5 Different Behringer Distortion Pedals - Stoner & Doom Metal Comparison/Shootout

- Comparison of 5 different current-production Behringer distortion pedals in the context of stoner and doom metal. I'm running them through a 1970s Peavey Standard PA amplifier head. The channel gain is set very low on the amp so all the distortion is coming from the pedals.
Pedals included: Heavy Distortion HD300, Super Fuzz SF300, Overdrive/Distortion OD300, Heavy Metal HM300, and Ultra Metal UM300.
Signal chain in order: HH Strat (C# Standard) + Pedal + Peavey Standard PA + Traynor YGC-412 (Eminence Cannabis Rex Speakers) + Shure SM57 + Focusrite Scarlett Solo. Reverb is from the DAW.
All pretty cool, but the Heavy Distortion sounds best to my ears. Great demo!
The big surprise was the Heavy Metal, there. I didn’t expect so much clarity.
Thank you so much for this!!! Ive been looking for comparisons and this video is killer🎉
Great video as always. The ultra metal sounded good here.
Really well made video. Cool riffs too.
banger video oomphie!!
my fav was actually the heavy distortion - the super fuzz didn’t work as well for these riffs imo but sounded super usable
Not sure about best, but definitely a huge surprise.
gotta hear the 2nd fuzz option 2nd is prob my fav
That’s the perfect video for choosing your sound, thanks!
I run a SF300 and HM300 in parallel at the same time and it sounds massive and incredibly gnarly!
I'm going to try that today. I have them both. Any tips on settings?
@@Metalbass1979u could maybe just copy from here and tweak it a bit lol
@accrimony I was referring to how he runs them in parallel. The video doesn't have that in there.
Thank you for this!
I mean I wouldn't kick any of these tones out of bed.
Stack two and have a three way
Justo el vídeo que necesitaba
i am a massive doom metal guy and being a broke teenager i bought a cheap dolamo d5 distortion pedal to get that kind of tone. I saw a video of it being used and i thought it was heavy enough. Now the guy had active pickups, something i noticed after receiving my pedal. This pedal sounds like higher pitched overdrive and im gonna return it and i was looking for a replacement. Thank you for this video its gonna make it really easy for me now!
Riff 1 0:01 heavy distortion
0:48 over dis
Riff 2 1:57
3:08
Riff 3 4:56 5:30
Awesome! My set SF300 (duh) and HD300 and if im feeling upset or angry. I'll just switch to XD 300 You keep rocking man 😎🤘
Makes me want to see the fuzz into the OD distortion
Only pedals I have man
They're a decent (and mostly cheap) alternative to BOSS pedals. If you can't afford BO$$ pedals you buy the plasticky BEHRINGER stuff that fail after a year or so. My DD400 digital delay after a year of using it stopped responding to me stomping on it. Hafta press it like 1000 times to turn it on and off. I gotta say though that all of these BEHRINGER distortions sound pretty good. My favourite of them all the HD300 HEAVY DISTORTION. A very good clone of the BOSS MD-2 MEGA DISTORTION. And also the SUPER FUZZ.
Super fuzz sf300 is… my favorite fuzz…. Ever
I'm assuming the Ultra Metal UM300 is their take on a Metal Zone. I wish I could get a Metal Zone to sound that good. The only one I have is the Heavy Metal HM300. I'll certainly be on the lookout for a HD300, OD300 and UM300
All pretty cool , but the ultra metal , Heavy metal and heavy distrotion sounds best my ears !!!
I'm going to buy ultra metal , super metal and heavy metal soon !!
Awesone !!!!
Bless you
agreed !this boy is doing the lords work.
HD300 the best distortion for me.
If I'm honest, the SuperFuzz is more fun when you put a bass guitar through it.
The voice of nasty ghost is OD300 Overdrive Distortion.
DEFINITLY Heavy distortion !
