Love your advice for the most part, but I actually like the overtly “girly” look with a cute dress and ballet flats. Plus I live in flats, as my feet can’t handle heels anymore.
I actually really love the ballet flats with that 'fussy' midi skirt at the end, I would definitely wear it that way! But otherwise I completely agree!
There’s something appealing and nostalgic about the girliness with the ballet flats. I think trying to modernize them is fine but using them as “intended” still looks great and holds up!
Funny how subjective fashion can be. I like almost all the don'ts more than the dos. Doing these kinds of videos can be tricky. I like your style and have incorporated good advice from your videos in the past. Also, got some great fashion advice from the don'ts this time. I like being a girly girl.
I guess the "do's" create yuxtaposition / contrast and the "dont's" creat harmony and cohesion. It all depends on the look you are looking for. Btw I also like the dont's better 🤭
I love and will continue to pair my Chanel ballet flats with everything. Yes including my short girly dresses. So cute and girly. Jeans and slacks too!!!! ❤🥰
Audrey Hepburn definitely rocked ballet flats, one of her favorite shoes, with both an androgenous look and a dress! These looks are really pretty tho 🔥
I love ballet flats with dresses-not how you shown them of course-but ballet flats are difficult to pull off as shoes. Needs long legs and calves and narrow fit
These are perfect for work I can whizz about the office all day and be on my feet feel so much better than wearing uncomfortable heels which I did for years and have the bunion to prove it 😅
Agreed with many of the ladies on here, the ballet flats look great with the short skirt and frilly shorts. Go femme all the way. Both looks are fine. If you're feeling the edge, do the edge, if you're feeling girly, get your flirt on 😊
I'm tall. I literally don't own any heels. I've worn flats my entire life and I like how its become trendy because now people are posting fashion vids on how to pair flats to look like a grownup. I mean I'm still going to wear flats with dresses and skirts regardless but its still nice to see fashion videos with flats
@@lilbleep566 Insecurity: my whole life I've been surrounded with short girls. I'm half asian so when I'm with asians I'm a giraffe. When I'm on campus I feel like a giraffe. Never been athletic or pretty enough to be a model and those two situations are usually where I'd run into taller girls. I dont like being taller than the guys I date either so I stick with wearing flatter shoes. I know 5'7" isn't super super tall because there are much taller girls out there, but my height is still taller than average. Between mean comments making fun of me through the years and my general insecurity I've grown a fear and lowkey hatred to wearing heels.
@@AnnieNugget Hi, I wanna tell you don't be self conscious of your height, it can help framing it more like not wearing heels because you are safisfied of it and want to stay comfortable in shoes and if you feel like wearing heels once in a while do it. I'm a 5' 7" too, but a guy and I think being self conscious about a woman being taller can be annoying and you may appreciate a man who isn't, even if he's a bit shorter, though that may also go for the women, she also needs to be confident enough to prioritize other aspects of compatibility than him being taller, and what the most shallow observers appreciate, I mean they are very likely a bit chauvinist if the judge the couple on that, their opinoin holds negative value :).
For you is "too girly" because your body typology is not feminine and you feel weird with that look. For me, as a hourglass and pure romantic type it's absolutely fine and adequate and looks amazing on me.
I think she's feminine in a different way, I understand she prefers more to contrast than to match classically feminine pieces, but she imho looked great with the flats paired with the short and midi dresses as well.
That guy knows better about our current situation and understands civics and politics better than so many well educated people I know. And even the lady in blue saree
Would love for you yiu to provide callouts for the Lux items you are wearing and providing the mid and low end options of quality pieces. For example, I am into the look of the Chanel flats you are wearing but I’d love to see your recs for mid range quality options rather than looking randomly on my own. I often wish you’d show a mid range option every time you style and outfit to include a Lux piece. I am a visual person so seeing the mid range ‘fit would be just as helpful as the lux version (but I know you don’t style Lux-only ensembles, which is one of the reasons I love your vids). Just a random thought as I set off to find Chanel ballet flat options…
My only comment so where is the fun? Fashion should be fun! And where is the colour! You look tres chic but a bit more soul and a bit less black would do you good. 🙊
If you press the three dots on the right hand of the screen and then press ‘description’ everything will come up - there also should be a pop up saying ‘shop here’ on the top right of the screen as you watch the video (if this doesn’t work on your phone then it will on a laptop) ❤️
The ballet flats looked good with the skirt and dress. I love a ballet flat with a linen black shift dress. Agree that Ballet flats don't look as good with a patterned skirt unless they're all one colour
So we do not wear skirts with ballet flats? Your suggested outfits are beautiful and Tipps useful, but would have loved to see an outfit with a dress and skirt with ballet flats that actually would work
Yeah, maybe she wore some skirt and dresses with flats elsewhere rarely in a few video, but here she seems to imply flats are not to be worn with skirts and imho they are awesome.
Cool, pardon my curiousity as this sounds interesting, you mean like these ones but with flats may be the case? i.pinimg.com/564x/1b/52/3b/1b523bd948a5d3bc5d5539890c21a433.jpg or like these? i.pinimg.com/originals/f0/47/33/f047335dfed798661bda7ac5f62d7d76.jpg
I don’t quite agree. I don’t like wearing sneakers because I am just not fond of the look it creates. Ballet flats are my go to because they are comfortable and low key. The thinner the sole, the better. And the more toe cleavage the better. ❤
Tldr: ballet flats goes will with pants and not with a any piece of clothing that has a skirt or skirt like lower... See. Was easy to condense that information
Just don't wear them. They were a trend that ruined all of our feet in the 2000s. Just don't do it lol. My feet are crying at this trend. Fallen arches all over the world are crying.
The only outfit that looked good with those flats was the mom jeans with the buttoned up, IMHO. The don't with the midi skirt looked much much better than with those black trousers. Their length killed the shoe in every look.
Love your advice for the most part, but I actually like the overtly “girly” look with a cute dress and ballet flats. Plus I live in flats, as my feet can’t handle heels anymore.
Me too, oops hehe
Me three 😅
Agree
Agreed!
Yes! I was wondering why she said not to use them with a dress
and also the longer skirt. They are suitable.
To anyone who wants to wear it with the "don'ts", just wear it. It still looks amazing. Wear it however it makes you feel happy and confident
I like the don'ts!! 😂
I actually really love the ballet flats with that 'fussy' midi skirt at the end, I would definitely wear it that way! But otherwise I completely agree!
I felt the same way!
I think the shoes went great with all those outfits!
Me too!
indeed! just a matter of choice.
There’s something appealing and nostalgic about the girliness with the ballet flats. I think trying to modernize them is fine but using them as “intended” still looks great and holds up!

Omg even with the stuff she said not to pair it with, it still looked really good! My god!
I had the same thought.
I like the don'ts better than the do's 😅😅
me too!! ahah
Same here. I don’t know what’s wrong since 2021-2022 with fashion
Because those large pants look boyish -.-
I guess the "do's" create yuxtaposition / contrast and the "dont's" creat harmony and cohesion. It all depends on the look you are looking for. Btw I also like the dont's better 🤭
nah the do's are much more balanced
but I get to each their own
same.. why are we trying to avoid looking too feminine again? :/
i liked the first outfit with the shorts-
With some of these outfits I can’t find anything wrong. She looks fantastic.
I love and will continue to pair my Chanel ballet flats with everything. Yes including my short girly dresses. So cute and girly. Jeans and slacks too!!!! ❤🥰
Yeah honestly all the outfits were super cute! even the donts
Audrey Hepburn definitely rocked ballet flats, one of her favorite shoes, with both an androgenous look and a dress! These looks are really pretty tho 🔥
I totally agree. One can wear anything with anything but your suggestions make it way better!!!
I love ballet flats with dresses-not how you shown them of course-but ballet flats are difficult to pull off as shoes. Needs long legs and calves and narrow fit
I’ve been a subscriber for like a week and I can’t handle your impecable style. I can’t stop watching. ❤️
All your advice is priceless.Thank you💫
I think the do’s and don’ts look great 👍🏼
I love these do's and dont's❤
These are perfect for work I can whizz about the office all day and be on my feet feel so much better than wearing uncomfortable heels which I did for years and have the bunion to prove it 😅
Such a pretty dress!
Brilliant and helpful as always. I see your points and agree.👍

Obsessed with that dress!! 😍 please let us know where it’s from!
Where is the dress from its lovely right
I’m pretty sure I saw it on intermix!
Thanks! So simply and classy!! 👌 Love it 😍
lol meanwhile i always wear tights, dresses and ballet flats to work

You look amazing 🤩
The first fit was so good though
Would love your thoughts on what’s best to wear w/dresses. I’m sure you have that in another video. 👍🏽
And if you have to wear flats which are best wear with skirts & dresses that are Not sandals?
Great advice!😊
For you is "too girly" because your body typology is not feminine and you feel weird with that look. For me, as a hourglass and pure romantic type it's absolutely fine and adequate and looks amazing on me.
True suits my shape esp if you’re petite
I think she's feminine in a different way, I understand she prefers more to contrast than to match classically feminine pieces, but she imho looked great with the flats paired with the short and midi dresses as well.
I love all your sun glasses

You have a great eye. Very classy.
Ja! Me gustaron todos . Los No y los si ! ❤
I liked the skirt with the flats, but would lose the white jacket with the skirt.
@LydiaTomlinson #LydiaTomlinson How about for 5-footer ladies? Any tips, tricks, and hacks on how to dress and look smart?🙂 Thank you.
Go and watch every other UA-camr please. Most of them are short. Leave the little content tall girls have. Damn.
I loved the dress don’t, where is it from??
It looks to me similar to the dresses made by Pearl and Caviar.
Have you done a video about rain boots or other rainy day outfits? It's been rainy in Spain lately.
Is it true that the rain in Spain falls mainly in the plains?
I think all of these looks would have looked better with classic loafers rather than ballet flats..
Keep ‘em coming!!❤
Wear what you want. Be happy.
Could you please share the link of the dress, it is beautiful, thank you 🙏🏻
I would love to see what is recommended in place of the flats with the don’t dos.
Can you do a video on wearing suits? I would love some comfortable and chic ideas that are court appropriate.
Thank you for sharing! Could you please style palazzo pants with a sweater? :3 how would you do it?
Very Feminine style is timeless.
So good
So flats only look ok with pants? Ok.
My only comment so where is the fun? Fashion should be fun! And where is the colour! You look tres chic but a bit more soul and a bit less black would do you good. 🙊
You saw twee like it’s a bad thing, That’s what I’m going for!!
so what if it looks girly or feminine??
Could you list down where we can find the outfits you had worn in the video? Thanks!!

so we don't hate ballet flats anymore now ?
❤❤❤❤interesting
cool der style❤
What do you like to wear more flat shoes or moccasins
The ballet flats looked good with the skirt and dress. I love a ballet flat with a linen black shift dress. Agree that Ballet flats don't look as good with a patterned skirt unless they're all one colour
Can you recommend any videos for petite women?
Lydia please tell us where black and white cardian from I can't see it on LTK? Xx
I LOVE your channel, but want to know where you get your pieces!
Where are your flats from?I really like them
I think they’re the channel flats, am not sure.

love you cardigan!! where is it from?
In the 90s we wore flats with long skirts
Cool, pardon my curiousity as this sounds interesting, you mean like these ones but with flats may be the case?

Can you pls share where your jeans are from? Love the ankle length and not too baggy legs. ❤ Thanks.
Sooooo true!!!!!
Which brand is ur white shirt ?
Nice with white Shirt
Where is this cardi from? It looks super cute
Do you also wear moccasins
Where are those flats from? So cute
Lydia, these are subtleties.
What flats would you suggest with dresses?
Тогда надо было показать , какую Обувь одевать к платью , шортам....
👍 agreed
If I like to wear dress but don’t like to show the toes which shoes should I wear?
I agree, flats, slingbacks, round toe wedges or platform, all perfectly fine with dresses if your don't like open toe sandals.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I really don’t like the way the overly long pants hit the flats, it pools in a way that makes proportions strange. but that’s all very subjective
How can thry get 5-6k for electricity bill? That's insane. They barely have any electronics
hi😁 I just ordered some.., can these be worn all year?
So basically anything long like jeans and trousers
Where is the black cardigan ? 🥺
Love dresses with ballet flats - so feminine

if so people can go for models with a bit of heel or arch support or insoles, maybe?
