My Key 37 arrives tomorrow, so I've been watching a lot of videos. I really appreciate your step by step approach. I'm learning the MPC workflow from scratch...yikes! But I figured out the SP404MK2, so with a few more of your videos, I should be good to go! Thank you, sir. Subscribed!
I've been looking at the Arturia Astrolab, but you made me realize I should be busy multisampling the V collection into my MPC Key 61. And yet the 37 looks really enticing and handy with its compact size.
The Arturia Astrolab looks like a really interesting board...their attempt at breaking into the stage keyboard and out of the controller market. They've got a good pack of sounds, but it looks like it's only certain sounds from their collections. Still interested to try it sometime!
Hey, man!! Thanks for making this video. I'm pretty convinced, however, I wanna know how easy it is to make a full track, not just loops. And then I'm wondering how easy it is to export each track individually to a DAW on the computer?? I would love to see a video of a full song from start to finish using just these two instruments and then exported to DAW for mastering!!!
Great Video...I have a Nord Electro5 and love it...Bought a MPCLive+ but sold it as I just could go from PC DAW to MPC way...I should have spent more time with it. Own a Nautilus, MODX, Roland FA06, Yamaha CK61 & MiniNova. Kinda of keyboard player gear head. Love all you videos...and thanks again
Great video. I really like your approach and clear instructions. I would like to know how you use the Akai key 37 during a live worship service. I thought an MPC was more about studio production. Do you use the live looping or instrument sounds during a live show? Thanks!
Thank you so much! I actually haven't used the MPC Key 37 live yet, but I have used the MPC key 61 and I used it not for looping, but for some of the additional instruments it provides. Most specifically the strings and some of the pluck/lead sounds that I really like. It's fun to play around with even if it wasn't the main keyboard in my setup.
Thanks! Yes! In the MPC Key 37 on your audio track, just make sure the input is set to the physical input you have the guitar plugged into. Happy playing!
Yo I’m really enjoying and appreciating your videos! I’m a new mpc 37 owner and trying to wrap my brain around the workflow of creating a beat. Something about the way you load up plugins and such is foreign to me compared to other workstations I’ve used. Do you have a vid that you created that walks through the basics? I’ve watched the unboxing and first impressions video you did but wondering about the next step
Thanks, I'm so glad! I have a couple videos that should help a lot! 1. Beginners Guide to Recording a Beat: ua-cam.com/video/omPYvNDzmC8/v-deo.html (start with this one) 2. Beginners Guide to Building a Song: ua-cam.com/video/hp2pdi7AIRo/v-deo.html
I currently own a Nord Stage 2EX (and a Focusrite 8i6 interface - snap!) and I'm considering buying an MPC Key 37 so this is a really useful video - thank you! I've been really enjoying your videos since I found your channel - great, friendly presentation and clear explanations of the equipment you use. And great playing too! Can I just ask one question about the MPC 37 (and sorry if this has already been covered on another video) - I know that it's only possible to have a maximum of 8 plug-in instruments but can you use the same plug-in (eg Studio Strings) on more than one recording track at a time? Thanks again 🙂

Thanks for the quick reply. I’d love to see a video about how to use the Akai 37 on a live stage.
Another amazing video! Would these be similar steps for plugging a guitar into the Key 37?

@@DSoundman Awesome - thanks again!

Akai,!!
WAV files on MPC 37 when recording\exporting... is it 48 kHz or 44.1? 16 bit or 24? Can't find it anywhere.
Can I insert a loaded SD into the Akai 37?
lol. The quantise screwed up my track. Or was it your timing lol.
Omkara a beautiful spiritual songwriter plays a Nord keyboard .
