The fact that Neofid is behind the MD port gives me high hopes for this title and is making me consider supporting a Kickstarter campaign for the first time ever. I spent countless hours with Astebros since it came out, now I'm in the process of giving more play time to DoA. If this new title is as good as the previous two, then it's an insta-buy.
The main gameplay elements already look very well fleshed out and with the few levels on show I'm assuming development must be a fair chunk in. The art looks fantastic. Definitely going to be trying to secure a copy of this.
Instantly loved the look of it! Has that early 90s arcade quality graphics and pixel art that even reminds of some Capcom titles. Also interesting is that Neofid is "doing the Mega Drive port" which reminds of the good ol' days when some gaming company would specifically support some game platforms by doing exclusive titles or even ports from other systems. Good vibes all around!
The fact that the MD version comes out first instead of the Amiga 'original' has to do with the engine used in the Amiga version (Engine 9000). The programmer, Alex Brown, will finish 'Metro Siege' on Amiga first using the engine before porting DaemonClaw to it. Fun thing is that all the versions (Amiga, MD, NeoGeo) will have some unique things added to them that plays into the strength of each system (alongside having an unique playable character for each).
Looks very impressive. The backgrounds are a particular standout, but like you say, it would be nice to see some variation with some hills and what not. I really do love that shoryuken attack!
This game looks like AAA title, like paprium. It looks amazing, finally some serious clout all on screen, reminds me of actraiser or capcom early games, the budget is all on screen, super super impressed
Sorry for the very late reply. Each version of DaemonClaw (Megadrive, Modern, and Neo Geo) will have customized tweaks to animations, colors, details, but more importantly, each version will have a completely unique second selectable character to play as. For the Megadrive version it will be Gareth from Demon's of Asteborg!

I’m excited to see new games like this, mixing the “Garou-Mark of the Wolves” special attack into a side-scrolling Conan-like platformer.. instead of golden axe, I think the game play is more like shadow dancer where the enemies are less mobile and you gotta time when you approach them to go for the kill.

Our goal is to avoid exactly that at all costs. DaemonClaw is meant to be a non stop fact action combat arcade game that's fun and exciting for the entire play-through. To help ensure this we're making sure each level offers very different looking and behaving enemies and environments, and that the magical attacks you get for each level are also very different from each other. @@bitbeamcannon2468It's strange to see a 16-bit ROM with 48 megabytes being so repetitive, even though Sengoku 3 was released by Playmore, when many creative minds had already left with the end of SNK. And since Noise Factory did most of the development, the game's dynamism was certainly compromised even more, something that I often judge negatively, as contractors hardly have a great sense of commitment to the final product, as was the case in SNK's heyday.

This was the standard for all classic arcade and console games, to not only save on precious memory and development time, but to also make sure the character flipping around didn't change the readability, attack range, etc of their actions. Corey at BitBeamCannon here. I'm the pixel artist of most of DaemonClaw's art. The version above does mimic and adhere to MegaDrive color bit-depth and graphical limitations. So the MegaDrive version will look very similar! Neofid is already doing a fantastic job replicating the look and gameplay.
it looks great but hopefully there is also some tricky platforming sections and faster movement, dashing, or double tap running because it look a bit too slow for my liking
Daemonclaw is purely an arcade action game, based on combat and evasion and not on platforming. It's also not a Metroidvania type game. Pure combat action, with the goal of high replay value through non-stop fun and a combination of different modes and characters to play.
What impresses me is the colorful graphics MG I never saw any after market game have too many colors in one screen, It forces me to buy and play this game
All the art in the game is original pixel art from scratch, we did not take, borrow, or otherwise paint over any other existing art from anyone else. I'm assuming you're referring to the similarities between the playable character in Demon's Crest and the red gargoyle enemies in the cave level of DaemonClaw. They are visually similar in broad terms, but totally different pixel art and we did not have Demon's Crest in our mind or on our screens when creating these enemies.
It's a JVC tv LT32C35. Pretty good for everything up to PS3. Tons of ports, 4 HDMI, 2 SCART, composite component, VGA, Optical audio, audio jack, RF, and Comms port. And cheap

I just put the pieces together lol hahaha Love Antstream have used for years on pc. What happened to system 3 games? Any chance of c64/amiga versions of some of the arcade games like midnight resistance, maybe c64 versions of paperboy,gianna sisters etc Or classic ocean gems like platoon,untouchables, rambo 2 etc Man there is so many c64 games I'd love to see added or how about shadow of the beast 2 on amiga. Gorgeous art and effects. The mechanics looks pretty fun and I don't think I've seen anything quite like it. Can't wait to check it out.

Ristar is probably one of the best for colour pallette management, Xeno Crisis was also great.

THIS is a Sega Genesis game I can get behind! It actually looks like a polished product and not some Hobbyist art piece.

Daemon is an alternate spelling of the word demon, and is pronounced the same as that word, not daymon. :)

It depends, for filming I have it wide-screen because it looks good in the video. When I play it I have the games in the correct aspect ratio.
