    This is one of the most accurate makeup tutorials about Marilyn Monroe that I have seen. Most of the UA-camrs that have tried to do a Marylin Monroe tutorial they look like a cheap imitation of the legendary Marilyn. I am all about the historical accuracy, and whenever they are nowhere close it makes me upset, but you have made an excellent video that I really enjoy!

      Pot Laura Robert’s though sitting there with rubber in her head, she wasn’t cast on a screen project so why cover herself with a wig just for a video, see,s Wigmaker don’t make for tv and longer projects that need them

      Dion Marc Creations I love this also, I learnt a lot like how you do the makeup when the person’s hair is hidden by rubber and before the wig is fitted, i know my assistant is chasing up networks down under but us still hope to work with you when our project is better on track.

    She also used brown eyeliner from the inner corner of the eyes to the middle and than she went with black or dark brown eyeliner.
    I think that she used other things too to highlight her face because in her photos she looked really glowy within and that was for sure not only vaseline maybe she had shimmer highlighter under her foundation or something. I know that she had blonde fuzz but I don't think that took a huge part of what she looked because she was also glowy in less light.

    Why is it no one ever talks about Ben Nye? He was in charge of makeup in almost all her movies. I LOVE her make up in Niagara💋
    🍸🍸🍸

    • @TheJMadmakeup
      @TheJMadmakeup  5 років тому +2

      While I Do agree with you, Ben Nye would be makeup designer for many films all shooting at the same time on the studio lot and as such didn't have a lot todo with Marilyn's makeup. when an actress was first signed to a film studio there makeup and aesthetics team created there signature look which would be the look for every film after with only miner things changing I.E the position her her beauty mark. Lipstick and blush colours also changed depending on if the film was in colour, panivsion or technicolour as pinks where used in earlier films like Niagara as the three strip colour process translated it to a red tone, and bright red interfered with the processing. after ben nye retired he created a cosmetics company which has been passed down to his sons, in there lipstick range there is a shade called marilyn monroe, tho it's not a match to any of the true marilyn shades i own.

      Thank you honey....I figured that to be the case. I see the huge difference between her makeup in Niagara and in How to Marry a Millionaire and all her movies. I know that in Bus Stop they made her makeup very pale bc "Charree" worked all night.
      Anyhoo, one last question. What gives with her mole? Was it real? I.ve loved Marilyn since my Daddy took me to see Some Like it Hot at a theatre that ran "old" flix. I was four? Five, tops, and I didn.t get why she had her "beauty mark" in some pictures or movies and then she didn.t in others. Just been wondering.

    I'm hear to tell you, that while it was popular to use Vaseline in the 50s-60s on your face, it's taboo today. I worked at Merle Norman's Cosmetic Studio in 2006-2007. A lady who came in, wanted a new skin care Routine and make up look. While we discussed it, I was removing her make up, and even after having steamed her skin, and used toner, there was still another layer of makeup. I was shocked, and so. Was she. I just looked at her and shrugged. This was a result of her putting Vaseline on her face, daily for years. Vaseline, is an oil by-product. It's what's left over once you separate it. It sits on your skin. It doesn't hold moisture in, it keeps it out! Put a thin layer of the product on your hand, then run it under tap water. ... Get the picture? Always read the ingredients on skin care. Stay away from mineral oil as well. It clogs your pores, and causes acne. Also be aware of products with hidden names for such products. If you can't pronounce it, don't put it on your skin.

    • @TheJMadmakeup
      @TheJMadmakeup  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Janet i completely agree with you, i'm not recommending any of these products for use. i completely understand your point i have studied cosmetic chemistry for a number of years so i'm very ingredient focused. this video is a recreation using the products and techniques Marilyn used not my professional take on how to create this look with modern knowledge and formulas.
