It would be nice if most of it sounded like generic sounds. We got the idea it has filter but can it produce some nice sounds that stand on their own or just farts.
In the preset Sweet Comb Filter, is the sound that is apparently being heard/recorded in the video performance only the SY300 synth output or is there a parallel dry and/or effected/amplified guitar signal mixed with it? And if you could describe the 'mix' of the other presets as well with regard to any 'second guitar track' mixed in that would be helpful. Many thanks
Don't get me wrong: I can't wait to get my hands on an SY-300, but I'm a little disapointed this (and the other two video's) was all they could come up with? I feel a little like watching and listening to the GR 300 demo's instead of something that comes out in 2015..
Michael Loutris I know and like I wrote before: this seems a great product (and I've preordered it). My comment was meant on the way the demo's/backing tracks/patches sound. Take a look and listen to for example dunop/mxr-video's and compare them to this. And I don't mean that these should all be super-produced video's but (again: to me) these all sound like they were threw togetherin 5 minutes time. ..and those drums/basses...aargh... :)
Herwig Scheck I don;t know man... Have you gotten yours? Kinda afraid that this thing really can't make anything but these platicky sratchy sounds, it all depends on how they set up the ocilators... For example I haven't heard a nice mellow pad yet... You know?
Boss makes stomp boxes that can be made for like $30 then sell them for $80, they then funnel all that profit made by MT-2's into building a space-time machine, they then use the space time machine to travel into the 80s dimension, which kinda looks like something out of the blood dragon expansion of Far Cry 3 or Kung Fury, and then they aduct some session musicians from this dimension/time warp and bring them back into our world. These musicians are then locked in a dark hub for a week with only boss equipment and cameras until they play boss demos to win their freedom back and return to their home world.
Amazing studio tool and incredible idea generator, especially the "GiantStep4Mankind" preset. Wow. Shame that for 95% of us this will absolutely tank in a live setting unless everything's meticulously mic'd or properly caressed before it goes to the PA.
why all the sound samples everywhere are like wah + bass? Give us something more useful and different. In this demo there are some sounds that aren't much like a synth as well... nothing a good pedalboard can't duplicate.
no it's not, unless it's not able to synthesize basic sounds like piano, flute etc. and it is just one of these noisy useless synths, which I think it isn't...
spen a few hours with the sy300... you can make any sound with 3 VCO's, 3VCA'S, 3VCF's and all the asociated effects, sequencers and ancillary stuff on this machine. Most demos just demo the presets or sounds produced by the blender function. It's a synthesizer controlled by a guitar (or any other audio output instrument) not a midi keyboard...
If it was the band's keyboard player who was making these sounds, I wonder how many would consider it impressive and unbelievably awesome. Harsh trash!
Well.... he's the Sputnik Dancer; didn't you know!?!!? lol It is funny how some players have their "stage moves". If it's done unconsciously (or subconsciously) then fine they're just in the zone and being in the moment. But these moves here look very conscious, even rehearsed. Oh well, it's a free country so he's allowed. :0)
This is a synthesiser not a sampler. If you want sampled sounds you'll need the GR series. This is for creating sounds. Best thing for what you want would be the Fishman Tripleplay.
you dont get these sound unless you are using multiple tracks , misleading as usual from boss /roland a few user friendly patches most are useless unless your just a stoner buzzin out
Strabbs12345 Me thinks you're missing the point of a Synth.... Hides the tone? It should completely replace the tone, it's not supposed to sound like a guitar at all, it's supposed to sound like a synth. Now, it does a terrible job at that, this is about the 10th demo I've seen and I'm yet to hear one decent sound out of this thing...
Gundy really does great product demonstrations! He is far better than anybody else to show the musicality of high-tech gear.
Full throttle lead sounded pretty good.
I'm sure you could do some amazing stuff with this but every demo of it I have seen has been the cheesiest of cheese.
Excellent.
Very good demo. Thanks.
I want that first tele so bad

3:18 Great drum / bass sound.
Anybody know what that first Tele - the Sonic Blue - is? That's one cool configuration. I need that one.

It seems that they also use the profit from mt-2 to buy cocaine, look at the face of the guy. I hope he gains his freedom soom.

So if you could make a pedal out of the Full Ld preset... I'd buy that

Anyone knows if there is acoustic piano among the presets ?
Wonder if you could get near that muse tone from map of a problematique.
Where are all the cool pulse leads?
Ok, but its more powerfull than GR55?
A piano sound - i would buy it.
They already make a product for sample based sounds. This is a different production.
wikichris Yes - but your need a special pickup for this sample sythies.

This guy looks like he is stunned, but not with coke. It's more like nuke from robocop 2 ...
When you rock so hard your hairline recedes

whats with all the head nodding and gyrating in response to simple ideas! ffs!!

Why the useless sounds. I want it sounds like keyboard: flute, organ, trumpet, violin....these just noises

Hides out tone! Guitar should sound like a guitar, and ring modulation is the most unmusical, sound I ever heard
Strabbs12345
No.

It is a synth.....
