I was working with Sienna Miller and she was telling me all about her role in 'The Girl' playing Tippi Hedren. I've always loved the film and Tippis look so I thought it would be fun! I posted a picture on facebook last month to test the water and lots of people said "yes do it!" ... so here it is X

I am also so pleased to learn form this that the make-up artist for "The Birds" campaigned successfully for the craft to be officailly recognised by the film industry. Tippi Hedren is simply luminous in the film, and the reconstruction of her facial image witht this graceful professional model is breathtaking and eerie.

The 60's is a big trend this spring in terms of fashion so if you feel like having fun with your make-up, try it one day. If you dont like it you can always wash it off, thats the beauty of make-up X

Wow! I have seen The Birds a few times, and recently on the big screen: very well observed, Lisa! (except that in my memory the blue eyeshadow shows even less?). I was sitting quite close to the screen and I was overly paying attention to Tippi's makeup (including her nail varnish that does eventually show it wasn't angry bird-proof) and her somewhat exquisite beauty and demeanour.
These are (obviously) my favorite videos of yours. I applaud you for not only being a master of your craft but also knowing the HISTORY of it, which is so important to understand these vintage looks. We're not worthy.

I love this look, my mom had done one very similar for a dance performance once and i can remember thinking that she just looked flawless, exactly like this, i'm sure she did it on purpose as she loves this movie. I'm going to rewatch The Birds to see the blue shadow. I'm pretty obsessed with the idea of having "a flash of colour" that can only be seen when the eyes are closed or looking down because I'm not one to use color on the lid but I would like to if it was very subtle
They're washable. I do it all the time. Use baby shampoo and wash it a few times by hand under running water until the water runs clear, then roll it up in a towel and squeeze out all the excess water. Smooth it flat, applicator side up, and let it air dry the rest of the way for at least a few days.
My grandma was really good friends with her and Hitchcock said that if she didn't sleep with him that he would ruin her acting career... which he did. What a creep.

I got the Lorac Mint edition palette from ULTA for my birthday last week and was trying to figure out a way to use it when I saw this tutorial. While the blue color isn't the same it is still a perfect palette for this look.

The birds was on swedish tv the other day and that made me think of this, it really is spot on and she looks very much like tippi!

Tippy went through a lot during and off the film. he had real birds peck at her. Overall the makeup and style was beautiful
