Hi!! I'm new to your channel and new to quilting ... but I am an old lady ... late to the game ... I think you're wonderful and enjoy your videos ... thanks for sharing your talents ...
Not sure how old you are, but I will be 68 this year. I began sewing 4 years ago, deciding to only hand sew. I have made two reversible queen sized photo memory quilts of irregular blocks to fit in with my theme. I took two years with the first and I’ve just this week completed the second one having taken 20 months. I also sewed and quilted two minkie blankets in between. I have learned so much from this channel. I have two more quilts to go. Also story photo quilts. Hopefully I will do it in a shorter time. We are never too old.

Having said that, in 2016 at 60 years of age I had a total knee replacement and my husband at 66 had a total hip replacement. Two years later we both did the Camino de Santiago and walked the 800 kilometres from France across Spain. We are never too old to enjoy the things we do.
Thank you for demonstrating the faux piper binding , I put it on my very 1st quilt that I started and finished to end myself. Iam so very happy with the finished
You are great. You teach very well and make it easier to learn. I also love that you show your mistakes. It makes me feel less useless and more normal. Thank you for the lessons.

My pressing technique is hot dry iron (old Black and Decker) spray water if needed. 😊 I love hand stitching my binding.to the back. I will be trying the second method with the twist of attaching the second on the front so I can still stitch on the back. Looks amazing. Thanks

Good morning, I think I like the second technique. It really seems really easy to do. I have two extra blocks that I will definitely practice on so I can actually do it on a larger quilt. You, as always, have a great way of explaining and teaching new techniques, espy for a beginner.
Know we love your personality and how you teach. Visual learning takes a little more time but is very helpful learning tool. Ignore the naysayers. I'm trying to decide which project I can try the faux flange binding on.. I'll find one!!
I might be trying the 2nd option, two separate pieces, next. That one seems a bit easier for me since I won't have to sew a very long stitch to get the two pieces together.
I pour Best Press from the gallon jug into a tiny 3 ounce spray bottle and use it ONLY on seams. I am trying to be frugal and use it only where it can do the most good.
I mix best press with water. It was an inadvertent error the first time because I had water in my spray bottle already. So I mix two thirds of a bottle of best press with one third water and it works fine.
I've even heard of some people mixing half and half with water. I haven't done it myself but I suppose it would depend what your project is - just flatter straight seams may be okay, but I'm not sure how diluted you would want to go with bias edges, for example.
Do you have a video on How to close the binding . I do it 2 ways but would love to see if there are other ways . Oh & I miter & stagger all my joins. Love the Faux piping binding ❤
I use one of those specialty 'spray bottles' with water however I do use flatter when water isn't appropriate. I do not starch. Also I highly recommend 'Soak' from the same company for your bras/lingerie. No need to rinse, gentle on delicate fabrics and the scents are heavenly.
Borders for the quilt? It is the same as putting on 1 border. You just keep adding fabric around your design. I do not have a video with mitered corners for borders yet though. Just squared off borders is what I usually do for my own quilts

I have often thought about this with other channels and then I remember 2 years ago just starting out and needed detailed instructions. Be happy that you don't need them anymore, and kindly resist the urge to complain to someone who is doing a great job doing what most of us cannot...TEACH.

I use a Singer iron and Best Press for seams. It's ok, it works well. I finally started that braid quilt. It is coming out really nice.
