- Back with another video. The MPC Key 37 Is out! Even though I already own the Key 61 & MPC One- I still felt like the Key 37 would be a great addition to my collection and give me the same feel of the Key 61 without taking up a lot of space. Today I will show how I stay inspired and the method I use to overcome Creators Block/ Beat Block. So, hangout and let's explore this awesome technic together!

Brah... that gas be real sometimes so you had me rolling on that intro. But after visiting the amazing Thomann Music Store here in Germany and putting my hands on it, I can see why. Not only do the keys feel really surprisingly good, they also have excellent key travel in my opinion, that excelled over a few other nearby keyboards that I compared it to.
Also dig how you designed and wrapped your chords, bassline and drums around the acapella like a turtleneck sweater with practical theory to boot.
That is how you do bro and you made it look easy. Keep doing what you do IMB.

Im glad you were able to put-your hands on the key 🎹 37 i agree totally with you assessment. As for my playing- im really hoping to inspire, you can really do more with just alittle bit of as you said( practical theory)
Its really sad that most beat makers today don’t believe it’s useful or necessary. Hopefully this video shows the other side.

It may be funny too you that i have a brush on my keyboard 🎹, but im not ashamed at all its how i keep my shit clean 🧼 i watch UA-cam too!
Its amazing to me how people can spend all this money on studio gear and when u watch there videos its like they been eating dinner 🥘 on top of it! 🤔. So ya i got a brush, u will never 👎🏾 see my gear looking 👀 nasty and dirty with crumbs and 2 yrs of finger print smudges.

People ment using their studio 48v phantom powerd mic with this unit without the need for an external preamp as far as the inputs go. That being said Amazon sell a battery powered in line preamp for $79 just power. No AD converters. In my opinion it's really clean. I use it with my 404 mkii...

The plugin issue appears to be a registration delay. Devices show up as registered but, it takes a minute for Akai…Air Music…and whomever else is part of the software/plugin company. Once the device is put in the “Inmusic System” (not just Akai)…the plugins eventually show up.

Its all good i was able to get all the plugin that came with the Key 61 to also show up on my Key 37. I will be doing a video soon showing what i did! 👍🏾🎶🎹👊🏾
@@IMakeBeats It took about 18 hours after I registered my 37 for all my previous registered instrument plugins to eventually show up. After doing some digging. and asking around...8-48 hours seems to be the delay. That makes sense if the offices are in other timezones. My homeboy in Germany got his the same day as me (in Houston) and his plugins showed up in 10 hours (he registered at night when the business offices are closed) and his stuff popped up at 9am the next morning. When mine popped up it was 11 am in his timezone (during business ours over there). When people try to register on Friday's in the states...it usually takes around 2 days for their plugins to show up (Monday morning overseas during their business hours). I really think it is a timezone and manual authenticator issue.

Do you plan on keeping all the same devices? Especially with the mpc one being just like the mpc keys 37. I have heard other UA-camrs saying they are having issues with plugins. It's that new licensing system. It's just not right. I'm having issues with presets I purchase a few weeks ago that I still don't have access to yet on my force. I have shed off quite a few items from my studio that I just wasn't using. Trying to get down to just the things I am honestly using. It's hard when something cool drops and it's just different enough to be useful.
I do have alot of gear ⚙️. But i do plan on keeping what i have. Mainly because i really like the different units. Each one brings its own special element to music creation.
Being that i owned the X, and still have the One and Key 61 - i can say the Key 37 is more than an Mpc One. Its the best of parts of both the 61 and the Mpc One!
As for the plugins, i was finally able to get them on my Key 37. I will do a video soon explaining what i did! So stay tuned 🎹🎶👊🏾
If you have them registered on your mpc one and your key61 you can't register them on the key37 ..you have to deactivate them in one of the units as akai on allow you to have the plugins activated on two units at once

The only mpc i have thats got the plugins was the mpc key 61. But on worries i was able to get all the plugins on my key 37 and both the 61 & 37 have the plugins👊🏾
@@IMakeBeats nice...it probably was time for the system to actually sync with the new 37...I know my issue was what I explained as I have the 61 the x and now 37 had same issue but once I deactivated the x I was good to go not too mention I didn't do it till a cpl days later after I deactivated the x ..so probably had time to sync as well ...glad to rocking away ...im happy with mine for sure and the x I have midi with a juno so I'll be okay with out the plugins in that one but I still think akai should do sumn bout this if I buy the units I should be able to have them in all or another restoration or sumn..
@sweedlowery im enjoying both my 61 and now the key 37. They are both perfect for me. I started with the X- but after all the issues it gave me im good with the 61&37👊🏾
@@IMakeBeats lol I know that's rt ... definitely had a few hiccups with the x original but I sold that one and got the SE... smooth sailing since but I'll have to say thr key 61 is definitely my favorite hands down..I keep saying it if they ever open this thing up to accept external vst...sorry every other company...game over lol .wit yeah I love my 61 it's what I always wanted in a mpc a all in one verse having to sync a midi keyboard but its how i been rocking since the 90s with the asr 10 them then the mpc 2000 paired with a roland keyboard..so when the 61 dropped it was a no brainer when the 37 dropped it wad a no brainer...i travel now with my laptop mpc software and the mpk 225 and soon ad im back at the lab i transfer everything back to standalone mode and keep working but key 37 dropped um yeap mpk225 is up for sale rt now ...and ill go back to using my laptop for vocal sessions amd mastering finish songs ...that is until akai unlocks those external vst lol then my waves pluggins will be rt on there lol whole session done in standalone and not just a ruff dry run naw we talking mixed maseterd out the door...lol
Premium plugins might not work standalone with the 2gb ram.
All your plugins will work in controller mode

Where is all this gas is coming from? I ask myself this often and I own the MPC 61, live 2 and MPC One but I’m going to sell the one. I was so excited about the 37 keys that I know I didn’t need it but had ideas that led me to order it anyway.

Try to deactivate your plugins on another device. I believe the licenses are only good for two devices at a time. That includes your computer too.
Hey thx for trying to help! But i dont use my computer or the mpc software. And the only device that has plugins is the mpc key 61.
The mpc one still has 2.9 firmware on it and its never been connected to wifi or the computer 💻. So im confused still as to why I can’t install the plugins without having to purchase them for the key 37 🤷🏾

So i guess i gotta submit a trouble ticket 🎫 so i can find out why they arent showing under my key 61 and then i can try ur method. 👍🏾🎹🎶

@@IMakeBeats I had the same problem with my live2 and key 37 . I downloaded the content manager and it let me do it manually. I'm not explaining it good
Just use a patch cable and plug it into the output then into the input and then u can see the key
Why would i need to see the key? I already know its displaying the wrong key! I do play the piano 🎹 not sure what your point is.
Today, we have the MPC Key 37 where you have 8 plug-ins and cannot use any of your existing paid for plug-ins even though you can do so with every other MPC.
