oh was bout to say: "don't really like djent but this song i do"... no wonder i liked it, it's not djent.. anyhow.. cool tunes and playing as always, hunter!! keep it up.. badass song
Agufish hey man love the vid, just wondering if you could do some more guitar demos using the jet city. I'm considering buying one and I want to her as much sound demos as possible. Thanks keep rockin!!
Been looking at this guitar and Mark Holcomb's signature PRS. I'm not a periphery fanboy or anything, but both of those guitars seem kickass! Awesome review as always Hunter!!
My Chapman Ghost Fret also has luminescent inlays. The first night after I bought it I freaked out, when I saw something glowing in the corner of my room.
Two things: 1. I own a Jackson Rhoads Pro which is built in Indonesia. I almost didn't buy it because of all the stuff I read about the Indonesian made guitars. I'have owned the guitar for a year and a half and it is one of the most solidly built guitars I have and it's not the most expensive guitar I own. In a year and a half I haven't been able to find a single flaw with it and I am very picky. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another Indonesian guitar. 2. I also own a Basswood Ibanez Prestige. I almost didn't buy that one because of the things I heard about basswood. I literally cannot tell any difference from any other guitar. It might have a tiny effect on sound but I would never know it.
Actually there has been a test where they used the exact same guitarmodel with sme hardware and everything, only the wood was different. And they bot played through the same amp. No, not 2 amps of the same model, but the same single amp one after another and there was actually a noticeable difference. Nothing gigantig, but you could tell the difference.
I can't hate on bolt-on necks or basswood bodies. The EVH Wolfgang USA model has both. He swears by the basswood for its consistency. It works for him , so why not?! 🤔
John Suhr was once quoted as saying the basswood/maple combination is the holy grail of tone believe it or not. I was surprised too. But im not questioning that guy. He's the most talented dude the Fender custom shop ever produced.
there is basswood and then there is basswood. Ibanez have been using different species on almost all their models ranging up to professional prestige series and beyond. I have an 1527 prestige and it's lovely.
About the 16 inch radius, Misha once said he wanted it to be different than the USA models, since the pickups have a different feel compared to the BKPs, he thought why not go further by changing the fretboard radius as well
I think I've seen that interview, and it may be true, but my speculation is that the idea of having a different feeling guitar could have stemmed from a technical limitation at the factory. The thing is I don't know of any other guitars out of Indonesia that have that 20" fingerboard radius, at least not from Jackson (I could be wrong, generally the ones that have the flat fingerboards aren't my kind of guitars). The factory may not have the correct mold, and even if they were to get it, it might not be cost-efficient for them to do it for just a couple of models. This happens all the time in China, at least. Manufacturers sometimes have to use multiple factories if they do more than one model because of technical limitations at each one. Again, just speculation.
Agufish Might be true as well, considering how Mark Holcomb's PRS SE, made in Korea, in the same price range has a 20 inch radius. It must probably be a manufacturer thing.
I have this and it’s been upgraded with everything on the USA version.. USA hipshot bridge and locking tuners, bareknuckle juggernaut battle worn pickups and a graph tech nut as-well as hipshot o ring knobs this guitar is phenomenal and I love it so much so happy I was able to get it for 550$ with all the upgrades!!
Jackson makes really good guitars. I've been playing a KV4 since 2001 and I wouldn't trade it for anything. That looks like a really solidly built axe and I like the way they did the heel, makes for playing up higher on the neck easier.
Love the editing on this video. Song is also entirely awesome, I like this a lot more than a lot of the all instrumental prog stuff. Completely reaffirmed my preconceptions about this guitar. Absolutely brilliant video.
I am not usually a fan of Jacksons at all, but, that is quite elegant. I like the simple classic look with the 3x3 headstocks. That is one of the reasons I love Schecters so much very nice. Good Job Jackson. I love that satin silver looking finish. It is about the same color as the hardware on my Schecter. The offset inlays are a nice touch too.
Have you ever thought of doing one of the new explorers? I know you are not a huge pointy guitar guy, but I personally think they look pretty cool. If not, maybe one of the new pro mod charvelle guitars. They are essentially fender guitars for metal. Also, would you rather fight a hundred duck sized horses, or one horse sized duck? Keep up the good work! Lovin' the mishacorns, btw
Yes, I have thought about doing explorers! I've been doing too many GIbbos recently though so I'm trying to do a few things non-Gibson first. And yes! I really wanted to try out a Charvel Duplanter sig. A hot-rodded tele with a TOM Bridge and stoptail? Yas pls. Then I found out it was $2,800... The Mishacorns are so dumb and so funny. If Misha ever watches this video I hope he appreciates them lol. And one horse-sized duck for sure. After I've defeated it, I would take it down to my favorite Chinese BBQ place because they know how to cook the hell out of it.
Bolt on is actually my favorite type of neck joint, unless it’s super boxy/not smooth, but I own a higher end Schecter guitar and it’s bolt on, and I absolutely Love it
Just got this guitar, i think its brilliant. 5 way switch for more tones, tone knob is off unless pulled to prevent it affecting tone, locking tuners and yeah i think the pickups are extremely clean not super high output but can be boosted into high gain without any extra noise
sick axe man, in love with the mishacorns and most importantly you playing, passion and dedication, and humor have made these vid some of my fav demos/reviews on YT - cheers for being awesome bro
I was worried about the pickups too, but they sound really nice. When you reach 100$ on patreon I suggest you try the Ibanez Jake Bowen sig, he is a Periphery guitarist as well and his sig seems really badass. It looks great (black beauty color scheme) and has some really great specs (DiMarzio Titans, Mahogany body etc.). I think you will dig it :)
I love my Holcomb SE, but the tuning stability is trash. Getting the nut replaced, hopefully that does it. The fit and finish cosmetically is a bit eh too, so they cut back in places. (obviously) Overall though, it's a fantastic guitar. I'm contemplating picking up one of these.
I find the "handmade" reverence aspect of pickup making a bit over exemplified.hand made doesn't denote better pickups. scatterwound usually leads to tonal inconsistencies.3 out of 4 of my guitars have custom pickups made to my tastes and even though I love every single pair the Alpha Omegas are the more consistent pickup. My PRS Holcomb is my go to recording guitar just because it's so wonderfully consistent. The thing that I think everyone forgets about BKP and Periphery is that the two are intrinsically linked through Nolly because it was a business venture of his. So naturally they're all going to go sing BKP's praises above everyone else. BKP is badass but Keith Merrow helped design the Alpha Omega set with mark in the custom shop so calling them your run of the mill mass produced pickup is a bit of a misnomer. They began as a handmade custom shope run then performed so well that the demand became a standard run. So to refute the sentiment that handmade is why Jackson couldn't throw those in is a fallacy. The issue probably had more to do with legal constraints or BKP being unable to keep up with factory demand at that point because they still wound by hand. Then again basswood, veneer, stock pickups and hardware really doesn't add up to $800 does it? If you were to kit this guitar out it would cost $350-$450 to build yourself but who want's to do that?
ivebeen I work with 3 boutique pickup companies and that's not how they reference their price points. An average pickup doesn't have hours of labor in them. Even if it's "hand made" it still employs a machine while you hold and roll the bobbin. I've made a few myself and there's truly nothing to it to justify such a massive jump in price over other pickups. It's marketing. It would different, although pointless, if you only used very very select wire and only made a handful in a series to customer custom specs. That is worth $300 because it's unique. Pickups are just wire and magnets. That's it. They're still made from plastic bobbins unless you buy planks of tone woods for specialty bobbins and covers then that's worth a price bump. Otherwise there's never going to be a reason why everything costs as much as it does now. It's all just clever marketing and the average consumer eats it up hence why guitars and after market parts have skyrocketed. Now if you want to get into something being very expensive due to R&D then look at the line 6 Helix, fractal axe FX, Kemper profiler. Those are objects that are priced due to R&d man-hours. Roughly two years of coding and research went into making those units while all components within then combined costs around $80-$100 to manufacture. Stuff like that has the right to claim that but a mass produce bundle of wire and magnets? There's only a handfull of variables that can occur with the world of pickups. I have a custom set of pickups in my MusicMan JP that has laser etched and abalone covers that are gorgeous. Those took a grand total of two hours to make to meet my specs. I have the only set of them in the entire world and nothing else really stacks up against how perfect they sound. Those cost me $230. My Ibanez frix6 has a custom Alnico viii bridge pickup with clear bobbins and it was also hand made. It cost me $100 and is the absolute best pickup for metal on the planet. My Chapman ml1 baritone has a custom set ceramic and Alnico mid output pickups that are also handmade and cost me $200. In my PRS 277 semi hollow I have a set of machine made bkp pig90's that cost me $350. Makes sense right? The bkp's are amazing though. I'm very happy with buying them but after having custom spec pickups for half the price and the same tonal profile why do I pay more for that brand? It's not an increase in quality or even a difference in parts and materials.
not a djent guy either, haven't really listened a lot to periphery (although i know they're phenomenal musicians). but this guitar looks real nice i must say. i think the pick-ups sounds quite good, certainly a pleasant surprise, given it's jacksons's proprietary .
The only downside I found in the Pro Juggernaut is the choice of finish - but it makes sense to see what it does on the market before flooding us with colors.
Wow, amazing review man. This is my favorite demo track you've ever done. I really enjoyed the Prog approach. You should see if you can get your hands on Jake or Mark's (Periphery's other two guitarists) budget models. Jake has the Ibanez JBM20 and Mark the the PRS SE Mark Holcomb.
Have you ever considered reviewing some EVH gear, like the 5150 LBXII amp? Seems like the kind of amp that would be right up your alley in terms of tone. It actually has a dedicated clean channel unlike the original LBX, which just had a crunch and super high gain channel. Also, do you think Dime had a great guitar tone? Or does it just flat out suck like I think it does?
Picked up this guitar at a local GC, looks really cool in pics and video but in person it just feels bare and cheap. It sounds great but for its features I feel like it should be down with the comparable $200-$500 range Ibanez models. It was hard for me to justify spending the money on this when I could get something like the prs Holcomb for a hair more. Not saying its a bad guitar!! It's just a bit overpriced for what it contains.
Thanks man! I basically listened to nothing but djent for an afternoon to see what I could come up with. And I thought the Mishacorn was something he'd appreciate if he ever watches this video lolol
I bought one a few days ago. It´s like you said, not the best looking Guitar, but man, it sounds great and the feeling/playability - awesome. I asked Misha, if the Hipshot Bridge from the USA Models will fit and he replied, that they should fit one on one. I have a Hipshot Bridge for years, which is new and i will put it in. I will also switch the Pickups and maybe the Nut to an compensated one. Basswood is used by Ibanez and nobody ever mentioned it for being cheap, so, who cares, if it sounds and plays great ?
Misha uses Basswood even in his USA Juggernauts. In a recent Rig Rundown with Premier Guitar, he said that most of his favorite players used Basswood guitars and that Basswood is a very consistent tonal wood as well as very light.
I usually don't like bolt on necks just because it reminds me of something cheap like a cheap epiphone or squire. I know that the sustain is also usually better in through neck guitars and the neck joint for bolt on necks are usually huge. But this is an exception lol. Bolt on necks can be really nice if done right. I hate that I have that initial feeling about bolt on necks being sometimes it makes me automatically assume the guitar isn't as good as it really is so I try to have an open mind about that. Either way this is definitely one that's been done right. I could maybe even say it's an affordable alternative but that's really dependent on the person. It's relatively affordable lol. Compared to the normal $3000 guitar, this is pretty cheap at about $800. And it's honestly a really good deal
I try this awesome guitar, the only bad thing it's the pickups, but we changed for bareknuckle, Seymour Duncan or Dimarzio's pickups. I prefer the Dimarzio's pickups
Hey man have you considered to demo the 7 string version? I'm hearing different opinions and cannot decide whether to buy it or not :/ great review btw, i love basswood, very light! that is the only thing that matters to me for a body wood
Y'know Hunter; I don't know about you but I think Misha's best work was with Carcass in the White Pony album where he played alongside Fredrik Thordendal, Gene Hoglan, Christian Olde Wolbers and George Fisher to produce one of the greatest extreme hardcore vegan pornogrind albums of all time.
Got one myself and since I didn't like his BKP Juggernauts to begin with, I thought these were even worse. Gonna swap them out with something not as thin sounding asap.
Dude. It's a pro series. For an indo guitar it's not bad. Although , I have both of the iommi epiphone SG models and they have HIS USA Gibson pickups. Worth more than the guitar lol. So could they have put in better pickups for the money they saved on basswood construction and less money to make. Maybe. But then who would buy the USA right 😂. I dunno. That one seems just blah to me. I have the indo monarch Jackson. That one is pretty damn great. Dude !!! You put Mishas head on a my little pony bwhahhahahah o about shit lol. Great playing man! Sounded good. From what I see. I'd give it a 6 outta 10.
I love the way it plays personally but it’s hard for me to play a guitar that pointy. I love periphery but I just can’t do the pointy horn and heel. Mark Holcomb’s prs se however is gorgeous and sounds amazing. Which is why I have one in my house
I've been playing Jackson guitars for about 9 years now. Went to the store last night to try this guitar out and HOLY SHIT was I disappointed. These guitars feel so cheap and the frets are terrible. I wouldn't pay more than $250 for this guitar. I love Jackson but the quality of their non USA models have gone down the drain.
I'm choosing between this guitar, Washburn solar 160 and jackson soloist slattxmgq3-6. I want to play different types of music, but most of the time metal stuff. Can you give some advice? Nice video btw!
Thanks man! I've only actually played this one out of the three, and I have a feeling it's really only good for metal. The pickups ceramic pickups are great for the high-gain stuff, but may sound a little too ice-picky for mellower styles.
i know this vid is 2 years old but i bought this same model used for $430. but i didn't realize until i got home that each fret has a crack. (a little thicker than hairline) i don't care that there are cracks, but should i be worried about the sound quality or longevity of the guitar? is it worth repairing? is i worth swapping the pick ups since i got this for cheaper ?
I love flat fretboards, they're amazing for leads/shreddy stuff. I have 2 EBMM Majesty's and the flat fretboard is one of the main reasons why I love them, I personally think all guitars should have at least a 16" fretboard.
Could you do a king v please? I was wondering if I should save up for a gibson flying v but I love my jackson dinky. I love flying v shape guitars. What would you do.
Hey Hunter. quick question. do you know what twitch is and if so I think you should get on it. I know you have a passion for editing and all the jazzy but the ease of the format since it's live streaming and the fact that you can receive donations as well as make revenue from the site seems like a no brainer. you know help you find your UA-cam channel and also make another platform for some serious revenue. just a thought
I have the exact same guitar, I'm playing as I watch this review Wicked Axe!! \m/ However..... I'm a big Dream Theater fan and i'm thinking of putting in new pickups. either the Crunch Lab or Liquifire set, or the Illuminators. thoughts? p.s. i've tried the bare knuckles. the neck pickup isn't to my taste of what i like in a neck humbucker pickup.
Hope you're enjoying that new guitar dude! In terms of pickups, I haven't tried any DiMarzios except the Super Distortion, which was kind of meh for me. You're a huge Dream Theater fan, but are you a fan of Petrucci's tone? If that's the tone you're going for, do it! If not, do some more research. There are LOADS of pickups out on the market now, and you can even hit up smaller winders like Tim at Buddha pickups for custom winds at like $50 a pickup.
did not expect to get reply from you haha! I have done research on both, but yet i'm still on the fence about it. thanks for both the info and the reply man! :)
Dan Reid I haven't tried all of the jp pickups you have listed but I do have Illuminators in my 7 string and I am really not a fan of them the neck pickup is decent but I hate the bridge it feels really lacking and undefined. My friend has a liquidfire neck in one of his guitars that sounds pretty good though.
I have it and it works perfectly. Haven't played live but I've rehearsed with it and I can go from Drop a 7 to Drop f# without it getting fuzzy and on my 6 I can go from Drop c all the way down to a-a# before it starts getting fuzzy. I'd recommend I love it because I don't have to bring multiple guitars or buy them in that matter
my only complaint was the electronics were messed up right out of the box. switching didn't work on position 2. Other than that, it feels and sounds pretty decent, but I'd say it's more of a $600 guitar as far as quality goes. just my opinion
Yeah I've been hearing more and more of electronics issues with these... apparently I got a good one. Shame that Jackson doesn't have their overseas quality together quite yet.
Inb4 djent is a lie, song isn’t even real dj0nt!!1!
oh was bout to say: "don't really like djent but this song i do"... no wonder i liked it, it's not djent.. anyhow.. cool tunes and playing as always, hunter!! keep it up.. badass song
Agufish hey man love the vid, just wondering if you could do some more guitar demos using the jet city. I'm considering buying one and I want to her as much sound demos as possible. Thanks keep rockin!!
sounds pretty Djenty to me.
Djent sucks anyway
so does your opinion.
Been looking at this guitar and Mark Holcomb's signature PRS. I'm not a periphery fanboy or anything, but both of those guitars seem kickass! Awesome review as always Hunter!!
got em both and it's a true toss up bro.....
My Chapman Ghost Fret also has luminescent inlays. The first night after I bought it I freaked out, when I saw something glowing in the corner of my room.
Same. I got the 7 string lunar version
lol.
Two things:

Pitdog360 the whole tone wood thing to me is more of the acoustic sound but through an amp its all the pickups

Burnt Gerbil not to mention vai, satriani, petrucci, angel Vivaldi, tosin abasi, etc, just to name a few ;)
Tyler Saltmarsh i thought Angel used alder, I guess that's just my mindset for Charvel
TheProGamer1223 he definitely might, I guess I was throwing him in the bolt-on crew more so!
I love how Misha's face is flying around everywhere XD
my favorite part
About the 16 inch radius, Misha once said he wanted it to be different than the USA models, since the pickups have a different feel compared to the BKPs, he thought why not go further by changing the fretboard radius as well
I think I've seen that interview, and it may be true, but my speculation is that the idea of having a different feeling guitar could have stemmed from a technical limitation at the factory. Agufish Might be true as well, considering how Mark Holcomb's PRS SE, made in Korea, in the same price range has a 20 inch radius. It must probably be a manufacturer thing.
Agufish the indo made jacksons are made by cort, the average radius on their guitars is 16 inches...
no, he said that he likes flat fretboard, that's it lol
"Misha as herself" like if you know the vid. And gg hunter
Apparently no one knows the vid :( Not even me lol.
I gotchu
Part of their Clear/The Office parody video, he was credited as "Misha as herself"
BlapDuck someone knows yes!!
lmao love that video
Does not djent enough if you don't have at least 9 strings and if your tab should look like this: 0000000000 :p Great video!
lolol rookie mistakes. First time writing anything remotely djenty. I'm still learning.
Also, even tho it's "plain" and "minimalistic" it's kinda something that makes it so nice
First demo I didn't skipped any of the demo play-through. Sick song man
I used to be a member of the Bolt-On Hate Squad. THEN.... I acquired an Ibanez Prestige RG2550Z and all that changed forever.
I've tried one. easily one of the best guitars ive played on. couldn't believe it had jackson stock pickups.
Jackson makes really good guitars. I've been playing a KV4 since 2001 and I wouldn't trade it for anything. That looks like a really solidly built axe and I like the way they did the heel, makes for playing up higher on the neck easier.
Playthrough editing level 9000. The floating Misha Heads almost killed me!
Love the editing on this video. Song is also entirely awesome, I like this a lot more than a lot of the all instrumental prog stuff. Completely reaffirmed my preconceptions about this guitar. Absolutely brilliant video.

Literally googled this guitar and went back to UA-cam and this is in my recommended

Agufish you might actually be in luck. Charvel recently announced a pro-mod Duplantier model at around $1000. Just thought I would let you know. 🤘
Agufish try getting a cort Matt Bellamy dude! those things are amazing and a great price
Dang man! Badass riffs! Beautiful cleans and composition this guitar fits your play style very well man ! Keep it! You're an amazing guitarist :)
When your jamming on these are these all songs your making up as you go. They sound awesome
Thanks dude! Not making them up on the go, but I am writing them for the demos.
Bolt on is actually my favorite type of neck joint, unless it’s super boxy/not smooth, but I own a higher end Schecter guitar and it’s bolt on, and I absolutely Love it
I guess that answers that question. It does in fact djent. Wicked riffage, dude! The Shia LaBeouf graphic was hilarious. More like this!!
Lol I may have had a little too much fun with the editing this time around...
This track needs to be on Spotify.
Just got this guitar, i think its brilliant. 5 way switch for more tones, tone knob is off unless pulled to prevent it affecting tone, locking tuners and yeah i think the pickups are extremely clean not super high output but can be boosted into high gain without any extra noise
I was going to leave a witty comment, but screw it I love this song, I love this guitar, I love this video, I LOVE that amp, I love you hunter! 🙂
dawww thnx bb
No problem bae
I have the USA version of this arriving soon. So excited. Can't wait for that Laguna Blue goodness.
omg love ur detailed demo and voice!keep it up bro, your review is just so so nice
sick axe man, in love with the mishacorns and most importantly you playing, passion and dedication, and humor have made these vid some of my fav demos/reviews on YT - cheers for being awesome bro
Thanks dude! Really happy to hear you're enjoying the content!
Great review Hunter! Jackson has been my favorite brand for as long as I have been playing. Sweet guitar!
that name is insanely long! haha. great demo as always! and Misha looked like he had fun. lol
You had a little bit too much fun editing this didn't you
Oh man the Mishacorn made me bust a gut. Nice! 🦄 As for the guitar cool for the price but I’m not looking to get one. I’m really into single cuts.
There is nothing wrong with basswood, all the older Ibanez RG series and older Charvels are mostly basswood and they are great guitars.
EMCZIX I bought the DiMarzio Titan pickup for my Jackson Rhoads and that thing is wicked
The mark Holcomb se has his legit 300$ pickups in it, no reason why this "pro" series Jackson shouldn't have misha's
Except the Holcomb SE has mass produced pick ups in it and Bare knuckles are still made by hand in the UK. Pretty big thing to over look
Float. Face down. Mishas pup are 400$ and hand made 🤦♂️
I find the "handmade" reverence aspect of pickup making a bit over exemplified.hand made doesn't denote better pickups. scatterwound usually leads to tonal inconsistencies.3 out of 4 of my guitars have custom pickups made to my tastes and even though I love every single pair the Alpha Omegas are the more consistent pickup.
The satin feel is a Jackson thing from my experience
back in the day when only the guitar and the pickups were signature. Now, the Topo water, the picks, strings, OD, beanie, and stuff
not a djent guy either, haven't really listened a lot to periphery (although i know they're phenomenal musicians). but this guitar looks real nice i must say. i think the pick-ups sounds quite good, certainly a pleasant surprise, given it's jacksons's proprietary .
Good stuff dude! I know its been requested before, by myself as well many others, but how bout that Jackson Dominion??
The only downside I found in the Pro Juggernaut is the choice of finish - but it makes sense to see what it does on the market before flooding us with colors.
Hey Hunter, your content is really great. I don't get why you don't have a million subscribers.
haha, guitar is a small niche. metal guitar is a smaller niche within a niche. and I can't grow a proper beard :(
Dude, why don't you do a video showing your guitar collection ?
Wow, amazing review man. This is my favorite demo track you've ever done. I really enjoyed the Prog approach. You should see if you can get your hands on Jake or Mark's (Periphery's other two guitarists) budget models. Jake has the Ibanez JBM20 and Mark the the PRS SE Mark Holcomb.
I played one and it was incredible.
Did I just witness you going to your happy place when you were playing those clean tones?
Have you ever considered reviewing some EVH gear, like the 5150 LBXII amp?
Seems like the kind of amp that would be right up your alley in terms of tone. It actually has a dedicated clean channel unlike the original LBX, which just had a crunch and super high gain channel.
Also, do you think Dime had a great guitar tone? Or does it just flat out suck like I think it does?
I was wondering what your clean settings were? Sounded great for a 6505+...
Nice video! Informative and high quality.
Great video! Keep it up
awesome riffs man, getting quite proggresive :D
That’s a nice guitar with a lot of good features for the money.
I'm friends with Misha on Facebook. Cool guy!
I can hear the inspiration from The Bad Thing too
Well my dude that's some pretty good first dj0nt!! #yaboi that unicorn misha tho
Thanks man! I basically listened to nothing but djent for an afternoon to see what I could come up with. And I thought the Mishacorn was something he'd appreciate if he ever watches this video lolol
***** Hell yeah and Misha would most likely appreciate the hell out of it lol
Fredrick from Meshuggah is the godfather of Djent.
More like “Lune” inlays
Nice playing and funny editing, keep it up! #agusquad
nice rythem work young man
Hey man have you considered to demo the 7 string version? I'm hearing different opinions and cannot decide whether to buy it or not :/ great review btw, i love basswood, very light! that is the only thing that matters to me for a body wood
Y'know Hunter; I don't know about you but I think Misha's best work was with Carcass in the White Pony album where he played alongside Fredrik Thordendal, Gene Hoglan, Christian Olde Wolbers and George Fisher to produce one of the greatest extreme hardcore vegan pornogrind albums of all time.
Been looking at a set of those pickups (local) but don’t know seems versatile like what I’m wanting both beautiful and meaty
I love Jackson but the quality of their non USA models have gone down the drain.
noobker really? Iam from argentina. I was thinking of buying it. on ebay I saw her for $ 400 plus what I have to pay to get to Argentina, $ 300
Nice job man, gave you a sub!
I'm using an Epiphone Lespaul Special ii. Will this guitar be an upgrade for me??
Will putting Seymour Duncan(Alpha-Omega) pick ups instead of the stock that it comes with a good idea?
Definitely
I'd rather go with Dimarzio Titans if I were you, I don't think that the Mark Holcomb set will play well with the basswood.
Hi Hunter! Can you tell us the exact weight of the guitar please? Was it well balanced?
I'm choosing between this guitar, Washburn solar 160 and jackson soloist slattxmgq3-6. I want to play different types of music, but most of the time metal stuff. Can you give some advice? Nice video btw!
Thanks man! I've only actually played this one out of the three, and I have a feeling it's really only good for metal. The pickups ceramic pickups are great for the high-gain stuff, but may sound a little too ice-picky for mellower styles.
These pickups surprised me
Hey buddy how is the neck on it? Super thin? Or does it still have something to rest in your palm.
can you review the Jackson SLATTXMG3-7 Soloist?
By the way, do you preffer a prepared drink or just a plain beer when drinking?
I think you should check out the pro series monarhk. I played one in a store and it felt pretty good, if love to see an in-depth review though
i know this vid is 2 years old but i bought this same model used for $430. but i didn't realize until i got home that each fret has a crack. (a little thicker than hairline) i don't care that there are cracks, but should i be worried about the sound quality or longevity of the guitar? is it worth repairing? is i worth swapping the pick ups since i got this for cheaper ?
Cracks on frets (steel) or fretboard (wood)?, please clarify
When I see 16inch fingerboard *trying to die in pain on bed*
I know man, at least it ain't the 20" radius lol
Agufish 12" is the way to go imo unless you get a compound radius like 12"-16"
Agufish but still 16 inch is so flat for me *still trying to die*
I love flat fretboards, they're amazing for leads/shreddy stuff. I have 2 EBMM Majesty's and the flat fretboard is one of the main reasons why I love them, I personally think all guitars should have at least a 16" fretboard.
Hey Agufish! Great video. Any chance to review the Gibson les paul CM Black? Greetings from Perú! You rock! lml
Hey dude! Probably not, since it was a limited 2016 run :(
:c Thanks anyway! lml
That track. Is sick.
Thanks bruh!
Could you do a king v please? I was wondering if I should save up for a gibson flying v but I love my jackson dinky. I love flying v shape guitars. What would you do.
Did you just accidentally play some t-swift in your demo? Sick
Hey Hunter. quick question. do you know what twitch is and if so I think you should get on it. I know you have a passion for editing and all the jazzy but the ease of the format since it's live streaming and the fact that you can receive donations as well as make revenue from the site seems like a no brainer. you know help you find your UA-cam channel and also make another platform for some serious revenue. just a thought
Do you own every guitar you demo?
nope
don't let us forget, Steve Vai uses basswood.
lmao 1:56
misha pony over lord approves
would you be willing to do a precision drive pedal demo
If they send me one!
I have the exact same guitar, I'm playing as I watch this review Wicked Axe!! \m/
However.....
For a live setting how does the digitech drop tune pedal act, let's say swapping between drop B and C on a 6 and perhaps drop G and A on a 7
I have it and it works perfectly.
Grey is the new greyt? Who knows....buy let's go with it.....greyt review.
What is the nut width on that guitar Agufish? It looks nice and wide
1.6875" according to the website.
that is wider than my Schecter. I thought it looked a bit wide.. nice for us guys with big hands
my only complaint was the electronics were messed up right out of the box. switching didn't work on position 2.
Agufish they have to be good overall since misha uses them live haha but I can say the cosmetics were flawless
am sorry but i died at the usa do bad guitars part xD
I love bolt on!
Misha CHOSE basswood because he likes to tone and the lightweight characteristics. It wasn't a cost factor. His $3k guitars are made with basswood
that body shape looks oddly alot like the Dean Michael Angelo Batio MAB4 Gauntlet.....
Does it have the action low ?
