- These are my thoughts on Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous season 3. A full review with both spoilers and non-spoilers. Dinosaurs like the Scorpius Rex, Ouranosaurus and Monolophosaurus show up in the new Netflix show with a prequel story set before Fallen Kingdom, while also ending the old park. Blue, the T.rex and other dinos like the Brachiosaurus and Gallimimus all show up here and it's a big deal! Hope you all enjoy!

A really dark implication of Camp Cretaceous that no one is talking about is that the reason why Dimorphodons are absent from FK is because Darius and Ben blew up their nesting grounds

I do think so. That's very morbid if it's true. Ben dan Darius seem to forget that Dimorphodons are there when they're blowing the place up. Not to mention, I don't remember seeing anything flying when the first explosion occurred

The most insane part of this season is how there’s at least one death in every episode
I'm assuming the same makeup as the I rex with scorpion fish which is the one DNA we got confirmation from Wu during the show

I thought the Scorpius Rex was terrifying. The roar and the way it moved were very otherworldly.
The way it roared and standing on 2 feet with its hands pointed backwards really looked like a human

The reference to John Hammond's book death, as well as the idea that urban legend sprang up around what happened to Hammond, made me lose my shit! I loved that!!

I know they had the tease for a potential fourth season, but man, them happily sailing off, all I could think was “Uh, kids? There’s a Mosasaurus swimming around probably not too far away right now.”
I thought the exact same thing, I was just waiting for it to wreck their boat
I was hoping we'd get that deleted scene with a Mosasoras jumping over the boat.
I hope we get to see a lot of Mosasaurus in season 4 if we have it. She's rather underused imo (even Ben said that in S2) and for good reason since she was confined in her lagoon at the time and the story except S1 never really happens around there. But since they're now at the ocean, the Mosa escapes, and nobody is aware of that yet...

I really wonder if that mosasaur is even adapted well enough to the "todays" oceans. i think she could definitely catch up to their boat, assuming they're trying to save gas but beyond that is she fast enough to catch modern whales and dolphins, and the temperature of the water might effect her as well! i hope this gets mentioned at least in the next movie.
Her going after slow boats or even a protection/ rescue type mission would be interesting plot point to chase
I was shocked when they had the intro of Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom was in it. Needless to say, I enjoyed it a lot.

I loved the scene where Brooklyn talks to Dr. Wu about what he is really contributing to society, and the look on his face because of it. I am curious if they will show him getting second thoughts of what he is doing in the future?
Yeah, I loved that exchange and it might actually be my favorite scene in the entire show so far.
I mean those doubts won’t last long will they, he’s back on his BS in Fallen Kingdom and I am pretty sure he’ll get deservedly eaten in Dominion.

@@artikagunathasan4040 There would be enough. All it takes is 1 crucial action/decision to make up for a multitude of bad. It could even be sacrificial. Could you imagine if we get the kids in Dominion and Wu sacrifices himself to save Brooklyn or someone with a similar name who reminds him of their past conversation? That would be dope. Plus a redemption act doesn’t necessarily mean he gets off Scott free. He could get eaten right after 😅😅. Imagine does good act, thinks he’s safe, everyone is relieved and womped he’s gone. 😂🤣😂
The Scorpios rex standing upright like a human freaked me out, it also reminded me of some of the human-dino hybrid concepts you showed in the video. I think the show did a great job turning E750 into a "monster", especially when it comes to how it climbs around.
Yes. Its limb proportions were perfectly creepy. Long and gangly, very much like a xenomorph from Alien. The body pose when it stood bipedally was unsettling.

Season 3 was great, I like how it's tie in to Fallen Kingdom and the Scorpius Rex was insane, and I like how Yaz mentions John Hammond's death in Jurassic Park novel by Michael Crichton, This was by far the best and the darkest season. That is until they make Season 4 and who knows what will happen next.
I mean.. the last scene did make a huge turn like the jp2 movie. I think the gang didn't make it to be honest. It could be a way the creators would not want fans to ask if they would be there in jw3. And a mystery on who that dinosaur is.. my guess is either the dilo or it could be just a compy

I was so waiting for the kids to stumble in the freezer and see a frozen undecomposed velociraptor from Jurassic park. That would've sealed the call back to the original film.

I gotta say when Ben and Darius got cornered by E750 I was like “ALRIGHT GUYS COME ON RUN” and then I see a second E750 come out from behind the tree and I’m like “WHAAAAAAAAAAT?!?!?!?!” That was probably the biggest plot twist ever
I kept looking back on forth on the two dinos "Did they (mistakenly) use the same model on another dino? wtf" glad I was proven wrong, it was a plot twist all along

tbh i already knew there were two bc it’s literally not physically possible for a scorpius rex to get from brooklyn to darius and ben literally on two opposite sides of the island in seconds minutes maybe but not seconds

I had been wondering maybe 2-3 episodes before the reveal that there might be a second one. But kept shaking the thought out of my head because Dr. Wu would only talk about it in a singular context, not a plural one.
I am so beyond happy with this season, they REALLY stepped up their game with the how things get played out and the character development and their personalities.
I mostly like how Kenji was literally growing a beard showing how long they have been on there which is 6 month
I noticed Darius's hair was bigger too. Crazy that they've been there for 6 months. You'd think a rescue team would have been sent already to at least LOOK for the kids.

I got some stuff to talk about. 1. Yaz was the one with the largest arc, 2. Sammy turned into a LEGO person when she was poisoned, 3. Scorpius Rex has a frog head

I really liked kenjis growth in this season. Felt like he was becoming more of a leader this season and now he is clashing with darius over his leadership skills. Very curious on that dynamic for next season

@@thedukeofchutney468 No he wasn't. If you noticed, the team's plan worked. It was that foolproof in spite of Kenji deciding to go rogue. To be a good leader, you also have to listen to the people around you. Kenji doesn't listen. He also doesn't think. They have survived A LOT of stuff in the past 6 months together. So his not having faith and trust with people who he has had to cooperate with all this time is a major flaw.
it’s his character development this season. This entire season has dived deep into Kenji’s relationship with the whole group, where we get to see more of who he really is and how he develops as a character. In previous seasons he appears lazy and braggy, which is finally brought to an end in his elevator shaft when he destroys his dad’s most valuable possession to save his friends.
For the first time ever we see him step up to take charge and initiative, all to give Darius the opportunity to have one last moment with remembering his dad. Unfortunately his choice to search for Ben out of care causes this to go downhill, and then the entire group temporarily takes sides, with Yaz defending him the most. Even earlier in the episode she calls back to a season before when they were together and he was reluctant to make any progress with camp.
We witnessed him this entire season going from completely incapable to proving himself to rediscovering himself and to caring more about the overall safety and happiness of the group in the final episode. His last line to Darius really stood out, and in many ways he is right. I really hope the next season, assuming we get one, continues from where he left off and we get to witness more growth from his character. We still have an incomplete (albeit better now) view of his relationship with his family, and clearly he has more to offer.
@@myleswolfe5139 They accounted for the Hawkes thing. A stampede of Ankylosaurus. Kind of hard to hold onto someone when dinosaurs with club tails are willing to stomp you into non-existence. So no, Kenji wasn't right. For him to have been right was the situation to play out to his fears. And it never did. It was typical him panicking without thinking which often creates a bad situation. The kids don't know it but it WAS Kenji's fault that the Scorpios rex became unfrozen - a result of him frantically pushing the same button over and over which shutdown the system.
The only issue in this plan was the laptop being wiped in time. However, the kids could have carried the laptop to the location as it was doing that and hid while they waited (don't know why they didn't). Not to mention - Yaz IS an athlete so it is not like she could haven't run the laptop there and gotten there in time.
You are giving Kenji way more credit than he deserves this season. His only usefulness for three seasons straight is because he knows where certain things are on the island. He has not improved at a sufficient rate for anyone to say he has had character development - dude literally risked his life for his dad's sculpture. He tossed quarters at compies when he was told not to and they had to chase after the dinosaurs for the compass as a result. And that's just two examples of things he did this season. Make no mistake, I hate all of these kids. I watch this show like people watch reality shows just to see the train wreck that is about to happen. So I am only crapping on Kenji just to correct this idea that he was correct at all about a situation in which it still played out as Darius intended.
Edit: Also, Kenji's statement was uncalled for. They took risks with each others' lives ALL THE TIME. Ben with his selfishness after they were reunited. Sammy with taking Brooklynn's phone and lying about it. Although, my biggest gripe with Sammy was when she wanted to free the carnivorous dinosaur locked in a cage in season 2. Darius putting his love for dinosaurs above the safety and responsibility towards his friends. Yaz pushing herself beyond her limit which meant the others had to do more heavy lifiting that she couldn't do when she sprained her ankle. Kenji's laziness and lack of awareness - seriously, people with guns show up and your response after Tiff and Mitch is to think these people are helpful? And do not let me get started with Brooklynn.
I caught two, potentially three novel references:
1. The online conspiracy theory on Hammond’s death which intentionally mirrors his death in the first book
2. A copy of what appears to be Jurassic Park appears on a desk in Kenji’s penthouse
3. While I’m uncertain, it seems like the ending to the final episode might lead to an homage with compies breaking onto the mainland of Costa Rica as in the first novel...assuming that’s what’s on board and they don’t end up drifting back to the 5 Deaths
But seriously, what an awesome season! The scorpius, I know many people hate the design but I think it’s brilliant with the horror aspect they managed to convey! It’s human-like traits made it absolutely terrifying, and I definitely took it as a nod to the unfinished original JW script.
In connecting to the first movie, the scenes in the visitor center were absolutely well-done and it was great seeing the place actually be of use to the group. While the first episode there was enjoyable, the return to the kitchen really made the episode one-of-a-kind in my opinion. Unlike Maisie’s slightly cringy escape callback through the elevator in Fallen Kingdom, CC Season 3 managed to do the reference right while making it something completely new and refreshing at the same time. Definite props to the story team on this, it makes up for the t-rex skull still being intact after the Indominus crushed it (minor nitpick lol).
Another thing I was surprised to see (and I’m blown away no one is talking about this...) was how far they took Sammy’s character in regards to being so close to death. Even the conversation between Kenji and Brooklyn about her potentially dying was both unexpected but very realistic at the same time. I thought they carried this part out really well and was just overall surprised they would even write such a harrowing scene in.
With characters, I believe they highlighted each individual’s personality really well this season. While Darius and Ben did have a really solid conclusion to their friendship post-pteranodon fight, Kenji’s development stood out the most to me. Now the Fallen Kingdom connection, holy cow where do you even start...it was brilliant! I seriously couldn’t believe myself when I heard those lines and saw the rex heading their way-I replayed that scene at least 3 times to make sure I wasn’t dreaming! I loved every bit of that scene and it’s broader context with Wu involved had me intrigued beyond belief. We even might have gotten to see some Wu character development (albeit microscopically) through his conversations with Brooklyn, enough to where he discouraged the remaining mercenary from harming the group before leaving.
Theories from here are beyond plentiful, but just to name a few...
1. I have a strong feeling if the kids get off island with the flash drive, we will see the deleted scene from Fallen Kingdom where Wu was supposed to have his credentials revoked. It would be great if we can receive at least some positive consequences from the group’s actions, and this could be a good one.
2. Part of me wants to say we may get a novel callback with the kids bringing compies to Costa Rica, but in the event the mosasaurus/pteranodon/weather ends up turning them around, there’s a good chance we may get the answers we’ve been looking for with the fate of Isla Sorna (I’m not too sure how canon the JW sites are now that they are down)
3. We never really found out who that new drone belonged to this season, but it was definitely someone nearby and likely another belonging to Mantahcorp if it’s the same model from S1. Of course it could be Wu’s, but assuming it isn’t then someone else is aware of what Wu had been working on and that right there may be our tie into Dominion. We still need some more backstory though before concluding any.
4. With JWFK’s opening finished, there’s only two things left on Nublar to cover: the re-arrival of humans on the island to set up new fences and security (as seen by the DPG when they arrive back), and early signs of volcanic activity. Maybe we will witness some of this.
5. If this show goes on for long enough, or we even get a flashforward when the group is back in the States, even then there’s perfect room for story that Battle At Big Rock easily set up. It’s clear from this season that they will want to try and meet back up for a reunion of sorts after a while apart, and what better way to keep the name “Camp Cretaceous” by having them set up camp and become the short film’s incident from “up north” that is heard on radio. But this is going far far ahead.
Well with that I can beyond a doubt say this was my favorite season thus far! There were of course multiple detractions as well but they are barely noticeable in the grand scheme of things. You can tell the writers and animators are true fans to all of Jurassic Park lore with what they have been accomplishing here. Really hoping we get that fourth season out before Dominion hits, but the only way is if enough people share the show!
on #3, I don't think it could be Wu's.. it started following the strange creature (Scorpius) before it got destroyed, if it was Wu's, he wouldn't be as surprised when he reached his office realizing the Scorpius has already escaped. great takes on everything else, looking forward, I'd probably (still) be shocked if Dominion decided to surprise us with the CC kids live-counterparts.
You know... The idea of incident up north seen in this show could be very well a nice idea. Assuming they get back to the mainland
...what if they make Camp Cretaceous special short film? I think plenty of animated series do that sometimes as a special event or commemoration of some sort
Yeah i like ur ideas and Kenji's growth also stood out to me in the series. Other than end when Kenji and Darius relationship becomes slightly strained, in the casa de kenji epsiode he throws this expensive art piece that his dad likes in order to save Darius and Brooklyn when they were in the elevator shaft. Though its not as obvious, you can see he is becoming more selfless and less materialistic. Overall, season 3 really impressed me with the references and character arcs.
I love the confidence the creators had with this season. It really tells how they got really motivated by the reception of the previous two seasons.

@@finja7607 yes, I cant recall all of them, but that was the most obvious. Blue attacking the scorpious rex in the visitor center was a nod to the original movie ending when the raptors attack the t-rex. Also in the building of kenji's father when you see the shadow in the wall its also a nod to the raptors in the original movie when the kids see the shadow in the visitor center. when the limo gets bashed and ends up against the tree similar to the car where tim was where in the first movie. Even the gliders which I think was supposed to be in one of the first movies (I think JP3) ...those are the ones I remember at least

Yeah, that part was so alien to me, but for me, the most terrifying part about it was how it would hide unseen in the trees and look down on the kids; man, is that shit scary.

Congratulations, this show that I didn’t like with its first season just took a big place in my heart. I hope they’ll make a fourth season

The Scorpius Rex was genuinely terrifying. How it moved, the length of its limbs was... atypical, and that made it feel unique.
I really liked Kenji's character progression. He developed into a leader and realist. Objectively, their plan for the laptop was dumb, and Kenji is he one who put the group's safety above all when the rest were more interested in bleeding-heart idealism.
I really like that he didn't forgive Darius and that that conflict wasn't just immediately resolved. Kenji's right in questioning the priorities of everyone else.
But if it wasn't for Ben's calvary Kenji's plan would have blown up in his face and possibly gotten him and Brooklyn killed. Kenji can say he had the moral high ground for not trading lives, but his plan was less good than what the team had worked on.

Don't forget Dominion. Short term-wise, yes, Kenji's plan would have worked, likely even better if Ben hadn't interfered. But if Wu had gotten his hands on the laptop full-stop (because Kenji didn't have a plan to destroy it) Wu may have created more hybrids that would then escape onto the main land at the end of Fallen Kingdom. The kids are heading back to the main land, so they may well have met with the consequences directly. It's just pure dumb luck everything worked out well. We can't say if Darius' plan would have worked or that Kenji's would have succeeded without Ben's interference. Ultimately, it doesn't matter.
The thing is that Darius /Brooklyn and Kenji are BOTH right. There's merit to both arguments, that's what makes moral quandaries so difficult. What's important is that both characters felt real and that they aren't compromising their ideals to sate the story. The writing is so good! At least with the characters. Kenji has found the line he won't cross, and he's making Darius confront his own morals in a way that's going to make Darius a stronger leader. Darius isn't perfect and neither is Kenji, but if Darius kept going...
Well, we'd just seen the mercenary leader let his man drown because "he understood the risks" and "the mission must come first." Kenji was right at the start of the series. He's their heart, and Darius needs to listen to him too
I personally didn't enjoy that part where Kenji and Darius have that tension in the end. I feel like Darius prioritized the laptop over Brooklynn is because he thought thats what she would have wanted after saying, "...whatever it takes." right before giving Darius the laptop while hanging on that like drainage cover

i love how they incorporated Dr. Wu and how we kind of get some insight as to how he views his work and his creations. i really hope his conversations and interactions with Brooklyn carry over to dominion as hes got to be one of if not my favourite character from the Jurassic franchise

I love how season 3 also fixes the plot hole of how the mosasaurus survived without starving to death. While it was not clear when the opening to fallen kingdom took place, season 3 clarifies the events happened only 6 months after the fall of jurassic world. Makes much more sense.
Fallen Kingdom does not mention it explicitly, but there obviously has to be a considerable time period between the opening scene and the rest of the movie, otherwise the Indoraptor could not have been that well-grown.

I loved when they referenced Hammonds death from the book. It was genious and really well implemented as a "myth" and how they "read it." That detail was something that hardcore fans will know, but doesn't break immersion.

I'm gonna say this, in this season all of the references and jokes about the past films killed me. I liked this season and I will admit I cried at a few points. TBH I finished the season just now and I didn't wanna watch this until I finished.
Edit: But I will say I was in awe then Dr. Wu came to the island and the prequel to the film. I like the interactions with him and Brooklyn. When they are watching the bioluminescent Parasaurolophus. You can see what she says to him does get to him. As it should but I find it interesting as well. And one more thing, when the Scorpious Rex was climbing down that tree, I instantly thought of the Indoraptor.

Season 4 prediction: I think the kids are gonna end up in Sorna because of whatever stowed away in that boat, (which I think is the 2nd Scorpius since we only saw one dead one, and it'll probably be the reason Sornas ecosystem gets messed up, maybe gets killed by Spino?), Dominion is said to have Camp Cretaceous easter eggs but u can't have them since Nublar is gone, that is unless they go to Sorna, which the teaser images suggests they will, and the group is probably gonna split in two because of Kenji being angry at Darius for risking their friends life and costing them their way home twice for the same dinosaurs that are constantly trying to kill them, I guess we will find out when Season 4 comes out!
I suspect the Camp Cretaceous Easter egg will be Sammy copying Dr Wu's research on Manti Corps' flash drive, and they make a reference to the flash drive getting into Dowdson's hands or something like that.
It allows them to say Dr Wu's research got into the wrong. Hands, but if you don't know the backstory of how Dowdson got it, you aren't missing out.
i want them to land and reapear in a future series set between fallen kingdom and Dominion after is out, not need to invest in this time period any longer (shame no refrigerated Raptor would have been like the return of Maul in Clone Wars ... yeah i wanted her to be alive) also we got so much teasing about the future back home by Yaz and Sammy, the dino on board cold be a way to wipeout the events of the series so the movies don't have to deal with (very sadistic writing i almost like it ... brr), but i'm sure that the favorable reception will save it and will end up with something harmless like my bet on the baby brachiosaurus ... because hell yeah a complite flip to the one left to die in Fallen Kingdom

This show helps fill in a lot of gaps. Extinct species like the Ceratosaurus? Scorpius Rex killed them. Rexy on the hunt? She lives nearby and is defending her territory. Heck, maybe even Blue's lack of reaction to Owen throwing the treat at her could be explained by Kenji throwing the quarter at her!

When Yaz was talking about how Hammond (in Crichton’s original novel) died... the biggest smile ever came to my face (😊). It goes to show you the showrunners for this are genuine fans who aren’t afraid to dig deep into the franchise’s roots.

This season is where the show has greatly improved compared to the previous seasons. Honestly, it's one of the best entries of the Jurassic franchise I've ever seen. The amount of lore and character development is one of the best things happened for the show. And there's a lot of references that long time fans would enjoy.

I've enjoyed all the seasons so far, but I do have some gripes with the writing.
*spoilers*
When they saved Blue, I knew right away that that was shoehorned into the story so she could save them later on (and because she has to be alive in Fallen Kingdom of course). It made no sense to save a vicious predator that had just tried to kill them while not managing to get any distance between themselves and Blue before letting her loose. If their problem with it was guilt over letting her be eaten alive by the compies (despite raptors being infamous for doing that to their prey) they could have tranquilized her, so she'd feel no pain.
The whole concept of a handful of kids not leaving the island when they finally have the chance after 6 months of not seeing their loved ones in order to kill not one, but TWO, of the most vicious dinos ever to save other dinos because "life is precious" went a bit overboard imo. The same goes for the laptop stealing shenanigans. There's bravery, and then there's insanity.
When they did manage to kill the E750s by destroying the building I didn't understand how knocking over the scaffolding did the trick. It's implied it hit a support structure like a vital column, but it just got knocked into a random spot in the building. I wish they'd made it a bit clearer what part of the visitors center was weakened. Also the pacing was way off. They kill them both off at once in less than half an episode after deciding to hunt them down with no plan whatsoever. They just get chased into into the visitors center by one of them and the other follows and they start tearing the buidling down while fighting and they take advantage of that with the scaffolding. I was hoping for a plan to trap them involving fire in a similar fashion to how they distracted the E750 to get the antidote.
This is just my opinion, so I may have missed stuff (if I'm wrong please let me know). As I said before, I really love to see new JP content, and this is by no means hate. I just wish they could learn from their writing mistakes from the past few years i.e. occasional weird logic and trying to convince us that dinos would ever be viable in a war.
Agreed. The dinos as weapons is dumb. It's always been dumb and personally that whole subplot ruins Jurassic World too.
When not wearing plot armor or fighting incompetent mercinaries, a dino is quickly dispatched by a machine gun. They can't understand directives or objectives and are unpredictable. There's a reason we don't use wolves or bears in combat. We use dogs a bit and mainly for sniffing.
Regarding the insane lengths characters like Darius go to help the dinosaurs, I was not bothered as much, since the narrative seems to treat those as intentional character flaws and address it near the end. I think the writers are using that to set up additional arcs, when Kenji finally calls Darius out on gambling with their friends’ lives and bluntly states that he has not forgiven him for it.
Given the way Darius and some of the other characters were set up, plus how some immature and/or misguided people act in real life, I could believe that they care about the dinosaurs to such a fault. And that part with the laptop also has them worrying for other people, whose lives could be endangered by the creation of more hybrids. So I felt their concerns were more sympathetic/justified there, even though their actions still unwisely go against the wisdom of “secure your own mask first and then assist the person next to you” or “don’t be a hero (if a situation does not involve you and is beyond what you can reasonably handle)”. But like I said, Kenji seems to agree by the end.
Finally, regarding the subplot of militarized hybrid dinosaurs in the world of JP/JW, I actually have no problem with the concept itself, even if I do take issue with how it was presented/executed. *If you want to read on, much further down below, these are the ways I think the movies could have tried to establish that concept in a more believable way...*
I think they could have made militarized hybrids like the Indoraptor work better, by presenting their intended purpose more as the modern war dogs’ and the ancient war elephants’ combined roles, rather than as some viscous monster to directly attack modern soldiers with (like some superhuman B.O.W. from the Resident Evil series).
The military still uses dogs today, as scouts and guards to navigate inhospitable terrain, detect certain targets, and provide another layer of protection. The JW movies have established that certain hybrids, namely the Indominus Rex and Scorpius Rex, can be engineered to possess additional senses such as detecting heat like a pit viper. The Indominus Rex was also shown being able to camouflage its skin and hide its own heat signature. The JW movies could have put more emphasis on how those added senses/abilities would help make a useful scouting tool (on top of what certain dinosaurs naturally posses to begin with), rather than trying make us believe they would be actual weapons (like that infamous moment, where Eli Mills put a laser pointer and acoustic speaker on a firearm for the Indoraptor).
During Antiquity and the Middle Ages, war elephants were often used on battlefields and Mills even references them. However, he seems to miss the point, that elephants were mostly for psychological warfare and otherwise impractical weapons, even back then. They were so massive, intimidating, and bizarre-looking, that enemies unfamiliar with them would often panic and break formation, which made it easier for conventional soldiers to sweep in and wipe them out. That was generally more potent than the damage, which elephants directly inflicted. In that sense, I would be more willing to accept it, if Eli Mills presented the Indoraptor more as something armies would sent into jungles to cause disarray among enemies, by their mere presence, rather than to do much actual combat. It would make more sense why Dr. Wu was instructed to make such an otherworldly beast that obviously favors “rule of scary” over practicality, if the main purpose was more psychological instead of practical.
To the film’s credit, the movies’ raptors are at least shown to be pack-oriented, able to outmaneuver people in certain environments, extremely intelligent compared to other service animals (albeit in a wildly unrealistic way), and able to be genetically influenced for more stable temperaments (as shown with Blue), which somewhat mirrors domestication. So I felt those aspects were relatively okay.

I just finished watched season 3 of Camp Cretaceous and it was one hell of a roller coaster of emotions. I love how they paid homage to the original Jurassic Park novel and how they showed what was happening at the beginning of Fallen Kingdom with the mercenaries. That's quite a way of tying up some loose ends.

I also fricken loved the reference about John H’s death in the novel, I practically squealed when I watched it with my dad and he was surprised to hear the old man got eaten by compies in the book lol.

The attention to detail in this season was really phenomenal: I loved the subtle changes to the models on the campers that made it visible how much time had passed. Kenji starting to grow a beard, more black being visible in Brooklyn’s hair as it grows out, and even early on it seemed like they’d redone the textures on Ben’s skin to make it look more bumpy like he’d spent too much time in the sun.
The animators putting in that extra effort really solidifies the tone of this show as being heavier and more serious than Season 1, since it shows time having consequences on the characters.

The fact that they said it was “too ugly to be on display” and then actually was instead of just being a super cool beautiful Dino was amazing. So many shows talk about monsters being ugly but they’re just cool. And the way it was misshapen made it sooo terrifying. That scene where it first attacks the camp during the storm is the first time I’ve been genuinely scared by a Dino in Jurassic Park. Even watching the first movie when I was young I was never scared, I just thought it was So Cool (because it is). The Scorpius is pure nightmare fuel and I love it.
Honestly the season was kind of perfect in my opinion definitely the best season so far 9/10
One of my favourite parts of the season besides the callback to the novel, was that they updated the character models to reflect time passing. Brooklyn's roots are showing, Kenji's facial hair's come in and Darius's hair's grown.
Similarly ... one major nitpick was Dr Wu showing up to the island in his lab coat and umbrella. I don't know, put on some appropriate gear, doc (I know they made reference to being 'prepared'... but still).
These timelines are so confusing because the kids were stuck on Isla Nublar for six months but Fallen Kingdom takes place three years after the events of Jurassic World.

I have always though that the opening on FK was way before the rest of the movie. I just figured it out after seeing the real presentation of the movie, the news anchor summarizing the last events, the volcano activity, the situation of the existing dinos in the island and the pro-dinos movements and manifestations all over the world. Those are so many things to happen for a short period of time...dunno...just perceived it like that...

Good, Kenji is the weak link In the team. Ben is a survivor, Brooklyn is good with tech, Darius knows about dinosaurs, Sammy knows animals, Yaz is athletic, and Kenji is rich. Before piloting the boat, Kenji didn't really have anything positive to add to the gang.

@@rajlol16 his plan wasn’t heavily flawed. It was actually throughly thought out. And it wasn’t his choice to have to make the plan. Brooklyn made that decision for him. Darius has been the GOAT even when riddled with self doubt.
@@rajlol16 I think Darius prioritized the laptop over Brooklynn because he thought thats what Brooklynn would have wanted. I remember Brooklynn telling Darius, "...whatever it takes." right before giving him the laptop while hanging onto that like drainage cover.
I love how S3 referenced the original ending for JP1 where rexy was gonna try pulling down Hammonds helicopter at the end i loved it
I wonder for season 4 if they’ll go back to Nublar or ,the option I hope for the most, they go to Sorna. Because I don’t think they’ll make it to Costa Rica and I don’t think going back to Nublar would be the right move after they just left.
The most surprising thing about season 3 for me was that it genuinely made me tear up a couple of times, which I never expected it to do. Another small detail I like is how the passage of time is shown in the kids' appearances. Kenji growing a beard, everyone's hair growing out, Brooklynn's natural hair colour showing at the roots, and Sammy looks like she's lost weight since season 1 and even 2.
Kenji is the only one with sense in the show. He doesn’t care for what happens to Dino’s, and he cares more about the humans than the Dinos (throwin some shade on Darius.) like who cares what happens to the dinos All I care about is my friends lives and my life. Which is what kenji is like.
Yeah i was not a fan of Darius a whole lot in this season. Blaming Kenji in episode 5 for something which wasn't his fault and in the finale risking Brooklyn's life and then even trying to act like Kenji was in the wrong for doing the deal. Glad Kenji bit back with that line hopefully it helps Darius change his tune on being so hardcore on saving the dinos. Also man Ben is an annoying prat this season
@@jedininja3016 Ben didn’t bother me 2 much in this season, but he was a little annoying tho with bumpy he did come in clutch lots of times so it makes it ok for me. But Darius throughout the entire show is annoying with his dinosaurs have rights crap. He’s like “we’re trespassing on their land” but in reality they are trespassing on ours, as they aren’t biologically born, and were made far after humans arrived. They ain’t even supposed to be everywhere on the island. And with him freeing blue from the car. Boy that got on my nerves. Not tryna be messed up and stuff but I was really hoping blue would get free and eat him since that’s what she should’ve done. Like he never learns his lesson man. I doubt the writers will change his character like that but one can only hope.
@@coolguyishere8851 also his actions in the finale he knows Wu doesnt need the laptop completely for his research. He can still do it without the laptop it just sets him back a couple of years so risking Brookylns life was a dick move and the fact he acts like Kenji was in the wrong was annoying.

I'll never understand why people complained that the second season was silly.
I remember only two parts of the whole 8 episode season being "silly"... Those being the Toro fight and the slomo explosion. But that's seriously all I remember. Everything else was about on par (maybe slightly less) with the first season.
I just find it a bit funny that adults are complaining that a young teen show has some lighthearted and non-serious elements, because apparently all things Jurassic Park related have to be serious and intense, right?

Season 3 was great and I think why we haven't grown tired of "people running from dinosaurs in the jungle" is because of the characters and their development, especially in season 3! Seeing them intelligently survive and grow is so refreshing to the franchise. Plus, you can just tell that the creators are massive fans of the series. I thought this season would've been the perfect cap for the series. Definitely interested in where they go next, mainland? Sorna? I really kind of hoping the show was going to end with the campers, a few years in the future meeting up finally again in person at a Dinosaur Protection Group meeting or something.
I hope that there’s a season 4 that involves the Five Deaths.
The scorpios reminds me of those human dino hybrids from the early concepts of a jurassic park film. Just the shape of its body when it stands. They shape of its head. The way it uses its arms. its unsettlingly human.
