- Welcome to: Classic Aviation! In this series I'll show you some footage from the past from my home base Rotterdam Airport, but also from Amsterdam Schiphol and others. I need to make it clear that footage you will see in this series is not taken by me! I've asked permission from the people to who the footage belong to use it for my series. Be aware that the video quality will not be very good, because offcourse this old footage was created with less modern equipment.
In today's video I'll take you back to 1991 again, a nice summers day at Brussels Zaventem International Airport! A typical plane spotting day there during that time was a whole lot different than today! In this video you'll see some classic Boeing narrowbodies & widebodies aswell as some Soviet / Russian metal bringing insane sounds to the airport!

Wow a blast from the past! Very interesting video 👌 I flew several times in a British Airways Boeing 737-200 and I have nice memories of those flights.

I would have been a 11 year old spotting at Manchester back then seeing those BA 737s flying to Brussels. Also looks a great mix of aircraft and difficult to name a favourite. Nice to see the TAP 727, Sabena A310 and TWA Tristar. Never to be seen again😢

Lots of these airlines no longer exists, including our beloved SABENA, we loved to hate then, but miss so much today. Many of these types no longer flying into Brussels Airport either. Only aviation enthusiasts like us miss the noise of these jets. The others, well, not so much. I believe that SABENA 747-200 was one with the longest flying time when it was retired.

My favorite will always be the 747, the Queen of The Sky. The -200 was the best looking, of course. Curiosity of the era: Ilyushin 62.

@@RudivanGoch Ja precies, want volgens mij vliegt er nog een 747-200 in Japan (weet ik niet zeker) en er vliegen nog 737-200's in Canada en Zuid-Amerika

@@aviation_netherlands 747-200 heb je zelfs in Europa nog regelmatig van GeoSky. Tristar is er 1 van actief wereldwijd in Californië.

I think UA used them in Europe as a feeder for their transatlantic flights.
