Another nice demo and interestingly what isn't mentioned in the majority of YT videos is using it with Single Coil or Humbuckers and different amps, Pedals are reactive and change with different setups and don't think that's ever been mentioned in most YT Videos. Thanks for a sensible review of a great pedal.
Plastic pedals might also be more tolerant of errant drops onto hard floors. Metal has very little give and will transmit the full force of an impact to the circuit board. Plus, there are many firearms made from plastic.
The UA-cam algorithm actually worked for once Awesome review mate it’s a crime you don’t have more subs but keep doing this and the audience is inevitable ! Subbed+1
Yes, I was quite surprised with this pedal. From the little bit of digging I've done, it does seem that the OD100 and OD300 are essentially the same pedal. Presumably, the 300 is an updated version but don't know how they actually differ. They are however both clones of the Boss OS-2.
This is a really good review, I've come back to it (I own one of these but have'nt used it much). In distortion mode, I don't think it sounds far off from the Boss DS-1 or Proco Rat territory. The OD sound is beautiful and warm, as you say. Great playing and licks too, I wish I could play half as well!
Thanks so much for the comment. I do have an DS-1 and have done a video on it. Sounded quite thin to me but apparently it is best used into a slightly driven amp. May have to re-visit that one.
@@edgarparada3946 This pedal is based on a Boss pedal of the same name (Overdrive Distortion). So it is meant to simulate that pedal. As for sounding similar to the DS-1 or SD-1, I'd say the DS-1 is a bit brighter. I did a review on that a few months ago but I was playing through a 1x12 cab. In this review I am playing through a 2x12 cab which will sound beefier and which might be why the DS-1 sounded quite bright. I'd say the Behringer OD300 (or the original Boss version) are more versatile as they have the option for lower gain. As for the SD-1 I've not tried that pedal yet but I would like to get one. I hope that helps a bit.
Remember that these Behringer pedals, although they sound great, are at the price-point they are because the physical components are the lowest quality Behringer can get away with. And that's fine. It's a $25 pedal. It gives you an idea of what the BOSS equivalent sounds like before you plunk down on a genuine BOSS pedal. I'm currently having an issue with an Ultra Chorus. Output B puts out 3/4 of the volume that Output A does when connected in stereo. It also started cutting out in both channels when I'd strum a chord. I got this one from Sweetwater and they have been great by sending me a fresh one at no charge so I can troubleshoot further and hopefully resolve the issue. If the one Sweetwater sends me does the same thing as the bad one I'll order the BOSS Super Chorus and be done with it. I know I'll feel better about spending the $100 on the BOSS know I used the $25 Behringer pedal as I believe it was intended. I.E. Make them as cheap as possible, eat the returns and refunds, and sell a shit ton of them. It's a genius business model. And if I'm not mistaken Uli (Behringer) recycles all of that plastic that comes in as returns. I get the feeling that they do get a lot of returns, but if you use them as a test run before buying a BOSS pedal, and you don't depend on them to gig with you'll be OK. These are not built for lead foot stomping by any means. That's my 2¢ for what it's worth. Keep on rockin'!!!
I recently picked this up for a keyboard pedal board I'm going to build and I'm including this pedal along with a few others pedals involving Chorus, Delay, Flanger, Phaser, Compressor, Echo and so on.

Revisiting my youth and bought two guitars and a Marshall 30 watter, this time around to actually learn and not just make loud noises!!! Subbed, just because you did a cracking job with this review. Speaking of the review, I'm going to order this Behringer because it didn't do too bad with humbuckers , my Squier Showmaster is HSS, and the Epi SG VE is HH. Cheap guitars nowadays are usually pretty good, especially if it's a Squier. But even if your guitar is cheap, I'm sure your playing is expensive (or will be one day). Keep going and thanks!
To be honest, I can't really remember. I haven't done a lesson video in a while. But I recently did a UA-cam Short on a soloing idea. Maybe have a look through my older videos. Was there anything in particular you were interested in?

I bought this used and the guy tried to rip me off . He didn't tell me his cable broke off in the unit....it's impossible to remove it by taking apart the pedal....I did fix it and I'm making a video showing how....just be aware it can happen
If I've understood your question correctly, just set the amp for a clean tone (or maybe with some mild drive) which sounds nice to your ears and do the same with the pedal when you activate it. Hope that helps.
Good review! I'm always curious about these Behringer pedals, and other cheap ones that I might be tempted to buy online without ever hearing them first! I'll check out some of your other vids also. Hey, I noticed your accent sounds a little like Chris Buck. Where do you hail from?
Thanks for checking out my review. Those Behringer pedals are worth checking out especially as they're so affordable. Where are you based? I've noticed the prices on Amazon USA jumping a bit but pretty stable on Amazon UK. And thanks for the comparison to Chris Buck, even if it was just with the accent 😂 Chris is from Wales in the UK and I'm from England, also in the UK.
That would be an interesting test! I've actually been eyeing up the Boss SD-1. But also wondering if it's worth spending the extra money to get the Waza version. If I can get hold of an SD-1 then yes, that will be do-able
The Behringer cloned the look but did'nt copy the best thing about Boss pedals- the easy battery access! This is a good pedal though (don't like the color). Behring need to update the design a bit, but hey so do MXR and others (MXR has phillips head screw access)
Hello, I have the opportunity to buy the Boss OS-2 Overdrive/Distortion pedal for €60 in the second-hand market or I can also buy this Behringer OD-300 new for €29, which ones do you recommend for a beginner? All the best.
Plastic doesn't always equal junk. They bury plastic pipes under roads for crying out loud. Not all plastics are equal. I own about 30 of these Behringer pedals and they are all amazing. There really isn't much need for a metal housing for a pedal marketed to bedroom players anyways.
I'm not sure to be honest. I would think not generally speaking. But I'm sure a lot of people would say the tone is in the fingers, which doesn't really help with your question. That being said, the ability to blend between overdrive and distortion may reveal a Santana sweet spot somewhere in the middle. Sorry I couldn't give a more insightful answer.
@@ProFunctionist Thanks, that’s actually helped, I bought an overdrive/dis and it’s closer to the sound than it was. As for the fingers, don’t think I’ll ever have such, A bit like Gary Moores lol! 🙏🕊🇬🇧

I've never tried the Heavy DIstortion so can't really comment. This pedal is based on the Boss pedal of the same name. Maybe have a look to see if the Behringer Heavy Distortion is based on another (maybe Boss) pedal to if there is a similarity. Thanks for watching!

Everyone always complains about the plastic but nobody can find images of broken ones.if it breaks you buy a new one for 20 bucks or you rehouse it.
That's a good point!
