Heres why Octane Lighting looks the "best": So everyone knows about ray tracing and the "newer" path tracing which makes lighting more realistic. Octane and a few older and more advanced softwares use Spectral Rendering which is the end all be all light science. It simulates light at the wavelength level WELL past the rgb spectrum that we know. This is eventually the end goal for all real time rendering to have 100% accurate light. However, with AI generation we might scrap it all together and let ai just create the lighting at the molecular level. We'll see. But yeah...thats why it looks so good.
And if anyones curious on different types of light rendering sciences: Ray tracing < Path Tracing < Improved Variations of path tracing such as Bi-Directional Path Tracing < Hybrid Rendering (Using combinations of the formers) < Spectral Rendering < Neural Ai Rendering (Experimental but when stable should be unbeatable in quality and performance)
Theres a simple way to write GeoNodes Attributes and pass to octane. Do create a vertex color with a name (eg: PCol), in the output node of the geonode create aoutput color attribute. In this example you connect the position node to the color output, in the modifier tab in output attributes write down the vertex color name (PCol). In the shader make a Color Vertex Attribute node and uses the name you choose (PCol).
As octane expert, probably do you know: how to connect octaneProxy node into the new version of blender/octane (4.2/29.15)?:) In previous versions was octane geometry's pin in "material output", but now.. There is octane proxy node, but impossible to connect it anywhere..
@@1polygonewithme yes it’s a great renderer , I think they need to solve the integration issues with attributes and then it will make sense to swap. Then again it’s free so can’t really complain.
Yo.... first time I watch a video about octane...interesting!!!.. Don't know if you can answer my question; When I render videos (png sequenzes) with "dramatic lightning" I always get some weird "smudgy" flickering. No matter how many samples and what denoising settings I use. People suggest "temporal denoising", but when I tried that, my render-times went through the roof. Do you know that problem and does it also exist in Octane?
I like octane but for what i do cycle in Blender Is more fast, the result Is Amazing in both but the thing that made me change, not Forever, Is the bug, too often octane doesn't work, Say like waintg for image, server not connected,...

we'll see it natively in cycles within the next 10 years.

This is the roadmap for Film CGI animation and Realtime photo realistic video games.

Octane Blender Geo Change?
I always say that octane's lights have that jucier bounce to them 😅
Octane's lights look so much better than Cycles
Octane and Arnold ❤️👌🏼
Yes octane I've never had a chance to use Arnold that would be one I like to play with in the future 😀👍

An issue I found with octane is that you can’t use attributes from geometry nodes
Yep you are correct it's work in progress 🤔

I havent used it yet, is it better for cooler looking stills?
Ya it's cooler for better renders
