    I'm so glad you're doing videos regularly, and am definitely looking forward to watching all the videos from the 30 day challenge.
    Also, this kind of hairstyle is the reason I keep contemplating cutting my hair short -- these styles/your hair look so good!

      It's a great haircut! And you can still do victory rolls and pin it back in various ways because it's not so short that it's limiting.

    I love your videos. Compared to other vintage inspired videos I've watched, I love yours because you actually know what your talking about.

    Can you do the same setting pattern with a wet set using foam rollers?

    😮It’s definitely a way to get volume! What would you do if it’s crazy volume? Keep brushing? Sometimes I brush too much and lose the set.

    • @MissBeeTownsend
      @MissBeeTownsend  3 роки тому +1

      Keep brushing. Sometimes it seems like it's straight and if you brush more it comes back. Especially if you brush around your hand to mold the shape.

    It looks great! I wish tomorrow wasn't a shampoo day, I'd try this. I have the 6-inch middy cut, so I think it would work really well.

      It would be perfect! You'll look like Marilyn when she first got the super short cut and went blonde!

    This is perfect!! it's just what I've been looking for so thank you :) Would you someday think about doing a tutorial for Marilyn's hair more into the 60's when it was more of a big bouffant? Would the curling pattern and technique be relatively the same but just alot of teasing and volume at the root?

    • @MissBeeTownsend
      @MissBeeTownsend  7 років тому +4

      The curling pattern is different because you don't want to achieve the wave in the hair but, rather, a kick at the bottom. So, I will do a tutorial :) Great idea! A more challenging do too! 60s is much more complicated (I think). x

    • @Kaamichannel
      @Kaamichannel 7 років тому

      MissBeeTown Thanks for the reply! and oh ok I see what you mean about wanting a kick at the ends rather than waves I just looked at a photo of Marilyn on the set of Something's Gotta Give and it's definitely more wispy and flicky than waves. If you do make a tutorial I am very much so looking forward to it! hopefully it's not too challenging x

    Hi Bee! I love your videos!! I used your original vintage hot roller tutorials to learn how to do hot rollers back in December. All the ladies at work love my hair and I constantly get compliments when I curl it. Thanks for helping me look fabulous! 💁🏻❤️ I can't wait for your 30 days of videos. Here's my thoughts for a video idea (since no one has mentioned it yet)... could you do a quick hair up-do tutorial? It will be getting horribly hot here in Florida soon, so I'd like something to keep my hair pinned up, but still look romantic with curls. Thanks! 💕--Christine

    This is a great tutorial! I think these purple rollers are cool, what is the brand name? Are the purple clips in the middle of the top of the roller removable duckbill clips? I'd love to find this particular hair setter. Thanks! 💜

    • @MissBeeTownsend
      @MissBeeTownsend  Рік тому +1

      Its a Remington. I wouldn’t recommend it. It’s awful to use and doesn’t set the hair well as the rollers quickly loose heat. I recommend looking for rollers with bobbles on the cylinders and with the metal hoop pins or straight metal pins to secure the curlers. Makes for a much tighter and long lasting curl.

    Your videos are the absolute most helpful I've ever found! Plus you are just adorable :)
    I know it's not your style (and that you already did a Veronica Lake video), but I need some help with doing more uniform defined yet soft s-waves a la Lana Del Rey. I can't seem to get them right and although they're more modern you seem to be the hair whisperer.

    • @MissBeeTownsend
      @MissBeeTownsend  6 років тому

      The hair whisperer! Haha! I love that! What are you using to curl? A more modern-style s-wave throughout the hair can be achieved with a curling iron but is kinda hard to do on yourself. You can def get it at the front though. Make sure you curl all in the same direction and use a comb to coax the wave into the hair.

    • @sarahmariev18
      @sarahmariev18 6 років тому

      Sweet! Thanks for the reply. I've been experimenting with a couple different curling methods...I use a curling iron when traveling, but I prefer rollers (hot ones just for a night out, but I'm learning to master sponge roller sets, too). I have seen a few people do the (non-vintage) method when they twist as they roll instead of keeping the flat ribbon to get waves sort of like people achieve with wands. I'll keep trying different things though...thanks again.

    How would I ask a hair dresser to cut my hair like yours here ? Layers ? I really am not brave enough to cut my hair any shorter than your is in the his video . Love love love the way it looks

    • @MissBeeTownsend
      @MissBeeTownsend  6 років тому

      I just had a layered shoulder length bob (it was a very modern French cut). But you can simply ask for a Marilyn and take a photo of her hair when it's a bit longer - I've done that twice with different non-vintage specialist hairdressers and it worked out great.

    Is your hair a long bob with layers and is it slightly shorter at the back and longer at the front?

    how does the directions of the rollers change for if you are using a curling wand and pin curls? is it curled under instead of over on alternating rows?

    • @MissBeeTownsend
      @MissBeeTownsend  3 роки тому

      Always the same regardless of the setting method xx

    I saw a set of brush rollers in Marilyn's old makeup bag, do you think it would give the same effect?

    • @MissBeeTownsend
      @MissBeeTownsend  7 років тому

      Maybe but they often make the hair frizzy. She may have used them later in the 60s, when she had more of a bouffant, as they give volume but not great curl (in my experience).

    hello pretty lady. can I achieve this hairstyle with sponge rollers??

    • @MissBeeTownsend
      @MissBeeTownsend  5 років тому +1

      You might find sponge rollers produce too tight a curl. I'd recommend pin curls or hot rollers. Good luck with it! Xx

      I tried to find out but they just say Remington. I wouldn't recommend them, they're honestly very frustrating lol! Remington ones with metal pins/clips and plastic barrels are much better.
