I have Invisalign and for me taking the liners throughout the day is not a big deal. I also don’t take my liners out 8 times a day. I only take them out 3 times (breakfast, lunch, and supper) and I can also eat any foods I want, while braces limit some of the food you can have. When I got my Invisalign, I only needed to have my teeth scanned once, and after 4 weeks I got all of my liners for my treatment. Invisalign is very convenient for me because I only have to see my orthodontist every 8-12 weeks. if you need to have major adjustments with your teeth then braces is the way to go, but if you only have small issues with your teeth and want no one to know that your straightening your teeth then Invisalign is the way to go. My Invisalign treatment is going to be going on after covid is done, so I’m very glad I got Invisalign and not braces.
Not from a proper orthodontist, impossible. Initial consultation, examination, discussion, photographs. Then a full consultation, x-rays, a scan of your teeth, planning stage, what the final result will roughly be etc. Then the fitting......
Moving teeth is very serious thing. Nobody should do it unless it becomes a health issue. It carry serious consequences if poorly planned or done. It is quite worrysome people sell it as a way to have a beautiful smile or that it has cool colours. As I said the main consideration should be a better functionality and quality of life. Be mindful of all the possible side effects when they make you sign the "informed consent" It doesn't matter if it is Invisalign or traditional braces. Stay healthy and do it for the right reasons. Indeed this has helped people who really need it
I personally chose Invisalign. Because I feel like me with braces doesn’t look well also if u are considering invisalign u should get it bc it’s actually not hard. I clean my Invisalign 2 times a day, if u are responsible enough ur teeth will shift fast. Braces was 2 and a half years for me while invisalign was 1 year. My trays did take 3 weeks to come but that’s not too long be patient. because u get like 12 trays in one box. so i always check the last tray to see how my teeth would look at the 12th week.
This was super helpful! I have had Invisiline for 2 weeks and I can’t handle the feeling of my teeth being covered in plastic and the pain I constantly feel when I eat because my teeth feel lose and sensitive. I decided to switch to braces!
Had Invisalign for 18 months for an overjet with extractions , it did a pretty good job but it couldn’t quite rotate my back teeth or close some of the gaps so now I’ve got brackets at the back with this last set. The eating thing is rough with invisalign, had to train myself to eat 3 meals a day, where I’m naturally such a snacker. However I am noticing so much more pain and sensitivity with the braces on the back teeth where I can barely chew. I haven’t had this at all with invisalign aside from a mild sensitivity at times. I also have really found the subtlety of invisalign a benefit, you can see something is there, but overall much subtler, especially as I work remotely I can manage the invisalign routine better and colleagues don’t even notice I have them over zoom. I can see the pros and cons of both!
That's actually one of the biggest reasons I got braces, they're easier and nobody knows I have them behind my mask...now I'm only hoping wearing masks continues to stay normal for awhile haha. And congrats on opening two more dental offices!
"now I'm only hoping wearing masks continues to stay normal for awhile haha" I hope that you weren't serious. Seriously, selfish much? So many people suffer from having to wear in so many ways because of these masks and you want to keep them around so no one will see your braces. Well, thanks. Nobody even cares about your braces. I'd rather everyone see me wearing the most hideous braces known to man (like the old style full bands) than wear a mask just one more day.
This is actually a big problem for me. I'm someone who is outside a lot because of my job, so I can't brush and floss everywhere, or clean the aligners, also I don't really have the time to do that at work. But I also grind my teeth at night, so something like invisalign could act as a nightguard. What would you do if a patient chooses braces and is also grinding his teeth at night?
When you take out the Invisalign because you want to eat food....Before you put back on the Invisalign, are you required to only brush your teeth first, or do you have to brush AND floss your teeth first?
I have Invisalign and don’t have rubber bands. I think rubber bands with Invisalign are only for people with bite/jaw issues? I also I just take my aligners out twice a day! I work from home, so it’s been super easy.
@@vaselinetub Oh interesting!! Thank you for sharing this. I have some mild crowding and don’t need them, but I do have attachments on several teeth. I’m on my third week now and finding this so easy. I’m excited for you to get started!!! I highly recommend a Sonic cleaner. My aligners have stayed so clean using it five minutes twice a day while I eat. I use M3 Retainer Cleaner tablets (every once in a while). I brush them with bar soap.
After watching your videos, I would totally prefer braces over Invisalign for the reasons you said, but my orthodontist has said Invisalign would be better for me only because I have a baby pre molar still (I’m almost 19) and it is less likely to fall out with Invisalign than with traditional braces - would you agree? Love your videos, thank you!
Everyone views things differently but I work on patients with baby teeth all the time we just don't put braces on those teeth. That being said every case is different.
In my research, Invisalign is more gentle on your teeth, and when older (I’m mid 40s), that’s more important. There’s also evidence that Invisalign causes less bone loss than braces. I also wanted to be able to take them off so I could easily thoroughly clean my teeth & gums. I do wish I could eat whenever when out, but I work from home, so I’m home most of the time, which is making Invisalign super easy for me. I’d love braces, but I chose Invisalign for the better health of my teeth.
Is it a bad idea to get Invisalign through your dentist? My dentist quoted me $4700 for them 28 trays said a year to a year and a half treatment. He also said things that made it seem like he wasn't sure what the result would be. Please let me know if I should go to a orthodontist??
I effing hate eating with braces and this has been the biggest reason I'm considering to switching to invisalign. Is this a bad idea? You seem to think badly about invisalign.
2:20 Well, when I first had my consult with my orthodontist, I couldn’t get my braces the same day because my insurance wanted to look at the X-RAYS and pictures, to determine if they should pay for my treatment or not since my teeth are crowded as hell 😂😂😂, my insurance ended up paying for it because of that
Problem- when braces taken off. Im an adult. I had to wait over six weeks to get get a retainer, due to THEIR schedule, even if the retainers ready in days. No compromise because of all the all the kiddies and the beleaguered front desk, and / orthodontist jumping from location to location. Hi Dr. Nate. I asked my dentist about braces. He's recommending to remove 4 premolars to make space (I haven't gone for a 2nd opinion yet). Is it necessary to get the premolars removed? I'll try to go for a 2nd opinion in your Sachse location in the near future. Thanks!
I have aligners but now I really want braces. The aligners are too tight. Made my gums swell up, gave me a headache and some didn’t fit. Plus, I don’t see any change. Now I want to see if I can get a payment plan for braces.
You can eat with your Invisalign aligners in!! Invisalign is awesome for simpler cases. I think it's better for adults who are looking for a more esthetic option compared to braces, and who are of course compliant with aligner wear. But for younger patients, Invisalign might not be the best option
You have two different videos. One states why Invisalign is better, this one says braces are better 🥴🥴🥴 should’ve just made one video listing the comparisons.
Hi Lily please reach out if you can. I have TMD too, with huge overbite.. I've been contemplating over Invisalign or braces for 1.5 years now. I'd love to how your situation is now, if still using the Invisalign. Thanks
Yup, i wonder how it feels to have so many metal wire, rubber attached on your teeth feel on your cheeks. With aligners, if any sharp edges bother you, you can take care of it yourself. Aligners will always be more comfortable than braces.
You only said one medical reason. The rest are all superficial and just your opinion. Maybe you want people to get braces because it is much cheaper for you to put a wire and adjust it every few months, so you can make much more money. I have had both, and will definitely go with invisalign
