@@clownphonecase the original ending after Baldur's Gate is saved (good route) does not change. Ironically, the ending choices shown at the start of this vid from Patch 5 are the exact same as when the game launched. So there's no need to worry! The original romance ending has not changed at all.
He actually jokes about this. In Act 2, he tells the player he doesn't even know if the half-orc heritage is legit, as it might just be a unique physiology. It's fun hearing theories!

I think this ending is only possible if you romance Halsin solo. I was with both Karlach and Halsin and my epiloge was so cold! I wanted to go with Halsin since the final fight but apparently my Tav just went on adventures alone, and in the reunion the dialogs were a bit... distant. At least at the party Halsin said his home had a little place for me to join and I said I'd love to move with him, but there was no dialoge or scene to confirm I did at the end. I was kinda happy at least this time I got to say "yeah, I'd love to move with you" but still sad that I didn't get to see anything. This video is WHAT I WANTED FOR MY ENDING. LIKE, REALY 6 MONTHS WITHOUT EVEN A VISIT TO MY LOVE? Tav didnt even care to speak to any of the friends she made along the journey? That sounds nothing like the person I was all game long😭
I’m happy they concluded halsin’s romance more fully, but I’m still disappointed the poly options don’t really result in special dialogue. I know it would be a lot of work but it would be cool to see halsin end up with tav/astarion or tav/shadowheart
A lot of people were curious about this. Maybe one day the option will be included! Halsin is the oddball of all companions since he was never intended to have such a huge roll like our companions.
Especially since shadowheart wants something similar, to live in the woods with a bunch of animals. I feel like it’d be easy to have an option to combine the two.
@sarahhenry3262 that's exactly what I was hoping for after successfully romancing them both :( it would be so cute! But the epilogue implies you haven't seen Halsin once in six months while you've been with Shadowheart, and he talks about how much he misses you... it hurts 😭
Agreed, but the children are orphans. Eventually children being fostered will look up to their guardians under such titles! If the game's implication was to make Halsin a creep, I would never play it. (I doubt many would if that were the case). The game makes it clear that Halsin is their guardian in a good route playthrough so there's no cause for worry 💜

@@sori1692 I romanced Astarion and Halsin, and basically the ending party plays like you have romanced Astarion, making him the default romance (so you stay with him and Halsin goes on his own), BUT in this case you can HUG and KISS Halsin, like the lovers you were and will be :D
Yes, you get the first scene with him if you romance Astarion too. But when you go to the reunion, you show up with Astarion. Halsin will still kiss you and stuff tho
Are you referring to the very beginning of the vid? If you can, reload a save at the end of the final battle (or close to it). If you didn't skip anything it might be a glitch or perhaps another issue. So long as you don't romance another character, you should get everything seen here. 🥺 Hope this helps!

(It really shouldn't matter what option you choose at the docks, but if you haven't gotten all of Halsin romance scenes, it'll definitely affect the outcome.) 😰 It could be a glitch but now I'm wondering if everything in Act 1 needs to be a good run - like saving Arabella, confronting Kagha about Shadow Druids, etc... before saving the grove. I'm going to look into this.
This is an epilogue reunion to the final game. In a way, the story is complete in terms of the romance with our favourite bear! [Of course, there could be possible DLC in the future and added content with future updates.] For cutscene purposes, the romance is complete with this reunion - mainly for anyone looking to watch this content to see how it ends 😊
@@MoonsongReverbaside from flirting with him and doing all of his and Thaniel's quests in Act 2? Not really. This was my 1st run so I may not know of other routes beside the good one where you save everyone. Thaniel's quests play a big part in this outcome at least.
More updates will come! In all fairness, Astarion has been the poster-child for BG3...but all companions are expected to get the same treatment. (Astarion's main kiss animation was updated though. Check your save files!)
