    Cool project Dave! I have a similar epoxy project on the bench as well.

      Thanks for watching Steve. Epoxy projects are fun, but they sure can be messy. I'll be watching for yours. 🙂

    Great project. I have a love / hate relationship with epoxy. It comes out so good, but it is such a pain to work with.

      I agree 100% Rob. They look great when they're done, but what a pain and mess. The shavings go everywhere and stick to everything. This one wasn't too bad (other than the leak) since it was only two colors. 😃

    Dave, nice project and demonstration. Rob is going to have competition now.

    Dave, that came out great. I remember my first resin pour. I did it on my assembly table and the resin leaked through a hole in the project down into a drawer full of sanding pads. I didn't find until next morning. I never made that mistake again.

      Thanks Larry. I guess that's why I don't do resin projects very often. I thought for sure I had the tape around that thing tight, but the resin always finds a way to escape. 😀 I'm just glad I found the leak before it had started to cure and I was able to wipe it up.

      Thanks for watching Dave. It is a very nice little machine. I'm really diggin" it. I wish there had been something like this available and with a reasonable price way back when I started the CNC hobby.

    Hi Dave, great video. I will get mine tomorrow. What in your opinion are the "must have" accessories for this machine?

    • @DaveGatton
      @DaveGatton  2 місяці тому

      First, figure out what spindle you're going to use with this machine, stock spindle, trim router, etc. Then get a dust shoe that will work with that choice. Some type of dust collection is a must have.

    AWESOME Dave..... cant wait until I get mine running..... What do you use to seal it before you pour the resin?..... 👍

    • @DaveGatton
      @DaveGatton  4 місяці тому +1

      Thanks for watching Troy. I think you could just use some spray laquer and it would seal up the wood to prevent the epoxy from bleeding in to the wood. Just out of curiousity, what is holding you up on getting your Prover V2 running?

    Dave, you have my interest up on the 4040 Reno. On the fence between that and the 4040 pro, is getting proper tension on the belt difficult for someone just diving into CNC?

    • @DaveGatton
      @DaveGatton  4 місяці тому

      Thanks for watching Steve. I think with the tensioning device they have on the Genmitsu 4040 Reno it couldn't be any easier. Just remember, not too tight, and not too loose. To me it's kind of a common sense thing.

    Very nice. Would you consider this a good epoxy to start with if I wanted to do cutting board inlays? (food safe?)

    • @DaveGatton
      @DaveGatton  4 місяці тому +1

      Thanks for watching. I read the box again for the epoxy resin kit and there's no mention of it being food safe. It is a good epoxy to use and far as ease of mixing since it's a 1:1 ratio of hardener to resin.
