Renault premium but Volvo is the beast
I love Renault t high 480 when I was in Qatar al bakashab trucking company

A red seat belt make it easier for the Police to see that you have it fastened.
Stavros
Save up your pennies and come over to Australia and drive the Kenworth K220
Would be good to have an international option on a Aussie built truck
I've noticed that in all of your test drive videos that you cruise at 80kph. Do you always cruise at that speed or do you go faster in a normal day?
I,d say thats for legal reasons. On national roads in Ireland speed limit for HGVs is 80kph. Motorways are 90kph
Nice video Stavros, but you never mentioned Mercedes like a possible choice, but everything else😁
I wonder how this compares to a 2023 Volvo FH 460/500 I-save in terms of fuel consumption
This is the truck I drive in Europe!
I’m no trucker but I feel like after reading the comments it seems like a good and bad truck
damn so many Guiness trucks makes me need a beer and I do not have any :-)
Spoke to a driver the other week and he said The Magnums bigger then the T High.Would be go to do a review against this and one of the latter Magnums
Go for a Iveco cheap as chips does the job but watch out for trim parts falling off causing driver injuries.
The dash could improved why not put in a full width drawer at the bottom and some proper drinks holders apart from that very nice truck to driver
Wow sir your explanation is so beautiful sir

I hate that I have never seen a Renault truck in South Africa yet they give us all the newest Volvo's
I have never seen a Renault truck in Australia either. There are a lot of Volvos as they have a factory here that makes both Volvo and Mack.
I would go for either the daf xg or the Mercedes new actros.
The models are 1:64 scale from Corgi. They don't make most of them anymore.
What does that cost Stavros?

Scania , lower power , or lower spec to match the price but deffinatly a Scania every day of the week
