I was sitting in my rocker on Christmas Eve, I was newly divorced and had my one and only child sleeping in her room. I was rocking and I suddenly realized that I made it on my own and it felt great. I got a job and I liked it, and was able to take care of my daughter and myself and keep my home. I made it, I made it, and it was my ah ha moment. It inspired me to do anything and sometimes it turned out pretty and sometimes not but I tried. It's 45 years later and I still have that feeling of doing it only now it's crafting dress making and quilting and I love it. Remember we can do it and it feels great.
Christen you are a jewel!!❤. I love walking in my garden observing all that is growing and the beautiful flowers. I love walking in the forest and enjoying God’s handiwork. This inspires and rejuvenates me. God bless you Christen.
Any time that I can get to go to the beach is my inspiration. It seems to clear my head of all the cobwebs & junk that I may have been carrying around for however long it’s been. The sound of the water hitting the shore, the smell of the air! Maybe feeling a slight breeze, or the heat of the sun - all these things recharge my soul & my energy too. Just yesterday, I put my new beach sticker on my car window, & I am hoping to spend some relaxing time days recharging my battery this beach season! Thank You for the very inspirational conversation!!💜🏖️🥤🍔🍟
Christen, what a beautiful video!! Thank you for this inspiration I really needed it today. I thank God there are people like you in the world…..keep going!❤️
Don't do it often, but I LOVE looking at the stained glass windows in the cathedrals of Europe. I always stash a small pair of binoculars in my day pack for just this purpose. Lovely!
Seeing the face of my Granddaughter Lexi as she ran towards the bubble machine that was in full bubble force. The complete joy on her face was epic. Bubbles are magical!
My cratety is in memory of of me and my Mom who passed away in 2019 weeks would feed off each other a lot and quilting together. Those are the best memories ever made between me and my mom . I miss those days when we would make quilts together. Kristen I have never been so proud of the quilting that we done together. I love those memories of my mom and my Grandmother as well. My grandma who passed away in 1988 . We all three had the best memories together. Now I have no one else to share memories with but I am trying to teach my great niece how to make quilts. ❤ I love your videos
I lost my mama, teacher, and sewing buddy in 2019 as well. Miss her every day. I've nearly completed another quilt project using her stash. Sweet memories for sure.😊
@@juliatepe5760 for sure . I been using some of my moms as well her favorite favorite pecies of her fabric as well. I made me a quilt out of some of it . . Fixing to make another quilt out of some of mom’s fabric again but not for me but my 10 year old great niece
I am a 70 year old house bound wife, Mom and Grandma, One evening I was feeling sorry for myself, I would probably NOT live to see my great grandchildren. I had been working on quilting, made cloths for years, quilting is a whole different ball game! Learning as I go. In the middle of the night it came to me, I can make baby quilts now for those great grand babies! Makes my heart smile to know in a way my love and warmth will be around them even if my arms won't be! By the way, I wore out 4 cameras before digital came along and have wore out 2 of those. LOL keep doing what you do, you make me smile, love your videos
I would not have anything to live for If I could not read, learn, and try over, and over again. There are so many patterns, and crafts that I have never had a chance to try.
Because of my cancer journey God taught me that every day is a gift. I focus on that every day, and thank Him for one more day. Thank you, Kristen, for sharing your thoughts!
Thank you for these words. Greatest appreciated and needed. I have found inspiration in the flooring where ever i go. Might be a bathroom, shopping mall or friends living room. I then make a mockup of it and put it on my design wall.
Every morning sitting with my coffee and planner, looking out my windows dreaming of what this day will bring. Good or bad it's another day and that's a good thing . Thank you for all you do.
You definitely bring joy to the table, Christen! Thank you for that video. I am always inspired by nature and love watching the changes in the sky. I set my alarm so I don't miss the sunrise as the days get longer. I absolutely love that time of day and the way the sun shows through the trees in my backyard. Probably the biggest inspiration source for me is my Mom. She passed away in 2021, but lived with me the last six years of her life. I keep a picture of her and her quilting buddy in my sewing room. And I have a series of pictures I took of her showing my granddaughter how to hand quilt. And then there is one of her beautiful creations tucked in on my bed. She was 93 when she died and literally, until almost the day she died, she made something beautiful every single day.
What a lovely video Christen. In God’s beautiful world, there is so much beauty. Each seas9n brings it’s different beauty. I see beauty in my garden. I see beauty in my kitchen in the different foods I make. This weekend I made a pound cake whose recipe has been in our family over a hundred years. I think of my love ones who has made it for special occasions and see beauty of the thought that I am eating something that my dear Aunt made. I remember eating it at her house. God has blessed me so much in my 74 years. I am actually a new quilter so I make simple little throw quilts for my family, hoping that one day they can look at it and remember how much I loved them and remember the beautiful memories that we made.❤️✝️💐
You are so right about that, there really is beauty in every little thing. We just have to take time to notice it. I hope you have the most wonderful week.
My Precious Priscilla died June of last year....that, was life changing for me. She was a great person, friend and Christian. I see her in every quilt that I make. Thank you so very much for what you do!❤
I know the feeling. I lost one of my best friends in January of 2021. I can't believe she is gone and I miss her every day. I am so sorry for the loss of your friend.
@dawndecesare2177 Priscilla was my Daughter, our only child to be exact. My husband and I are both only children. Both of our parents are gone too. The Lord has been carrying us since June. If you are a praying lady please keep us in them. Happy quilting.
Drinking my coffee on the patio enjoying all my roses and flowers is my moment of peace. Love this video. Such an inspiration. I have quilts coming to you soon.
Looking out my window as I'm sewing is the best. I get so inspired just by watching what is happening outside; birds flying by, a stray cat running in the yard, the pine tree swaying in the breeze. I could go on and on there is so much to see. Sometimes my quilting gets lost for a moment when I look at the backyard. Thanks for sharing your inspirations with us. Have a wonderful day.
That was the most beautiful video I have seen in a long time. We are surrounded by beauty every day, and we get so caught up in daily living that we forget to embrace it. My moments are the times my grown daughters are joyful, my cup of coffee and Bible reading and when my lilac bushes blossom and I have the best smelling front yard in the neighborhood.
Beautiful video, thx for sharing this. I like to take a pause & watch the birds in the backyard birdbath, seeing Mr. Squirrel climbing up my crepe myrtle to scamper on the roof, listening to the rain today. Spending time at Zilker Park with the grandsons is a joy.🤩
You are an inspiration! Thank you for your encouraging words and such honesty about life. You are a delight to listen to and watch. You have a special sparkle! 💖

My inspiration comes from a trip to Daytona Beach with my two best friends for the AQS show. The first night was breezy and the moon was so beautiful. We left the sliders open in the hotel room and I slept like never before. One of my best friends passed away suddenly January 5,2021 and the other has moved out of state. Your video struck a nerve and I will probably watch it again when I need to get inspired. I think I lost my sewing mojo because of missing my two besties. TFS it was a great video!
I was sitting on our sailboat that we just purchased. Getting ready to sail it to from key west to myrtle beach. A new adventure fir just my husband and me. All along thinking. How in the world can I continue to quilting on this boat. Watching the waves and new scenery go by. Ivwas inspired and started dreaming if all the new inspiration it gave me. I am not a creative person by mo means. But there it was. So grateful for having Christen and this group that she has created.
I'm due to start making my first quilt. I have watched so many videos on youtube over the past few weeks and was feeling fairly confident, yet as the time is getting nearer to starting, I'm having silly doubts as to whether I'm capable. I know I am, as in my 77 years I have done many different crafts, many with sewing, whether by hand or machine. After watching and listening to this video, you have given me fresh thoughts, confidence, and the inspiration to go ahead and not worry myself any longer. Thankyou for the valuable and encouraging lesson you have given me tonight 💞
Love this--I bet we could swap camera rolls and not even realize it. LOL I find inspiration and joy in such silly things at times and while it might be annoying to others, I neither plan nor want to ever change it. I have my reasons, and it's not a bad way to get through some hard times. Even with that being said, I have some trials coming up in the near future, and for now I am taking extra care to notice even more of the 'little things'. The weather has been amazing, the spring blooms are gorgeous, the birds have been incredibly happy with the recent rain... we are all so amazingly blessed and many take things for granted. I hope everyone finds safety, good health, peace and love each day. Thank you for this wonderful video, Christen!
This video is beautiful, and if you were to check out the pictures on my phone, you would see that I do the same thing! Mushrooms, tiny little itty, bitty flowers, clouds, puddles, you know I take all the pictures! What sparks my creative self is seeing a painting, that I love and the need to make my own version of it. Thank you so much for this video, it made me feel good. (Great Mother's Day gift!)
