A drummer has to have so much control over every movement of his body, and keep intricate timing. To do that and sing at the same time is outrageous! I play guitar and sing at open mics, but that's different.
Another drummer that could rock the drum kit and sing is Don Brewer from Grand Funk Railroad fame. Check out the cut, We're An American Band, from GFR.
The drummer is my cousin, Peter Rivera. He is rated as one of the best drummer/singer in rock and roll. No, he didn't use his head, just a funny angle. He has ALWAYS sung with his eyes closed. 1st successful white band on the motown label. They cut out the drum solo. It's a 13 minute song. No, it is not dubbed. Sam Guzman is on bongo. Gil Bridges on sax. Check out the solo sometime, it's amazing.
@@richbumdrop2881 I don't remember what happened to the poster that was inside. If I didn't have so much of my Vinyl collection stolen I can't imagine how many albums that I had. Somebody recently passed and I helped go through that person's stuff. I opened some cassette cases and when I looked at some cassettes I noticed my initials in them. At least they let me have them.😂
@@bearballinno, it's not dubbed. He's my cousin and that was live. It's a 13 minute song on the album that was cut and edited for air play. They faded it out cause it kept going...

I feel the same -- just amazing how he can drum that well and sing so well at the same time. Thanks Ace -- fun reaction. 😉
This was a major classic by the Temptations!
These guys were signed By Motown records to appeal to the white youth at the time. These guys did several good covers of the Motown hits.
Yes , the first all white band to be signed to Motown.
It's an optical illusion, the drummer dips his head as he simultaneously strikes the cymbal...
This is one of those bands that is almost lost in history.
Lots of people forgot about Rare Earth and just how good they were
Great song 👍☮️ I have a song it's by The Soul Survivors and the song is "Expressway ( To your heart).☮️it's from 1967 but great 👍
Another great Rare Earth song is the album version of I Know I'm Losing You.
White musicians signed by MoTown.
Rare Earth's, "Get Ready".. next " I KNOW I'M LOSING YOU ".. (LONG VERSION)
Hey Big Brother
Beautiful and awesome song of all time.
RUSH!! peace and love from Canada. ❤ I will get back to ya with some beauties Ace. cheers
Yeah, I don't think he has any problems walking and chewing gum at the same time. 😂
Love this song. They sampled it from the Temptations

Not live, but they had a famous in concert album that looked like a backpack.
My mom got me the live album when I was eleven. Sheeeit. Such a great album. Good call Rich.
Damn I'm old at 65. I have that album and just played it today.😂
@@Ronald-k6s losing you off the backpack is timeless

PS, there was a shot of the sax earlier-this was real live.
It's a live performance but the audio is dubbed with the actual studio recording as it fades out the ending.

Rare Earth did this remake originally done by The Temptations...
Yeah this guy does sometimes use his head to hit the cymbals.
Lol. No he doesn't. He's my cousin. That was a weird angle us all.
Wrong version... Album version is about 21 minuten full of solo's, gitar, saxofoon, bass, hammond etc. 🔥🔥🔥
If you really want the full effet of this song, you have to do the album version 21 minutes long and Is a musical journey
That's not their version of Get Ready 😞, it's 15% of it. The real version is 21minutes of every one in the band getting a featured solo.
You should really check out the long version. This clip is way too short.
Drummer singer: Phil Collins!!!!
