Perfect Video for what I was searching for. JBL Bar 300 vs the previous JBL 5.0. Since i already have a sound system dedicated for music, this will be perfect to add to the T.V. Thanks again.
Exactly what I needed. Puts me in a bad spot though, because the biggest reason for getting external speakers is to hear the movie more clearly... and if the 5.0 struggles with that, then I'd opt for the 300... but the extra size, the missing bass, and seemingly lackluster app for the 300... doesn't make it worth considering. Thanks for the great info. Now just gotta find a 5.0 on sale!
You mentioned the app like seven times. There's so many different apps I can't tell which version is the multiple failsons and which is the one you like using.
I have the multibeam 5.0 which is the previous version of this one. I think the multibeam is better since it has 5 drivers not only 4 , also as the guy in the video says it has better bass. No need to upgrade
☝️I have to correct you. The Multibeam 5.0 soundbar does NOT have built-in subwoofers as you said, these are Passive Radiators, which is different from subwoofer speakers. But despite that, I agree with you that the Multibeam 5.0 has a better bass response compared to the Bar 300. I have them both.
@@anderfountable I have them both, and even though the bass reproduction of the Multibeam 5.0 is a bit deeper I would make the upgrade to the Bar 300. The openness in sound and intelligibility/clearness of voices in movies is much better and better balanced from the Bar 300. On the Multibeam 5.0, I always had to turn UP the volume on films to hear the speech properly and then with an explosion I had to turn DOWN the volume again.... With the Bar 300, you no longer have this problem with constantly increasing/decreasing volume to hear speech properly. In addition, you can use the "JBL One App" to fully adjust the Bar 300 to your own taste via it's 3-band Equaliser. If you place the Bar 300 closer to a wall, you're going to get plenty of bass sound. So yes, my advise is upgrade to the JBL Bar 300 👌
@@JB-vc6xj Thank you for such a detailed answer! As for the “surround sound” effect, are they on the same level? The 5.0 has grilles on top with upward-facing speakers. Will I lose this super effect in the 300 model?
@@anderfountable Forget the grills on top of the Multibeam 5.0. These are NOT speakers, but passive radiators. They are an extra membrane to amplify the bass tones slightly, which also explains why the bass reproduction is slightly deeper than the Bar 300. These radiators therefore do not add anything else to the virtual surround sound. The surround/soundstage of the Multibeam 5.0 is slightly wider, but an almost negligible difference compared to the Bar 300. The sound of the Bar 300 is much more balanced, which is more pleasant for movies.

This one basically replaced the multibeam 5.0. I own the 5.0 and its a really great sounbar its more than enough for a small room.
Super! Thank you!
If I have JBL 5.0, is it worth changing it to 300?
Did you get a gain in sound?
JBL soundbar have a lot of bass with it for me I like it, but for some people they don’t like it BUT JBL Are good 👍
Good review. You could compare it with Bose too, however. Thanks a lot.

I'm using the first gen Bose Soundlink Mini as a TV speaker. Would this one give me much better sound?

There's no subwoofers on the 5.0. What are you talking about. I owned it and sold it recently.
