Basically all you've done is overly complicate a well known device that works very well into something that may work marginally and be a PITA to clean up.....

Are you still trying new things like this these days? I enjoy watching people trying to create new gold recovery devices so awesome job man hopefully it worked good.

  • @levity2893

guess it didnt work as i cant find a followup to this?

I don't see a field test and assume this build was a waist of time.

Not!.This is a great concept in fluid bed tech. I have made many "Odd" pieces of WTF is that mining equip. in the last 35 years and this will work when you figure out the water flow....I would extend the 1 1/2" "Exit" pvc about 6" and then enlarge it to a 2" 90 in which will help the "Flid" action a tad bit more

Roll a piece of expanded metal and put it to the inside of the carpet to hold it against the PVC pipe !

You should run it backwards and kill the carpet and magnets. Pour your process into the white end, stand the tube up at a sharp angle, with the flow exiting your present process end. The water will push-up only the non-heavy material, out the end, as more material enters that displaces it. All gold will end-up around the water-jet area. (You can also shorten the long end to match the other end. Water will not climb-up that high, as it all runs out the old process end.)

I hit subscribe right away bro!!! Your engineering concepts are great!! I really like the reduction at the end, as that right there is the magic!! Awesome. It’s my birthday today, I got all this written down and I’m building it tomorrow to try it out over the weekend!! This is really innovative, not over engineered, but I believe the right engineering!! I’ll follow up with you very soon!! Thank you so much for sharing!!

l did almost the exact same thing great minds think alike.after numerous modifications l am waiting to take it to the bush.l added a large traffic cone cut down to the feed so now use a larger shovel instead of a scoop.have my water feed at the top instead of bottom, increased sluice bed to 36", v matt entire lenght , using 4" pipe l want to try 8" but haven't seen any on jobsites.on discharge end reduceded it to 2" ,have a riser pipe of 6" ,then a p trap with rare earth magnets inside the trap as a final catch.found on testing I was losing to much out the end and the addition of the magnets has sure helped.have tested the unit on dirt hog paydirt and consistently recovered everything every time.l think it will prove itself for me as l cannot pack anymore and the whole thing only weighs 4 lbs.wish l had a camera and the knowledge to post the results. keep on thinking and experimenting as l feel some one with an education could make this a great new back pack tool.good luck to you.

What you want is our Recon sluice $95 - fluid dynamic system, (which is what you're lookin for) high rate of recovery fits in a backpack
