This Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus came in with water damage & the customer wanted to recover their data. They needed their pictures, videos, contacts & text off the phone. So I walk through the whole process, step by step, on how to approach a water damaged phone for Data Recovery

Hey bro love the video I learned a lot and you're a great instructor. I have a question though my old A7 and my friends S21 both have blackout screen due to broken screens but the phones are not water damaged. Only problem I see is the debugging USB option. When I connect via a charging dock station, how do I turn it on so I can use a dex software to access data?

Hi Jesse, you are a true contributor to people who are trying to understand more complex repairs, I have been watching all your videos.
May I ask a basic question, regarding voltage injection.
Do you set only the voltage on the DC power supply, in this case 4.2V and wait to see how much amperage the component will draw when you inject the voltage?
Or you set both voltage and amperage on the DC power supply which in this case should be 4.V and 2.5A and then inject?
for a main power rail, i set it to 4.2v/2.5A and inject
@@VCCBoardRepairs Thank you Jesse. I had the impression that only voltage is required to be set on the DC power supply and then Amps are drawn from the device accordingly.
So I guess setting 2.5A as well doesn't allow the device to draw more.
But maybe I'm wrong.

My Samsung A22 5G - SM-A22B6 - got water damage being outside when raining for 10 min in the night but only saw it was outside the next morning. Screen is black and does not show want to sharge. I opened up and cleaned and dried all the ports and connectors but still not charching. What should I do? Is there anyway I can recover data or fix it some how? Kind Regards - Johan (South Africa)

Nice work. Just got in my first liquid damage S10. Real mess, roasted components all over. Removed a short, jump started the battery and charged externally. plugged the minimum back, pushed power button, got a vibrate, Samsung on screen, then screen faded to black. going to take one more look tonight. not hopeful.. Thanks
Forgot to mention, the usbc is damaged, not shorting, but definitely will not let me connect.

What is it about water cause MLCC caps to short?
The impurities in the water react to electricity causing corrosion and damage to the capacitors

If it's for data, I wouldn't recommend it. Often times, the phone is very unreliable and may not survive by the time you receive it

@VCCBoardRepairs no kidding thats good to know. I've been avoiding using my p3208 on android boards because the lowest it will output on the boot lines is 4.2 and I was worried that would be bad for them.
