I did the same. Luckily I did per my surgeon and oncologist. The pathology in the "non affected" right breast was riddled with precancer, a different subtype that doesn't show up on imaging from mammograms or MRIs. By the mercy of God, I'm still here. Ask for discernment. No one in my family had breast cancer. I'm the youngest of 6 girls. I originally didn't wear bras, but I use support now. Nothing about this is easy. Cancer is always a threat, be vigilant and advocate for yourself. Mindset is super important. Best wishes to the beautiful woman sharing her important story and fantastic energy. I'm praying for all of us touched or have family or friends going through this. God bless

I also was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and had a double mastectomy. My journey with reconstructive surgery has not been an easy one. I had a tissue expander that was defective, however, I also almost stroked on the table when they went to replace it. So almost 2 1/2 years later I was cleared for surgery to replace the expander. So I have one side that is at the max fill and one that is slowly getting filled. I would love to know the tattoo artist that you used. Baltimore is not to far so when I get to that stage I would love to contact them. Thank you for your story, I wish I had done a little more research when I was diagnosed but I never hesitated about doing the double mastectomy.

I do hope you keep feeling great about it. My first implants after the temporary ones----one ended up under my arm----took a yr to get new ones---a few yrs later one of the replacement ones went-----i am now happy with nothing. Many apparently get cancer from the implants. 😢

Thank you for your candidness. I have had several friends go thru this. Not sure what my choice would be but I’m proud of you for yours.

    Thank you for this video.
I don’t mean to be pedantic, but you did not have radical mastectomies. “A radical mastectomy is a surgical procedure that treats breast cancer by removing the breast and its underlying chest muscle (including major and pectoralis minor), and lymph nodes of the axilla (armpit).”
I’m a breast cancer survivor, too. I had a lumpectomy. My aunt, however, got breast cancer in 1960 or so, when radical mastectomies were thought to be necessary in order to save lives (lumpectomy was unheard of, I think).
I wish you everything good. And no one should criticize anyone for her choices. We all do what we believe is most likely to lead to no more cancer. Your new breasts look fantastic!

Thank you for pointing that out. My mother had two radical mastectomies for breast cancer because that's what was done back then. I had two simple mastectomies plus immediate reconstructive surgery. There's a vast difference. 👍

@@19th-Nervous-Breakdown Thank you. There sure is. The radical mastectomy (the Halstead mastectomy) was really horrific in how much tissue was removed. I’m grateful for the many advances in treatments that medical science has made possible. Btw, I love your screen name!

Believe on the LORD JESUS CHRIST and you will be saved
My grandson Joseph Jacob was diagnosed with 4th stage cancer
Oncologist advised six months of chemo.
June he started chemotherapy. God sends His word and heals Beginning of July before going for the blood test.
God gave this verse "But if the Spirit of him that raised up JESUS from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelleth in you.
By the grace of God Almighty Father in the mighty name of JESUS CHRIST his test came perfect.
After three weeks he went for the scan and God gave this verse "Blotting out the handwriting of the ordinances that was against us, contrary to us, and took it out of the way nailing it to his cross.
And having spoiled principalities and powers,he made a show of them openly triumphing over them in it.
The scan report came cancer free.
Yes my beloved brothers and sisters this is a miracle of our wonderful God.
I couldn't walk for three days.
I wanted to go to the hospital on Monday.
Sunday God gave me this verse "The prayer of faith will heal the sick'"
I was healed exactly at 12a.m.Monday morning by the healing touch of God.
PRAISE the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY FATHER in the mighty name of JESUS CHRIST.
Read the Bible and pray my dear beloved brothers and sisters.
      With love and prayers.

Yes, I was wondering why she called it a radical mastectomy when she got her implants under the muscle. I got a double mastectomy and 3 lymph nodes removed, then expanders placed under the muscle

@@saraha5070 I’m sorry you had cancer. Breasts are so often a source of distress (or worse). I wish you good health.

I did the same. I needed a mastectomy on one side due to breast cancer so I chose to have a bilateral mastectomy plus immediate reconstruction. My mother had breast cancer twice so I assumed that I was at higher risk than average to get breast cancer.

@@doriasalmon4790Thank you. I'm a 32 year survivor of breast cancer and I'm so happy that I chose a bilateral mastectomy with reconstructive surgery. My implants were placed behind the muscle so it was really very painful for quite a long time but I was cured. 😊

You have a great surgery. Did you have an implant or filled in with your own tissue?

  • @IreneRattray
    @IreneRattray 4 місяці тому +1

You have an excellent radicul mastectomy.
I had a breast reduction . I would have preferred your size . and a small implant. Also l should have chosen the more expensive surgeon who was a breast surgeon specialist.
