- At the North American premiere of Priscilla, our Centerpiece selection, actors Cailee Spaeny & Jacob Elordi, costumer designer Stacey Battat, production designer Tamara Deverell, and producer Youree Henley discussed the film with NYFF Artistic Director Dennis Lim.
No one knew American pop icon Elvis Presley more tenderly during his superstar years than Priscilla Ann Wagner, whose own story as Elvis’s romantic partner and only wife has rarely been told. Director Sofia Coppola, who in her remarkable filmography has so often returned to intimate portraits of women living complicated lives behind closed doors, has found a subject exquisitely tailored to her interests. As portrayed with extraordinary poise and strength by Cailee Spaeny, Priscilla finally becomes the center of her narrative. Coppola follows her love affair with Elvis (an equally revelatory, larger-than-life Jacob Elordi), from her early years as a teenage army brat stationed in West Germany to her surreal arrival at Graceland, which becomes both her home and prison. With her customarily precise attention to texture and detail, Coppola has created one of her most stirring, vivid films, a tribute to a woman who was living in the public eye before she had truly experienced the world.

Remarkable movie, filmed by a remarkable director with remarkable actors. A very moving journey.
Cailee and Jacob were in their own little world. They seem pretty close and in sync...
Even their outfits and accessories seem in sync 😅
this film was an honest depiction of priscillas experience, gentle and subtle.

As for research of Graceland and what it looked like before Priscilla.. Anita Wood, Elvis' actual girlfriend from 57-62 before he replaced her with Priscilla, shares in her book and a few interviews some great details of what Graceland and Elvis's bedroom looked like in the late 50s and early 60s.
i absolutely love the new movie priscilla, but this interview seemed like they didn’t want to be there , especially jacob . I think the facilitator seemed bored and created an awkward atmosphere. However i think jacob and cailee did a fantastic job in the film . A big well done 👏 ❤

I thought it was a oversight to not have Elvis music but I LOVED the music and wish to obtain ir when it is available.

Nei primi anni 90 uscì il film "Boxing Helena" di Jennifer Lynch , figlia di David Lynch, e con mio fratello andai a vederlo a Napoli.
Trovo molte somiglianze del film "Priscilla" di Sofia Coppola con il film "Boxing Helena".
Nel film Priscilla si vede l'ex moglie di Elvis dentro una stanza con il viso mezzo illuminato e che guarda nella direzione di un'altra stanza , mi sono ricordata all'improvviso proprio l'attrice Sherilyn Fenn con il viso mezzo illuminato che osserva il suo stalker Julian Sands che si accoppiava con altre donne in un'altra stanza. L'idea dell'uomo ricco e potente che ingabbia la donna era già in Boxing Helena.
La Locandina di Priscilla vicino la finestra con dietro la tenda e fuori notte assomiglia incredibilmente a Sherlyn Fenn HELENA con la camicia di seta vicino ad una finestra di notte con la tenda dietro (Se su Google cercate immagini Boxing Helena troverete la foto di Sherlyn Fenn)
Comunque il titolo "Priscilla" è stato messo davanti ad un tessuto di seta scuro. Cosa ricorda ? Beautiful che dietro ha un tessuto di seta rosa antico.

When Director Coppalo said that she didn't make the movie for Elvis fans, I knew the fix was in. Priscilla has changed stories over the years, too many to list. I will say that when she sued Lisa Marie estate shortly after she died & took money that should of gone to her Grandchildren, what grandmother does that !!! To me unforgivable and what kind of person she is !!!
You ask what kind of person priscilla is ? ...She is a wicked demon of a woman; in fact she has been described that way by those who knew her and Elvis and even lived with both of them in Graceland. This film is a hatchet job on Elvis, and true Elvis fans will not pay their money to see this bag of Cilla's lies.

The movie is actually great, it shows the true perspective of what Priscilla dealt with after choosing a tough life to be with the king of rock. It’s not just surface leveled about Elvis’s triumphs, it shows the challenges they faced with many ups and downs and how hard it was to choose that life while still a young teen girl. This comments section sucks… Women need to stop putting women down, the man (as talented as he was musically and a good father) was a man who didn’t respect her many points in life. The movie is simply honest to Priscilla’s life experience and showcases her & Elvis’s great moments together too.

There is this thing called "make up" that can transform any actor to create resemblance. Pricilla was a teen when she met Elvis. Very shy young girl. Acting is evocative, not documentary-like. Pricilla always retreated from cameras as a very young woman, spoke quietly, til she left Elvis. She was quite overshadowed during those years. I believe the actress does a fine job. You appear to be overly invested in this and seeking a documentary; there are plenty of those.

It's always a disappointing interview. I'm excited about the project but these interviews ruin everything, no one has anything interesting to say and another, they keep hitting on the same thing, that this is Priscilla's story, because no one ever knew about her life, in fact, her life It was told by her in a book and a miniseries, in fact, the story of Elvis himself was told by others and not by him. He died virtually Alone paying Priscilla pension and allowance.
No one has anything interesting to say...not even Priscilla. The usual story full of lies she wants people to believe and that helps her to get more money from the Presley name. This film is totally useless, as the protagonist of the story 😂😂😂

Co-trustees Priscilla Wagner Beaulieu and Barry Siegel pressured Lisa Marie to sell 85% of her EPE-shares because it would be financially advantageous for them as trustees of Lisa Marie's trust fund. Never mind Lisa Marie's financial interests!
NOT IN THE MOVIE: After taxes Lisa Marie had $45 MILLION left from the sale of her EPE-shares. That money was squandered by Barry Siegel; he invested it in his own company, that went broke. He never paid Lisa Marie back.

When Elvis was back in the States they discouraged Priscilla from dating with boys in Germany. Her mother, Ann Iversen, pushed Priscilla to write love letters to Elvis, who occasionally called Priscilla and was back with girlfriend Anita Wood. It was Priscilla, ordered by Ann, who begged Elvis to invite her to the US and it was her parents who forced Priscilla to move to Graceland although she wanted to stay in Germany with her then-boyfriend.
NOT IN THE MOVIE: After the divorce, Priscilla and Lisa Marie lived in a house that exposed not a single photo of Elvis Presley, the man, Priscilla claims, is the love of her life. Elvis certainly didn't believe her. In her book Elvis and Me, Priscilla seems to depict herself as the innocent victim of a bad man, Elvis Presley, but in reality, it is the other way around. It was Elvis Presley, who was manipulated and exploited by Priscilla and her parents. You don't publish negative books/films/interviews about the "love of your life".

Now Riley has agreed that she will pay Priscilla $1.4 MILLION,-- and a guaranteed yearly allowance, during 10 years, to stop her from challenging Lisa Marie's will. Priscilla is also paid subtrustee over 1/9 of the Presley-estate that halfbrother Navarone Garbaldi gets. In a will, that Lisa Marie drew up in 1993, when she was 25, she left, in case of death, 1/9 of her estate to Navarone whom she then adored but when Lisa Marie died she had broken off all contact with Navarone, who publicly scolded her and wished her dead. *** AND NOW YOU LEARNED MORE ABOUT ELVIS AND PRISCILLA's relationship than ANYTHING you'll learn in this Sofia bust.

--------------Pass on the new Prissy bio flick. Not because I'm an Elvis defender, but because of HER hierocracy. More of Prissy's self imposed victimhood. SHE consented, as did her parents, to living at Graceland in hopes of being Mrs Presley one day. She could have walked out at any time, no one held her back. Her parents could have recalled her back home, but didn't. They all were very content with the blessings of her living at Graceland & living the lavish lifestyle. Free Will is a wonderful thing, and she exercised it, as is evidence of staying there all those years. What did she expect from Elvis? To tame the King of Rock & Roll? Isn't that the very premise she complained about elvis, trying to change her to being what he wanted? And She complained of infidelity, lack of attention, etc BUT continued to stay until after she had a daughter.
