My 6 month old has been eating solids just like that and I have been a nervous wreck! He’s doing so well and he loves eating, I just didn’t know if he was too little to start, he has 3 older brothers and none of them were interested in foods that early. Your video made me feel a little better about it
Mine is 9months and still giving her purées 😞 but I’m thinking to try BLW now cause I heard that many babies that started with BLW turn to not be picky eater. Kinda worried to start because she doesn’t like big chunks and prefer blended foods. Wish me luck 🤞🏻
@@valvalentine473 Don't worry mama. Overtime they will get better! My son is now 22 months and he feeds himself. He has always been a picky eater, I don't think BLW would have helped much since we always offered finger foods since 6 months and he could care less about food. He was never a big feeder since birth with formula/breastmilk. So to save us a lot of headache, we still blend some of his food mainly veggies and put it in a food pouch. That has worked well for us. Good luck and you got this. Remember a fed baby is a happy baby.
He is so adorable... Baby boy pls dont choke and good you are doing just fine eating solids. I hope my 2-month old son will do the same, can grasp and eat food.
I definitely say start with purees until their pallet is used to it. Gradually move up. I think she should have disclaimer on the video. Some babies may choke. Just saying 😊
I have 5 kids and 3 of them started eating like that at 5 or 6 months. Not all babies can handle that. And its okay. So its okay if her baby can eat like that. He can handle it.
OMG my second baby is 6 months old right now and i want to start feeding him solids, idk why but im more nervous with him than my first 😅 but thank you for this little video, you gave me my confidence back with the gagging part! he has one bottom tooth popping out already so i think it might be time he starts to chew some foods with his gums
Ma’am I appreciate your videos they are thoughtful and helpful ^.^ Though at the end your bub was gagging on the egg, scary to watch. You should have stopped the camera and attended to him right away. Not telling you how to care for your child but, if you’re introducing him to solids you need to supervise closely and cut some of the foods in smaller chucks in order to minimise the risk of choking 😊
Smaller chunks can be less safe because they are the perfect size to block the airways, but bigger pieces can easily be spat out. More gagging but less choking, I think?
That's okay! All babies are different. Also, your baby might just not be interested in eating food yet which is completely okay. He or she will be very soon.
That is ok! Mine sits a few seconds on her own, but still supoorted! All babies are different and your baby will get there! We just started my 6 month old baby on solids. Her first pure: sweet potato, carrots, and apple. She didn't know what to think haha, but I think she ate some. She ate some, then she played with it. I let her make a mess, honestly. I was advised to make food fun time, especially when she is still learning. I don't want her to associate feeding in a negative way, or forcing spoon in her mouth. I sure definitely can't wait till she eats more though. Next one will be mashed avocado.
No I don't think, the baby in video looks 8 months+ to me. My baby is 6 months old too but the hands here looks so flexible and stiff. And I'm worried about choking. 7 or 8 month should be if enough to start with. There is no hurry. They will learn obviously when grow up.
@@chaitrabaik7788my baby has been sitting up since 5 months. Every baby is different. She’s 6 months now and can sit up by herself and stand with a little help. But no progress with rolling 😅
@@Martel_Arizona_Rosalina pureed food has lower risk to get choked on cause you dont have bigger chunks that could stop the air to get in lungs, thats why its pureed and its meant for babies. I dont want to shame anyone let them do what they think its best for their babies if their carefull, every parent just wants the best , im just saying for me it sounds "modern" to let your baby eat pieces of food on their own but until they have all teeth for me if they cant chew it like we do than its not necesarry. Just my opinion. But if this works for you and your baby ok
@@kristinakika it is absolutely fine to choose whatever method you think is best. All teeth are not needed for chewing. First, chewing teeth grow closer to the second year. It is advised by doctors for babies to start eating not puréed food at 8-9 months. This method is not necessarily new, there very no blenders in the past and in countryside mothers worked hard, so they did not had the time to mash everything.
I'm a bit confused if someone can help. What if, like the baby in this video, they takea big chunk in their mouth. Should I just wait and see what they do? What if they swallow it and choke
Babies have a very short gag reflex. You need to do research on how to cook and serve the foods so that they do not pose a choking hazard, as long as you follow the cutting and cooking rules then they will be safe for baby.
Gagging u will hear the noise, it will look similar to this little cute one in the video at the end. So they will be coughing, retching it back up. Choking it will be silent or wheezing, they will look scared ( my little one sometimes looks scared gagging ) , their skin will change colors.
Don't know why people are behind teaching everything earlier. Feeding soft food from mother hands is also part of motherhood and you won't get these moments after as they will obviously start eating on their own just like we did
@@chaitrabaik7788because puréed food is not essential part of feeding, it is completely fine but it can be done without it, and naturally food doesn’t come in this texture
@@Martel_Arizona_Rosalina : my baby is 11 month old. I didn't have to teach him weaning I still feed him from my hands. But he can now eat anything if I give fruits like banana , carrots , healthier snacks etc. So no need to hurry. It's natural behaviour of human to explore textures, use their hands to eat , learn to find different tastes as we grow up. It's my opinion.
@@chaitrabaik7788 and it is completely okay to do things like you do but it is not an essential part of motherhood. Also it is not necessarily rushing things, just a different way to do it. You still bond with baby while doing blw.
My first boy was mostly puree’s. He’s never liked texture and still doesn’t really being almost two. My little girl though (7mo) she is a eater and eats almost what we eat haha
If anyone cares, limit the amount of carrots and sweet potatoes you give your little one. They're incredibly high in heavy metals. Also avoid rice, juice, tap water and potatoes if you can.

Lol at the chicken bone. He handles it so well. I’m too chicken. Still giving my baby purée and he just turned 8 months
My is 9 months old and i still give him puree, only a bit of oranges to suck from my hand because he likes it, but mostly purees

My 5.5 month old is chomping on buttered sprouted wheat toast as we speak :) no choking
He is too cute😍
Where did you get the straw cup from? So cute, I love the color!!!!
He is so sweet
I think this is what I did with my son. I never bought or made baby food he ate what I ate adapted to baby safe.

How did it go?? I’m also very nervous..she’s interested whenever she sees us eating but it’s hard to get her to eat 😢
This baby looks older . I'm not tryna this at 6. Maybe at 9. For now let's enjoy puree
Baby led weaning starts at 6 months and jumps straight to solids 🤷🏻♀️ but whatever works for you

The baby was gagging, not choking, which is a natural, normal response to protect the baby, so she did not need to help.
She's just advising. And sometimes gagging leads to choking, I have a baby too around the babies age

How old is this baby?
You are wild ! I would be so scared of that chicken on the bone
Kids do need to be taught some things. Which is why I would hold off on the 🍗 till they’re older to comprehend spitting out a bone or cartilage.
He doesn't look 6 month baby
😢

Hi, in what age he started learning to eat?
My baby doesn’t want purées he wants food like we eat but I’m scared
